Software failure not so Superb

Featured Replies

Mine is scheduled for the update next week, they say I have to leave it for at least 2-3 days as it will be a long update affecting multiple control units. I have done the battery disconnect fix roughly 2 months ago and no issues eversince. Hope they do not mess up something new in the update.

  • Hello from Latvia! I also bought a Škoda Superb L&K 2.0TSI 4x4 (delivered in May 2024). Everything was fine until October 2024 (I drove around 5000 km at that point). I got 7 warnings related to

  • My wife's Superb was updated a week ago on 2nd December and there have been no problems since. She drove 320 miles at the weekend and all was well.   She's finally starting to enjoy the car

  • I got my car back yesterday,  33 miles on, no problems.  I know that is not far, but went wrong after 10 miles when I got it . So, let's hope,  fingers crossed!

My car was in the workshop for most of tuesday day....but...the dealer said yesterday:... currently getting an error message displayed (on the factory system not the car) when we reach a certain point of the update.

The saga continues

I would like to thank you so much Erik for your previous advices. I did the same thing for the battery (unplug-wait 20min. -plug-drive a few- then restart car). It worked. It’s perfectly working now.

I also agree about not to install the software until the next error. I’ll wait for software to be reliable. It’s not an advice for the people who has an errors currently. I just wanted to share my thoughts and wanted to thank Erik 🙏

Good news software update installed yesterday.

Bad news Sensor system still malfunctioning.

For info: My sensors sometimes work, sometimes only the front, sometimes only the back, sometimes not at all. there does not seem to be a pattern to the errors, very random can get in the car they work. Stop to go shopping they fail. next stop they work. very irritating.   (superb Estate L&K 24reg)

Thanks for that, that is depressing!  My dealer has tried to install the update but they are currently getting an error message displayed (on the factory system not the car) when they reach a certain point of the update.

All crap really

How long did they take to do the software install?

They had the car for three days but had some problems with their internet connection on the second day so I am not certain how long the download took.

Has anyone had the software update?  Did it work? My dealer has the car but  gone ominously quiet. Last week they said.....We are currently getting an error message displayed (on the factory system not the car) when we reach a certain point of the update.

They are not replying to me today, assume it's not working.  Anyone anything to report?

Hey! My car was updated today (dealer contacted me two weeks ago and let me know that they will receive update on 2nd December and will do update on DEMO cars before "trying" it on customer cars).
I will post update if I encounter issue again (or anything else).

It's with some nervousness I am picking my new Superb up this Friday (13th)....is that an omen?

I have asked my main dealer to confirm that this has the new software on it. Car was a factory order, put thru on 3rd October so from Order to Delivery we are looking at 10 weeks which is good.

I also saw something in here about missing blanking plates under the bumper, is that still a thing or has that now been sorted?

Software was issued/released Monday 2nd December.  It is Service Recall 91SV.

My dealer is having an issue with the car accepting the update and we are waiting for a reply from the SKODA technical department (factory based).

He says this is normal when an update is first released.

Check it has recall 91SV installed

Will do, many thanks.

Had mine in the garage for the software update. Took longer than a day and was kept overnight and ready the next morning. Seems ok so far.

I have a weird question. I noticed this carpet/trim to the right of the drivers footwell. Could any of you see if yours looks like this (I can get my finger down it) or if the trim hasn’t been refitted correctly?

Hi guys, i just received back my car from the "software update". Before i took it in a took a photo of the system information screen where it shows the version numbers and after getting it back it is exactly the same. Could someone post here the same screen just to see if there should be some newer version instead of mine... Many thanks!

What happens if you press show updates?  I am waiting to get mine back.  The service recall is  Service Campaign 91SV.

From this screen, tapping on it just simply shows no system updates available.

Hi! I did exactly same and I can confirm that my version numbers match yours 100%.
I also compared HMI versions before/after update - everything there also matches 100% before/after update.
I'm not super familiar of internal car software, but I would assume there is much more beyond what's exposed to user.

Had mine done today. My system info shows the same as your apart from the display unit/control panel software which in mine shows 4043.

I previously reported that my wife's Superb was working perfectly following the software update on 2nd December.

However, the errors all came up again today after a quick drive to the supermarket. The dealer is offering to have it back in for another look but it's clearly still not right. 😔

Oh bugger. Mines been done today. Doesn’t bode well. Any chance you could look at the system information and report on the display unit software version as above?

Why did it take so long the process? My agent called me the other day to discuss to set up a date and time for the update and said it would take 2-3 hours. What am I missing here?

For me they said it could take several days. I brought it in today at 8:00, received a call saying it is ready at 15:00... so max a couple of hours

I am guessing this is just some guideline provided from "above" that it COULD take several days but not likely

now that is weird seeing your screenshots. I took this picture on the 21s of november just to have it. so far havent seen any errors (besides when snow covers the cameras)

Edit: Only thing i can think off is a difference in country Finland vs UK and Left hand drive vs Right hand drive (maybe how it would measure drowsiness etc)
