  • First off, well done to those who condensed the thread Couple of questions if anyone knows the answer. 1) Where do skoda dealers fit the 14.5mm gasket? Position 6 or 11? Seem to remember reading th

I ordered a gasket last week and it turned up in the post this morning. A bit lucky by the sound of it !! Just waiting for the Ltd Edition now to put it in.

once again... more miles... still stutters... still don't know what the fuss is all about?

Currently running an 04 plate Vrs till my Limited Edition turns up(still waiting and waiting and waiting......). Came across Briskoda by accident and the "stutter" thread has given me a slight case of cold feet, was trying to get hold of a 9mm gasket just in case it's as bad as some folks seem to think.Wasn't planning to fit the 9mm to the Ltd Ed straight away, but for

This is the stutter fix thread, perhaps you should start your own Happy With It thread?

Drive around it? It's not a raised manhole!!

There are certain time when gear and road speed mean that the engine speed is in "stutter zone". Simply shift up a gear (or down) and you're out of it.

And since it's caused by coming off the throttle then back on, how about looking ahead at the road and/or traffic conditions and being prepared for it?

Just a few suggestions, rather than nearly 40 pages of throwing the rattle out of the pram

Babs - try the m60 at 5.30pm - I can roll along in 1st and stutter away or stall in second. Through the speed restriction when things actually get going I seem to constantly be around 1800 rpm and on and off the throttle as every idiot in the world dabs the brakes for fun. If you don't want to join in on the sharing off technical info to solve this irritating feature that Skoda can't be arsed resolving then don't continue to read the thread. 'Scuse me, just off to retrieve rattle from floor........

How about Skoda designing a car that suits normal modern driving conditions, Ive got a similar DESIGN FEATURE on the Superb & SUcK dont give a duck about it either

maybe my car doesn't do it as bad then, but it's perfectly acceptable to me since *I'M* making it stutter

Haven't you driven any other cars??

Skoda are taking the mick!!!

*YOU* are not "making" your car stutter its FAULTY!!!!!

I do look ahead when I drive, cos I wouldn't be sat here if I didn't, over 100k miles in last 5 years.

Honestly why are you posting on this thread?? This is not an issue that needs someone coming along and harassing countless individuals about their driving abilities and, ergo, Intelligence.

If I see a thread on here and think "why do they bother with that?" I go and look somewhere else for something that either interests me or I feel I can contribute to in a positive way.

Rattle and pram and bat and ball aswell!

Thats it from me it's sorted and I won't have to bear more of the toss that's written further down this page.

Is there a process for getting someone kicked off the forums for being a Skoda spy/employee?

We all know the Milton Keynes secret police lurk around this forum but they normally stay under cover so Im guessing this is just someone expressing their view be it right or not which we are entitled to do.

Personally I believe SUcK should take note of peoples thoughts & try & help where possible, if that means turning a corporate blind eye to people curing the stuttering skoda with a

I work for a Dealer,Some cars do it,Some "appear" not to,I have recently taken delivery of Ltd Edition Fab Vrs,Mine does it but it happens so low in the rev range at such a light throttle application that frankly I couldnt care less,My wife drives the car completely differently to me (i.e using the very lower end of the torque with light pedal application) and she hasnt even noticed it !.

Our Ex demo didnt even suffer from the problem (still a BLT engine code),so I guess it all boils down to the individuals driving style?.

One thing I will comment on however ,the gear lever vibrates with a vengeance there is a fix coming about for it soon but not available as yet ,iritating at idle though !

Any one remember the horid lurching the Pug 205 Gti's suffered from in the 80's and 90's,PSA group never could sort it and neither could Bosch (and they designed the injection system for the Things !) and yet thousands of people put up with it and loved the little cars for years on end !

I have a 205 also as my second car for a bit of fun at the weekends (Albeit with a completely different engine and injection system) Cracking little car and such a steal a todays prices !

Jesus he's only a nipper from Newport calm down if he's happy with his so be it.

Exactly my point!

It's a trait of the engine, very much like how most 1.8T's take a drop in power and torque around 3,200rpm. Thus, it's possible to drive around it.

I can concede that my car doesn't seem to do it as much as people on here are commenting on, and as such the stutter I do get is easily to drive around. But it is still my actions that are causing it to stutter; if I didn't come off the throttle and then straight back on at circa 1,800rpm then it wouldn't stutter.

And thankyou Fatty ;)

Yep Im prepared to go with that,I have a friend whose wife drives theirs most of the time,She had a real issue with the problem and yet because of the difference in his driving style he barely ever noticed it.

At the end on the day it is a characteristic of the car,Some other franchises I have worked for also have "little peculiarities",The ,manufacturers cant help the ever more stringent emmisions legislation that are forced upon them by governments and ultimately by us ?,Of course Global warming is a huge topic at the moment and is only going to become ever more prevelant....so in short something has to give !.

I think to be fair Its not a big enough problem to effect the overall driving experience of these fantastic little cars !

There was a revised setup for the gear linkage a while ago, I'm assuming they are having another go at it. I had it on both of my Fabia, it seemed to cure it on one and not on the other.

Dealer rang today to say my Ltd Ed will be ready in the next few days (At last !!),so i will finally get to experience the difference between the Euro 111 and 1V cars. Not sure if i am excited or scared.

About a 50 mile trip back home from the dealers on a good mix of different road types,so if the stutter is there, i think it will make itself felt.

Finally,if there is a fair number of unhappy Briskodians out there, i wonder how Audi A3/A4 owners feel about the stutter, whats unacceptable in a 12K skoda must be downright unforgivable in a 20K+ Audi. Or have Audi fixed it ?.Apologies if this is old ground, but i'm still a newbie.Going for a lie down now as i'm rambling.

Audi have a more pro active attitude with their customers, I was contacted by someone who had a 2.0 Diesel with DPF problems & Audi admitted the car wasnt suitable for their style of driving & got them into a V6 engined car. We have a Superb with the same problems, SUK attiude is sue the dealer, we arent interested

That why VAG have different tiers of cars. Audi top, Skoda bottom and VW and Seat somewhere in the middle.

By the way, is there a stutter on the 'new' Seat Ibiza?

the rest of VAG do no have the 130 spec TDI since Euro IV emmissions regulations, all the 1.9 TDI's are now 105bhp
