  • Hello from Latvia! I also bought a Škoda Superb L&K 2.0TSI 4x4 (delivered in May 2024). Everything was fine until October 2024 (I drove around 5000 km at that point). I got 7 warnings related to

  • My wife's Superb was updated a week ago on 2nd December and there have been no problems since. She drove 320 miles at the weekend and all was well.   She's finally starting to enjoy the car

  • I got my car back yesterday,  33 miles on, no problems.  I know that is not far, but went wrong after 10 miles when I got it . So, let's hope,  fingers crossed!

Car been in dealership for 2 days. They’ve been told by Škoda Technical to recalibrate the assist systems. I’ve got zero confidence this will resolve anything as I would imagine they were recalibrated when they put the software update on in Dec.

I got my car back on December 16th after the update. There has been a few hiccups, i.e. a ping and warning light but it cancels after a minute or two. The worst event was 3 warning lights, and they cancelled themselves the next day. Touching a lot of wood and keeping my fingers crossed there is a vast improvement. I still start the car every day with a huge amount of apprehension.  It is not perfect, but perhaps on the right track?

Mine was similar after the update with mainly short journeys but the two occasions when all the errors have occurred and adaptive cruise control has gone have been on longer journeys making where they are missed the most.

Anyone had this..... drove the Superb today,  all well. Went to drive it 10 minutes later, got a message saying log in, your account has not been used for a long time. Put email and password in and then said unable to log in.

The Internet globe top left is dim suggesting not connecting to the Internet.

Can't get to radio, navigation or any settings.

Dealer says, might be Skoda server in Germany.

Anyone else got this problem?

Not the car it seems, skodaconnect is down across UK. Apparently a fault in Germany.

New attempt in the Skoda service next week. They promise the software update, but not sure which version did they mean.

The multimedia system version and the car software modules like the assist systems seems to be totally unrelated. In case the version number changes in your infotainment module as well, then please let us know. that would be big news :)

I had the update a month ago, since then all has been good. I  have had a warning light come on once or twice,  but it cancels after a minute or so .

I still don't trust the car fully,  but, I have had no problems since the update

Hopefully the update will work for you

Same here: updated December 24. Had one more issue the next day with the warning light and 'calibration error' popup window on the infotainment screen that required a restart of the engine. Since then, only one or two warnings that clear after a minute.

Car has now done 2000km since the update, driving it 5 days/week.

I do  not want to ruin your hopes.
I have my iv since septemebr - first problem with all assitants happened in December. Then it reated once more a week ago.
It was enough to leave the car closed for 5 mins - then all was back ok.
Here in Polnad they say the update is expected in Q1

Another update: today I got 2 warning notifications while driving. I think the first one was an error about side sensors not working. It immediately displayed the second warning so I'm not sure. The second one was "proactive passenger protection restricted" error. Both cleared right after the warning.
About 5 minutes later, while in stationary traffic, it activated the proactive passenger protection and tightened the seatbelts. It wasn't a pleasant experience. I had this twice before the software update. So I assume this is another bug which needs addressing.
Also on the way back, I got the same two errors again and they disappeared immediately like the first one.

At least they are cancelling themselves almost immediately.  That is progress!

Update.  After the third visit to the dealer my car software was updated again as they said it hasn’t taken. They also recalibrated whatever that means. I’m still getting errors most days. They clear with a restart but I feel I’ve lost confidence. I’m four months in from ownership with the 6 month deadline looming for rejection. I contacted the supplying dealer some distance away to make them aware of the issue and put them on notice that I may be rejecting the vehicle. They said I would have to give them one opportunity to fix it (which is a bit pointless as they would only follow the same Skoda technical advice).   I also contacted head office and had a call from the executive office.  He was very good, said he would call me two weeks after the last service visit to see how things were. I’d mentioned about possible rejection and that the supplying dealer said they would have to be given an opportunity to fix it. He indicated that wouldn’t be necessary. So he’s due to call in the next two days and I’ll have to make my mind up.

Sorry to hear that.  I know it took a few goes to do my update, it kept  getting stuck halfway. Eventually the dealer tried a different machine (same software)  and the car accepted the update. 6 weeks on, all good.......so far.

Skoda have really messed this one up!

I'd like to share a bit of information as I've had 1 of the new superbs with similar issues, after the software update was carried out the vehicle was still getting multiple errors, one thing you can check is under the drivers footwell, remove the rear cover and check the positiong of the wiring loom, on the vehicle I had the wiring loom was rubbing on the steering joint and had caused damage to the wires after repairing these wires the vehicle drove as normal with no issues, if this isn't the case, unfortunately I have no other ideas as to what the issue could be.

Hello, new to the forum

I am collecting my new PHEV tomorrow and having read about this issue would like to check a couple of things:

(Yes I should have read the forum before buying!)

Is SW version 2630 now the latest version and does it resolve all issues?

From reading the posts it seems to have worked for some but not all?

I was informed by the dealer that SW updates happen OTA , but it would appear for this update a return to the dealer is required, is this correct? Is it for recalibration of safety systems?

If OTA updates are possible do they cover both Map and System update?

The car I test drove did not show any issues so it's disappointing to see this happening, especially as my previous PHEV (not Skoda) only 18moints old had similar issues but no OTA updates. As I have slow broadband downloading 10's of Gbytes of data is not possible.

I will check the SW version when I collect the car and keep my fingers crossed it's up to date.

Also checking all the doors shut correctly.

Thank you in advance for any responses.

My update in the beginning of December seems to have sorted out the problems.  The car is permanently online,  Skoda have a server in Germany, the cars talk t that. There are updates on line but this update is very large affecting various safety systems and has to be done at the dealers.

I have had no problems with doors.

Mysoftware version is 2460 it was one of the the first cars apparently, the software update doesn't seem to alter the software version number

Hope that helps

Thanks Celli.

Surprised the version doesn't update. Have just emailed the dealer asking them to check the update has been done.

Taking a photo of your screen and previous post. Will post again when I get the car and include a photo

Update: Based on the VIN, there is no new software update available for the car, so the latest service visit was completely unsuccessful. HOWEVER! The mechanic said they can continue the troubleshooting, BUT I should bring the car back with the factory tires for the next appointment. He believes that the wheels can cause some interesting electronic issues.

At the very end of December, I put on winter tires that are not the exact same size of the summer ones—they are more balloon-like, 65-profile, they are in good condition from my previous Kodiaq. (I asked the service beforehand if they could be used on the Superb, and the service advisor eventually said yes. The wheels and tires physically performed fine.)

However, following the new advice of the electronic specialist, I put the original summer tires back at home. After that, already on the short test driving, all the assistant error messages stopped…!

I took the car to the service as scheduled, but they found no new error messages and returned the car in the evening without doing anything again. Fortunately, the winter has been mild here (3-5°C), so I left the summer tires on and drove for a week—zero error messages.

The big question is whether I just got lucky and the flood of yellow warnings will return next week, but so far, so good—I've been using the car daily, even on highways.

So, this could be also a lesson: wheel size, tire pressure, etc., can matter more than expected!

Why the **** woukd you put 65 kodiaq tires lol

Thanks for that,  very interesting

.

Because when I sold my previous Kodiaq, I kept a one-year-old, low-mileage set of tires on alloy wheels. I asked the service if they could be fitted to the Superb, and they said yes, so I put them on. They fit well, and there was no issue with them at all. The speed measurements stayed also ok, I checked with GPS.

Except that maybe this is what confused the assistance systems. :)

But I’m not celebrating victory yet—only if everything still works fine after a month. For now, after just a week, this is just a status update.

2 weeks since I collected my SEL PHEV estate.

As mentioned previously, the day before I collected the car I asked the dealership to check the latest SW was installed, and it was.

On collection they told me the Map switch across to the drivers display was not working and they were waiting for an update. A little annoyed as during my test run of a PHEV Kodiaq I accidentally did the switch and it just said map loading. I explained this when I finished the test drive to the salesman whose car it was and was told, "dont worry". Thought I had somehow caused it. Would have preferred they just came clean on this.

On second day of ownership several warning lights appeared. Contacted dealer who wanted the car returned. Having read this thread I decided to wait and see if it cleared. After a short run and a restart it was all back to normal. I have seen the odd "front collision" symbol at start up but it soon goes - frosty morning...perhaps.

First attempt at charging was on a frosty morning - charge flap wouldn't open. There is no manual release for this. After several attempts lightly hitting the flap it opened - frozen perhaps - how would it work in Scandinavian countries?? Problem not reappeared. Also had the charge plug lock in. There is a manual release - best of luck getting to it! Involves removing plastic shroud over width of car below the windscreen wipers and then says take car to dealer.  Locked/unlocked the car several times and it came free.

Otherwise car has been free of troubles and I'm enjoying it. Still to work out and set all the many functions but doing it gradually.

I see some have cured problems by charging the 12v battery. I am hoping this won't be necessary as on my previous car, C5 phev, if the car wasn't used for three days issues would arise, no keyless operation, no pure EV mode etc. Found I had to charge the 12v battery weekly to stop this. Citroen I discovered had even put an additional 12v battery in the boot, probably to overcome this. I have read somewhere that when charging the Superb EV battery the 12v battery is charged as well. Cant remember where I saw this - possibly in the hdbk. Hoping this is the case as it makes a lot of sense.

Can anyone tell me where the 12v battery is on the PHEV model, I have yet to do a thorough search but pretty sure its not under the bonnet - no space (unless its buried ) and the hdbk says there are terminals under the bonnet should the battery need charging.

It is concerning when virtually all new cars with so much technology are delivered with problems. The customer should not be the last Quality Control stage.
