Since you mentioned this - I was wondering if you know is there a similar SW version for the Cupra models? Of course, I'm asking for the Formentor in my signature; the Cupra online community seems to know nothing about such an update. Is there a list of changes/fixes for this new version?

Thanks!

There will be a Seat/Cupra version at the end of this montuur, that is what has been communicated.

  • Personally, not really in the spirit of the forum to be selling the update file.  Also, with no documentation, or indeed any reference to this update on the web, I would not install it at this point.

  • Just for clarification, in the past I supplied a lot of files for free. The costs that I made then we're not high and I could cover it with other works   However since last year the costs fo

  • I have now sourced the 1985 update package and installed successfully.  Everything seems fine but got a long journey tomorrow which will confirm its stability.  I’ll happily share it FOC over the week

So I have installed 1985 and it's a good upgrade of the Infotainment in my feelings. I like now Android Auto a bit more 😜

Can you be more specific? What change have you noticed?

The os Is more fluid it starts faster and the update of the resolution for Android Auto is a must have

I’ve been running 1985 for a week now. Apple CarPlay is the same if you’re rocking an iPhone. The system boots faster and has some smoother animations. That’s about everything I’ve noticed so far.

Android here and is better now for Android

Sorry this is my first post on here but i did notice on my iV that the firmware was lagging behind everyone on here. im still on 1803  So just how would you go about uploading the file so you can update your infotainment system, I'm a newbie to all this tech stuff , or am I better off having the main steeler do this for me.

Best get your dealer to do the first one, then if you can find it, find 1941 on here, there's a guide that I put together on page 26 (IIRC) of that thread, you can then do another for 1969.

If you're not comfortable with flashing devices with new firmwares then it's probably best that you leave it to those those who are or know exactly what they're doing or a skoda independent or local dealer.

So I'm taking it you can not just put the latest firmware on, but have to add them in sequence.

life was simple back in the day, if you wanted to change the rims on your car you could go straight from 12" to 15" you could, would have been a right royal pain in the butt changing an inch at at time 😉

update first to 1896 or 1899 and then you can update directly to 1985. Some update straight from 1985, but i dont advise it.

Also I have the TPI for firmware 1941 and it says that you can upgrade directly to 1941 so download 1941 update and than go to the latest 1985.

Here an image

Well if that's the case then if you can find an image of 1941 and follow the guide that I did (pg 26?) and if you feel comfortable about doing it then fine.

Of course there's the caveat: "You do this entirely at your own risk, the board is NOT responsible for any damage that may be caused"

Does anyone have the 1985 update files to share for free?

I'm happy to also host it on my drives to distribute it for free to other members of this forum.

Thank you kindly.

In case of need is it possible to go back to 1969? I've all last 3 version files 1941/1969/1985 installed in car 1969, but would like to go for the upgrade but be sure for possible downgrade if needed.

Correct. Firmware and Software security policies prevent you taking retrograde steps.

You either move forward or stick where you are with your current Firmware/Softwares.

It's a bit like most smartphones you get software & security updates each month and that's it.
