I did wonder whether there was a new one for that. Wonder if it includes the missing logos... bet it doesn't. As you know for mib2 I do the graphic import you cant do in mib3 to in fill for missing. That radio station logo in fill method I might have mentioned previously.

In fill method but not for mib3:

https://media.info/radio/stations/times-radio/logo-for-vw

That web site has all the logos so for the odd missing few you can in fill what are missing.

It's likely that no matter how many updates are released, in some countries the radio station logos won't be filled in everywhere. I wonder if it will stay that way or if some method will appear to fill them in on MIB3.

Wondering if someone saw more recent version of the MS2P/MH2P RSDB v1.20.xx series package? I believe those files are used in VW Touareg and in Audi MMI systems since those systems are using higher resolution of graphics (320x240 instead of 160x120). I could only find v1.20.20 from 2020

@Tell can't fill them using that method on the Audi. I rename the the STL.1vw file to vw_stl_db.sqlite then upload it via more incredible bash on the green screen

Must be a difference in the mib2 between Audi and the rest. We always had the odd logo import function. Essentially you take the VW file which they have now withdrawn and added your own. The new up start channel need adding. Pencil USB I keep but no new radio stations take my fancy. Mib3 I still reckon Phonostar only support the ones they have in the Internet bouquet of stations.

It's too much for mib3 system designers to understand that. I see on the Troc site one of the radio providers had conversations with Phonostar but were disappointed they were still not in 🤭. Like stirring treacle.

I doubt it since they have mib3 locked down with encryption on signatures. Radio logo file never needed a signature. Poi import was similar. Both those two not supported and they have slammed the door shut on mib3 toolboxes by taking away the backdoor method they accidentally left open. They didnt want connected cars being changed into bot nets. Some logic in some of the actions.

hi @fuze

I also want to fix those radios and some more. Maybe we can cooperate?

I know that something has changed with some radios (for example LRT Radijas) 2-3 years ago. I say that, because before LOGO was shown normally (from this file: LTU_20200331.zip). But now- there is no LOGO. I guess something was changed in broadcasting info. Maybe stations name?

What did you send to phonostar? Maybe they asked for more radio info? I would like to change few more station LOGOs, i.e. GoldFM, GerasFM and etc.

Today I updated to this version: https://www.phonostar.de/download/vw/MQB3_JND_Europe_v1.31.64.zip after the update, I was able to set the Power Hit Radio logo, and I didn’t really notice any other changes.

answer on my sent logos at 20. November 2025.

Thank you very much for the new logos.

We have now updated all radio stations. The new logos will be included

in one of the following updates. For technical reasons, however,

different aspect ratios for logo display are not possible.

Kind regards

Your Phonostar team

and there today's answer on my morning question, where are updates?

these files are from mid November 2025.

So the changes from 20th November aren't included.

Kind regards

Your Phonostar team

What is excellent is that Phonostar added logos for Bosnia radio stations in this last update after I wrote them an e-mail in july last year. Not all of them, but many.

They did really a great job.

Before I start, a huge thank you for all the information, I hope you don't mind a VW 2020 MK8 Golf owner interfering in your activities but this thread was the only I could find with considerable knowledge on this subject.

For any UK owners following, I messaged Phonostar in German and had a very productive conversation with one of the team and they'll be adding Hits Radio UK and Greatest Hits Radio UK logos to the database (I fully understand there's multiple regional variations of Hits and GHR and possible logos) they'll also be addressing the Kiss FM logo change in a future update.

I also noticed on my update I had to manually add some logos such as Capital UK and Capital London though the managing logos area, but I'm sure that's been mentioned.

Thanks again, and we'll see what happens.

Is that a mib3 since I thought it was locked down. No manual adding extras like mib2. Yes it's the poor workmanship of the database not covering all stations. Obviously for Germany they do but as you move further a field. I put it down to being driven by what is on the Phonostar Internet radio service. If it's not on there it's less likely to be in the logo database. Vag being lazy and not understanding logos.

I think I found a TRoc post or another VW site that reported stuff was still missing. Seat / Cupra aren't in the IDs so their injection into Mib3 goes in over the air. They don't get the ability to upload. As per the old POI import web based utility that had missing infotainment units in it, the mib3 files are similar. You do get an over the air logo update after you get an over the air firmware update so I'm told on mib3/4. Saying all of that it comes down to nagging phonostar to put missing logos in. I'm sticking with mib2.

I'm guessing that what @JPMK8 means by manual installation is that updating the Phonostar database by USB doesn't automatically assign the logos. You have to go to the individual stations & update the logo from there, which will then show the logo from the update. At least that's what I've found.

Apologies for causing the confusion @Rbz5416 @Tell

Yes, I definitely have an MIB3 installed in the Golf.

I did the update procedure as described here for MIB3, then after updating you can find the menu option to manage logos and assign logos in from the database update.

In all fairness to phonostar, being able to talk to them in German has made my life a lot easier, so I'll try and get more logos for UK stations added.

Hi all,

Wondering if anyone knows/has come across a way to update radio station logos for Australia. We have just bought a used Octavia 2020 MkIII. I've found that one of the driver profiles has logos but the others don't. I'm trying to hunt down logos myself just to see if I can update them manually one at a time though this is a bit painful.

If its a mib3 which it sounds like it is 2020 on then individual radio logo update it is not possible. Mib1 and 2 it was. The logos are locked down so you can use the link @MartiniB posted at the top for bulk update. You have to make representations to Phonostar the keepers of the logos for specific individual ones. Vag became much more security conscious with mib3 so locked down unsigned imports to the unit which logos use to be for the singular import as per mib2 (did a few individual ones in the UK).
