I think I'll bring a couple of foot square L plates for my car. It'll be my first track time, but I hope to not "do a Julie" and stuff my Fabia off at the first corner. :D

I think most people will agree, even those in smaller & less powerful cars, that the concept of using the apex of bends, controlling grip at the limit, being observant for others, is something that can be gathered, and is used, during driving on normal roads... ok, just me then? :D

edited to say that PC driving games help. Parents say that they're mind numbing games, but I believe most, including my 911 game, help install the concepts of driving well in our minds, without the risk of major damage to your car.

Don't mind other cars (non- Skoda) making up numbers, members thoughts please.

Please can i come along des, even though i don't own a skoda?? :)

Best tag myself for this day ;)

as per wahat the above have said. I still think a track day is safer than my 20minute drive home, Honestly! Even when I have come close to pushing the car to far (which is still a long way off; wasn't it Nick? :D ) there is plenty of space and you build up to it.

L plate sessions, sessions full stop, offset for have ago, lots of options and hats of to Des and Jon for taking it upon themselves to organise this for us all.

Just treat it like a fast A road, nothing coming in the other direction, pure bliss. Take your time I do...

Indeed - I'd never expect to deny a Briskoda member access to a track day just because they're not driving a skud. The likes of Mr Ffelan and his TVR must be included as well as yourself, Si. There must be more? - what about Gossy?

Don't forget BigK & his Escrote van ! :D

gossy needs to come just for the entertainment value!!!!

Big_K and his van?

I reckon we'll have to turn it into something like this first, ot make it track worthy. :D

This day is not just for drivers, for a small fee you could be a passenger or a spectator, maybe all surplus monies going to briskoda. :)

So come on put your name down.

Des

Although I might be living in a cardboard box by then I will be there, if only to beg for small change...

sounds good

i'll vote for goodwood - the london & surrey mini owners club used to use it - great fun - and the pit area has covered garages if the weathers cr*p

marc

Can't beleive I didn't spot this thread!

Des, put me on the list - 'bout time I got to stretch the old Skod's legs on a track :D

I too will be very interested in exhaust db levels... Jon - did you ever take your car on track with the H&S exhast minus muffler cap thingy?

It's Rob, and keep me on the list please

I agree with trying to keep it Skud only but to keep numbers up and costs down other marques should be allowed.

It makes it more interesting as well :D

I do agree - with one proviso - assuming that a fair number of us are either fairly inexperienced on track or outright newcomers, it's important that people feel comfortable out on the track.

If we open it up beyond colleagues/friends of Briskoda/similar marques I think it would be sensible to think about whether its an open pit lane or at least for the morning we run closed sessions of experienced / novice+inexperienced ?

Just a thought - I once had a 996 Turbo bearing down on me through a couple of bends in my diesel A4 Quattro once. COming on to the straight, I signalled and moved the correct way as per the drivers' briefing and he overtook me on the same side at 110 as I moved ...

If we have similar cars and are similar minded, we can make sure it stays fun!

please put me down on the list. i fancy a day on the track.

Ooooh - all these standard vRS to go against! (not that I have a competitive spirit!) - All I can say is I hope aa few of you are still as standard, so I have some decent comparative competition to go against! (metaphorically speaking)

Remember, it's non-competative ;)

Steve

Ok me and the wife are up for this. Rach would love to take her combi out on the track! Should give the vRS's a nice target! Just a little point to whos booking it but could you just check they have no problems letting disabled drivers on the circuit in suitably modified vehicles. Rach uses a single combined lever for the gas and brake with her right hand and a steering aid with her left. Hopefully my TDi will be modded by then....

put me on the list to, nice central location would be good. will do it somewhere else as long is its do'able in one day.

I would deffo be up for it.

Like Colin and others, I'm a track virgin, so something nice and kind to naive mistakes ;)

As long as it's relatively central / south, I'd make the trip :D

Central would be good for me. I need to be able to do there and back in a day.
