3 more GPs confirmed at Nurburgring, Imola and Portimao.

Reports also suggest Canada/USA/Mexico/Brazil all binned.

The Imola weekend is being shortened to give the teams time to get there from Southern Portugal.

Spanish GP must be under threat again now.

New lockdown in Catalonia plus new 14 day quarantine for returnees to Britain as of midnight tonight.

Ferrari Chairman John Elkann has made a statement following criticism of the 2020 Red Racer saying that the Team would not be competitive until the 2022 season. My answer to that is why bother continuing to throw money at F1 if you have no chance of winning unless your competitors fail to finish a race (Mercedes AMG and Red Bull Racing).

Just what they need. The young yank boss has no connection to, or experience of, F1 (but grandpa owned FIAT (and therefore Ferrari)) and here he is doing interviews in Gazzetta dello Sport (The Italian bible of sporting newspapers). Is he just trying to rein in expectations - it's not what the tifosi want to hear regardless.

I notice he blames the chassis for the performance deficit. No reference to the dodgy power unit being reigned in by the FIA and ruining the performance of all 3 Ferrari powered teams.

If they don't invest though they'll be further behind when the new rules come in 2022, and they've got to use their financial muscle before the budget restrictions.

3 world championship races yes.

But Italy, like Britain, used to run non championship F1 events all over the place.

... just so Ferrari and Maserati could rack up some wins when they were having a poor year in the World Championship.

Found quite a few occasions in the 50's and 60's where the Brits rocked up and kicked their asses though,

most famously Tony Brooks in the Connaught at the '55 Syracuse GP becoming the first all-British driver and car combination to win a GP since 1923.

Silverstone should show exactly where Ferrari are for raw pace compared to the silver arrows, or black arrows as they are at the moment.

Positive for Perez so no race for him.

Talk of Hulkenberg replacing Perez this weekend.

New isolation rules mean Perez misses both Silverstone events.

Pleased for the Hulk as I always felt he represented us taller chaps at 1.84m, 78 kgs, in a field of many little people.

Whilst there is a driver/seat minimum weight of 80 kgs so things are better it has been on on-going issue means really good drivers did not get a ride.

I recall G Berger got sidelined due to this size.

Glimmer of hope for the other teams yesterday with Mercedes unable to find working setup in the heat. Stroll or Hulkenburg for the front row or the win?

It looks to be cooler today and tomorrow so it might be business as usual. I was listening to Radio 5 Live yesterday during P2 and they were discussing the tyre situation and the temperatures. They said that next weekend the Pirelli tyres will be softer, also next weekends temperatures are forecast to be 30c.

Red Bull a whole second off pole!... for the 3rd GP on the trot.

I saw Brundle wrote last week about Max leaving for Mercedes, this result is surely going to increase the chance of that happening, although Lewis is talking about 3 more years.

22 and a bit hours to go for RedBull's video forensic squad to get the front row penalised like they already did in Austria. ☹️

Obvious bits to look at:

Bottas  - Purple in every sector when Hamilton spun in front of him.

Hamilton - slow in sector 3 when a McLaren came up behind on a fast lap.

Should be worth a 3 place grid penalty each. 🙄

Albion hitting other again...

Hamilton crosses the finish line to win  ...... with a left front puncture!!!

Amazing end to what was a fairly processional race in the middle laps.

Max could have won if he could have predicted all the tyre problems about to happen but bagged the extra point for fastest lap and Lewis now 30 points ahead of Bottas after he slipped from 2nd to 11th with 2 laps to go. Sainz also suffering and losing points dropping from 4th and Vettel only managing 10th compared to his team mates podium (3rd).
