@asavvyman check you PM for latest SW. I don't know if your unit has been reworked and with what solution but basically for having AU maps on SD without changing folder name you must recode byte 03 in 5F from 01 to 08. If this doesn't work then additionally license for AU maps shoudl be installed.

To have the colour folders instead of the monochrome carousel is not a piece of cake - it requires hacking of SW download and then updating with hacked 04xx SW.

Pab567 is there any way to fully reset the software or to reinstall it? As I have a few issues with the sound and the fact that is I press the power button to reset the infotainment, the system factory resets and have to go through the process again. The sound goes lower after a call or nav announcement but does not go to normal after and remains low even at full volume.

You can turn developer mode on and then manually select to re-install all the files.

Do I need a copy of the firmware or will it use what is what it already has?

It's a retrofit and had no SD that came with it.

No sense to update if you don't have issues since updates do not bring any new features, they 99% fix existing issues. This answers both of your questions.

I'm sure that @pab567 will be along to assist soon.  Your maps are somewhat out of date too (2017) - maybe a maps update might be a good thing.

Are there any reports about updating causing the unit to be bricked or features disapearing?

Tried searching for it but only saw reports about MIB1.
