Fault code P2455

Featured Replies

Please can I ask your advice please. The heater plug light started to come on every so often then it was on permanently. The engine light came on too. I had a diagnostic done, see pic. On investigation both pipes and dpf sensor were clean. However only the left ie large diameter pipe was attached to the exhaust. I’ve only limited space but can’t find where the small diameter pipe attaches to the exhaust. Any advice greatly appreciated 😊

So did you just remove the sensor, or the sensor and pipes ?

If you only cleaned the sensor, the pipes would still be connected to the exhaust no ?

It's a differential pressure sensor, so if you can see where one pipe connects, the other should be the other "side or end" .

Heres an image fromt he manual that should help....

Only one pipe connected, other open to atmosphere, I think. A regular cause of consternation. Usually a short piece of pipe just a few inches long, with open end, on other stub.

Thanks so much, I took the entire unit off including the pipes and everything is spotlessly clean. Just having one pipe connected confused me, which is not difficult at the best of times 😂 Thanks once again.  BTW I cleaned the wiring  and connectors and again everything is spotless. I suspect it’s the sensor, any recommendations on a replacement please

I have tried thanks and I’m only getting versions with similar numbers. They’re over £80 from the dealership 😭 Can I thank you and UrbanPanzer for taking the time to reply 😊👍

Wow that’s great once again I can’t thank you enough. I’ll have the car right soon hopefully. I just replaced another injector so that’s one less fault code 😂

I think there's an adaptation routine that needs to be run if you change that differential pressure sensor.

Thanks for your help. I believe you’re right, I may be as well taking it to a garage as I don’t have the relevant software thanks once again 😊😊👍

There is indeed but its not likely to be far out unless the factory was at the top of Mount Everest and didn't have a calibrated test chamber, they wander in service anyway, I frequently redo the adaptation and the offset value is always different probably dependant on the atmospheric pressure that day.

I should really do it at sea level and when the atmospheric pressure is bang on 1000 millibars.

Standard atmospheric pressure is considered to be 1013mb @ 15c

Thanks J.R. Appreciate your input. I’ll just replace it and see how it runs. I appreciate why the sensor is there but what a pain when they fail. I wish there was a legal way to bypass it. Thanks once again

Thanks for the correction Nige.

Silvertabby, bypassing the sensor would be like removing your genitalia, you might retain some functions with a degree of difficulty but would deffo be on a Limited Operating Strategy!

It's not illegal to bypass the sensor, it's just dumb, the sensor tells the ECU when to regen the DPF, without it your DPF will just clog up until the engine stops running.

If you look at the first number, thats a Bosch part number, it's a Bosch sensor which will be IDENTICAL to the Skoda supplied part but cheaper.

heres one at £50 posted.

Can I just take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to everyone for their help. I’ve got the new sensor from LLL, fitted it and everything is clear on the display, no lights on the dashboard 😄. I still need to code the new injector so considering buying the VCDS as I intend keeping the car until it dies. Bonjour

Encore merci"
