On dsg gearbox is the stop start automatically engaged when in normal drive

Stop/ start defaults to on every time you get in and start the car, no matter what drive mode is selected.

Thanks I knew it did in eco but not sure about the other modes

Also depending on year the box will default to normal on start up (sometimes eco if selected, depends on firmware).

start / stop codable to not operate though isn't it? it's useful in traffic, at traffic lights with a long change sequence but a pain in the 3ss when stoping at junctions and reverse parking or revering into driveways etc etc...  I would like to default it off or get it to remember the previous setting.

Mine is coded off - was like that when i got the car so dont know what was involved.
