You could always be a bit random and try a VW or Seat with same engine.  At least you would get to experience the mpi engine

I once had a mpi in a courtesy car, gutless thing that seemed to need loads of gear twirling to get any go out of it, and gearing that was right on threshold of 3rd and 4th at 30mph.  Glad to hand it back at end of day after servicing my car.   However I am not best judge as I normally drive a 110 DSG so any gearchanges were extra work.

Everyone is just putting me right off this MPI now!

I don't think I'll have time for anymore test driving before Thurs though.

I might just have to take the plunge and get the more expensive TSI...

Thanks

There are amazing Lease Deals on 1.0TSI Octavia,

Someone in the Octavia Section of this forum was letting members know of a cancelled order for much cheapness but that was only 8,000 miles a year.

Getting high annual mileage deals is usually much more expensive.

The reason Skoda's can be good deals & lease companies get 'much cheapness' or VW Finance does it is because they are not in demand,

and Skoda UK need to import so many and get them First Registered.

If a deal suits to rent one or to buy as a keeper then they are hard to beat really.

Would love an Octavia, but definitely way above budget. Maybe next time.

I've spent weeks and weeks researching and going round dealerships (new and used) and nothing has managed to beat the Fabia. For discounts, APR and excess mileage charges they are the best overall. Even going used wasn't much better, as was getting hammered for APR.

Thanks

Have you driven a Mk3 Face Lift yet with any engine?

That's what I found when I was getting my car. Same monthly price for a brand new car or a 1.5 year old used one!

Having driven a variety of these little cars, I've got to say, the TSI is the winner. I've driven a 1.0 TSI 95 too, in the Ibiza, and it's a great little engine.

I've driven an SE with the 110 manual and a Monte with the 110 manual, which I fell in love with.

The Monte out performs my 2008 Vectra SRi!

Monte goes a bit over my budget at £210 p/m with a 1k deposit.

Thanks
