Delivery times?

Spoke to another dealer today asking about stock cars and got told that there is nothing available at all. He also said that Skoda prioritise retail PCP or cash customers and everything is made to order at the moment. They can secure Karaq's at the moment with only 2 month lead time apparently though for anyone interested / bored of waiting lol.

I suspect the information one would like would prove embarrassing to Skoda. How many of each type of car are being built each month? How many are sat waiting parts once built? How many are actually being delivered and to which country’s? When I ordered mine I was advised it was a 26 week delay to delivery. Other vehicles in the range were 52 weeks plus. Perhaps I should have gone for a V60.

  • Well 13.5 months waiting and I finally collected my Octy Estate vRS yesterday. I couldn't be happier  👍😀

  • After 13 months waiting my SEL iV Plug in Hybrid arrived.    All seems good with it so far, just to understand some of the infotainment features!

  • Just took delivery of mine but had to cancel some of the optional extras

You definitely should have. :)

Ordered an SEL IV in feb and was told delivery estimated 19 August 22. What are the chances of August?

sorry to say - but based on current experience - not a chance

I put my order in for an SEL iV in November 2021 , directly with VWFS. Just had the 6 month order status email - waiting for build week allocation.

Ordered mine in November with delivery date of July 22 with a few options, i now anticipate i'll get it January 2023.  If it gets delivered before, i'll genuinely be surprised

i do not think anyone including skoda knows how there ordering and delivery system work.it is a complete shambles there must be people at boardroom level know the system is a complete failure.yet do nothing about it WHY

Here is my today’s update - delivery week remains week 20, car is built but still waiting for door panels. So no changes atm.

Do you really think Board members order a car through a dealer.

More like a top spec one delivered to a parking space outside their office, and existing one taken away every 3 months.   Bet they have never been near a retail order form, or had to wait for months

point taken but there must be persons at skoda in high positions that know what a shambles it is.

Well, spoke to my dealer this morning and no change, no update.

So I'm done, my order has been cancelled and I've bought a 7 seat Kodiaq this afternoon. 1 year old with 8k miles. It's being delivered Friday lol.

The new dealer (different branch) said that the hold up on Octavia's is the wiring harnesses from Ukraine. Told me he very much doubts I would see the Octavia I ordered this side of Nov, which by going from peoples experiences on here is optimistic!

Let me chime in..

First off, I can give you a little bit of inside information (my father was a manager in one of the biggest Porsche (VAG) dealerships in Slovenia for 10 years), for anyone who is not familliar with how VAG works in Europe.. Basically, they prioritise deliveries based on the market share a certain country has in regards to their cars.. For example, Slovenia is a small market, meaning we can expect longer delivery times than Germany, Italy, France, UK etc.. Apparently, in the past, the managers of dealerships had to negotiate with their Uber-ober bosses in Germany as to what kind of priority a country or a dealership gets.. The less influence a manager has, the worst it is for the whole market or a dealership.

I think that is also why some of us in small EU countries have to endure appalling delivery times, as opposed to smn in a bigger, more profitable county :D

I ordered the car end of August 2021, was said 6 months delivery time.. It is now nearing 9 months since then. I got the VIN number last month, car was built in the meantime, delivery date postponed to week 19 (next week), with the comment of " your car is awaiting parts"

And now, we wait :)

I'm going to throw my toys from the pram...
So, my estimated delivery date of 1 May has come and gone. I ordered in early November '21 and have other more than an order number. My dealer knows nothing. All communication with  Skoda UK is politely deflected and now my last e-mail to Skoda has been pushed back to the dealer! The lack of communication and customer care is stunning. Then I read on here that some of you are getting weekly updates...I'll take some that action! When/how does that occur?

Dealer said, that he can give weekly update only when car is in production, until then he gave only production week. In my case order is 21 august, production date 5 week of 23, so expect to get weekly update in year 2023 :D

That seems to be true, because i ordered my car in 21 august, just like you, however my estimated wait time is 19 months, i don't have VIN number or any specific information, only prelimanary build week. Well, i think if i ever get car, this will be my last experience with Skoda or VAG. Already cursed that day when decided to order Skoda :D

Thanks for such a detailed update. Much appreciated. May your car arrive soon. BRS

Welcome mate.

Your experience is quite similar to mine, ordered beginning of August 21, wait time supposedly 5-7 months, got VIN last month, car built, waiting door panels (supposedly, who knows 🤷‍♀️), currently still scheduled for week 20 (just around the corner). But preparing myself for push backs to follow, just as some of you are already experiencing.

So... I posted earlier on this forum that we will probably cancel our order. We decided to wait a bit more and yesterday the dealer told us that the status had changed and the car is planned to be built. He estimates that soon we will get a VIN number and told us that based on his experience with the other orders, if the car has all the parts, it will arrive in 4-8 weeks from the moment the care gets a VIN number. I don't know what to believe, though. He only told us that the delivery estimate is now November (before it was December). But he thinks we will get it sooner.

If the car has all the parts - well, they clearly stop after being built because there is something missing, but let’s hope there is some truth in words of your dealer. I think @Senaid has been waiting for quite a while with VIN number and someone else who I can’t remember at the moment (sorry mate), so they might be just speculations…

Mine has apparently been built but awaiting parts since April. I've made it over 9 months (original quoted 18 weeks).

Mine is also build and awaiting parts. 9 months and counting.

I knew there were more of us, you’ve been waiting since when (after being built ofc)?

Received an "update" from lightcliffe warrington this morning (only after i chased it as my delivery date was due to be yesterday on Octavia petrol vrs with winter pack) that basically i should think myself lucky as my car is not over 200 quid a month more to order now than the deal i got 😂 still no build date and apparently impossible to give any indication of expected delay. ordered august 21 direct from dealer and expected delivery was 4th may. think il be forking out for something second hand shortly. first skoda ordered and will certainly be my last (if i ever see it) customer service has been shocking to say the least

I guess they are still receiving enough orders if they dare to act this way… I know there are problems in supply chains everywhere, but this should have been handled way better.

Basically exactly the same for mine. Cancelled my order a few days ago and got a Kodiaq arriving tomorrow morning, practically new.

Is anyone receiving shiney new metal?

I only got the info that it was build and awaiting parts about 10 days ago (after i contacted my dealer). When was it build, i have no idea, i didn’t ask.
i got the VIN though… 😂 but can’t see the car in Skoda app.
