Fabia vrs smoke map?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I’m just curious about a “smoke map” on my pd130 Skoda fabia vrs.
im wanting to get a little more smoke on my tune as it’s quite a clean map at the moment, I’ve heard it can increase power slightly and increase turbo spool, as well as blacking out everyone that tries to race you ;) just wondering what could happen if I do it and if/what damage could be caused?

specs are:
Pd150/ gt1749 turbo

standard injectors

2.25inch straight through

mapped to 185bhp

Such a map:

Does not increase power on a PD

Does increase EGT

Does clog your VNT

Does draw attention from plod

Does fail the MOT

Not much of an upgrade really...

What he said.

Never seen the fascination with a smoke map, personally. Kind of gives away any sort of an inconspicuous nature that the car would have had, in terms of hiding performance. That makes sense to a mildly heatstroked me, so make of that what you will.

Surely this is all just a Friday afternoon wind-up.

What the owner didn't say in that video was his rear windows are clear glass and interior and seats are a light grey colour, or they used to be.  I'm very surprised he's not got smoked rear lights and number plate.  They must love him where he drives.

i thought the "agri spec" look had been and gone already?

it was very mid recession over here, among the few boy racers that couldnt get to Oz, or afford to run petrols any more.  "ratted" (just ****boxes in reality) mk4 golf tdis and 307s with turned up exhaust tips covering the back of the car in black gack...... fk me it was ridiculous.
