stage 2 on stock turbo?

Featured Replies

getting my fab back from the garage next weekend, and i want to take it to stage 2 asap. i've already got everything required (pd150 head bolts, straight pipe, decat, egr delete, stage 2 clutch uprated for 240bhp, hard pipe intercooler) but i don't have an upgraded turbo. so was wondering if i could go ahead to stage 2 on the stock turbo?

No.

There is no "stage 2", the only route to more power is with a bigger turbo like a GT1752.

You need to increase peak boost to about 2.2 bar and fit a 4 bar MAP sensor to make the best use of your existing mods.

The standard turbo is junk.

Curious what a stage 2 clutch is?

"There is no stage 2" <Yoda>   .   Stage this that and the other are offerings from specific tuners at best and marketing bolox at worst.

Concerned you're going decat as it's likely to fail the MOT.

You are going to have to upgrade the turbo to get anywhere near 200. The stock fidget spinner runs out of puff well short of 180 on anything like a usable road tune. Simplest is a bolt on hybrid. e.g. https://www.turbodynamics.co.uk/shop/mdx446-stage-2-hybrid-turbo-for-vag-19tdi-130bhp-engines-p-4858.html
