How to find exact spec....

Featured Replies

After spending a minute or two lifting my foot under the rear bumper, I've come to the conclusion that my newly-bought Jan 22 iV estate doesn't have that boot-opening feature.

The neighbours enjoyed the spectacle, though.

But it raised the question: how do I find the exact spec of this car (at least from when it was bought new)?

Of course the paper manual isn't specific to this car.

When the manual referred to a digital manual I thought 'ah, brilliant, they have a digital version specific to this VIN'.

That doesn't look like it's the case.

I bought the car from Motorpoint.  Don't laugh.

I foolishly didn't get a copy of the original ad, and that's now of course disappeared.

I know I can do it by trial and error.... but a definitive list would be helpful.

If you install the MySkoda app onto your phone there's a "Car details" function which shows everything fitted to your individual car.

I purchased my previous vehicle from Motorpoint, kept it for 3 years with no issues at all 🙂

Well, there's this thing called a "Vehicle Identification Number" (VIN) on the windscreen. There are various websites which will give you a detailed spec if you input the VIN.

Do what @Dr.D suggests, easy peasy way of getting spec sheet!

I might be doing something wrong, but I can’t see anything in the MySkoda app listing the fitted options.  I’m new here and have just purchased my first Škoda, a 2024 facelift First Edition hatchback.  Like the OP I would like to see the complete list.

I do have the original certificate of conformity which has a lot of letters and numbers in the ‘remarks’ section but I think there’re related to the emissions.

On the app I can see the main specifications such as model, trim, mileage, engine and gearbox.  Also there is the option to download the digital certificate - but that again has basic specification and service history.

can anyone shed more light on this please?  Thanks very much.

I now have the MySkoda app, but have failed to get the car to recognise me as the new main user and activate it.

I tried several times, following exact instructions.

I did get the service info (such as it is) from [email protected] within a couple of hours of emailing them, so I've tried them for the exact spec too.

At lest not being able to get the car to recognise my Skoda account will stop it saying 'Hello Peter' when I fire it up.

On the other hand, the message saying 'Don't forget your phone' was a really useful intervention.

I just had a look at my car in the app. The digital certificate includes a section entitled "Standard Equipment" - pages 4 and 5 just after the service history.

If I remember correctly, your Škoda ID has to be verified before it can be used as main user. Worth a call to a local dealer.

I think it's all to do with privacy and security - the Main User can unlock the car from the app.

Yeah, same: the digital certificate that I can see has the service history etc in first page or so, but if you scroll down there are further pages listed with all the bits the car comes with in pages 3 to 5

Thanks for the replies folks.  My digital certificate has only two pages with nothing after the service history.  My car is activated in the app.

I’m wondering if the data will come through in time as it’s only three days since I got the car - or if mine is a standard first edition with no extras.  However, your posts suggest the standard equipment is listed as well as extras.

For the definitive list of equipment fitted, you can contact Skoda customer services and request a build sheet. You'll probably have to provide proof of ownership, such as V5 scan.

Or, 7 eur for one hour access to eriwn. Enough to download everything related to your car, including it's full spec with codes and descriptions, as well as TPIs, repair manuals, etc.

Similar thread may help

From recent posts on here, I think car data is no longer offered to private individuals accessing erWin. May only be a UK thing, not sure.

Skoda customer services kindly replied to my email, but the specs they sent are as minimal as the service info:

Metallic paint, black upholstery,

'Optional equipment

-100. Rest

- Factory steering code'

Child lock in rear doors (manual).

Not exactly useful.

From memory, when I do a service and go in to ERWIN to update the service history it comes up with a list of original / added extras the car left the factory with.

I might be able to check this for you.

OR, @pingpongpete1, you can pay and ask for a digital Car Data document from:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/226517872578?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=nGO17j9xSwi&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=b7yi6osrr9a&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

PS: I don't know this seller, I only used his service, so bear in mind that I'm not indented to do any sort of advertising.

Cheers

For 3 euros it was worth a try!  cheers, will post here if the results are useful.

Just been outside in the dark and kicked out behind the rear number plate, I'm giddy with delight that the boot opened.

My problem is that I put my VIN into the Skoda site and no manual is available so I'm doing everything from the How To Videos in the Skoda App

Anybody else had this?

I've pasted it straight from the Skoda App, but I'll take a look.

I think I know why.... it turned out that one of the key batteries was totally dead.  I imagine the car has to recognise both keys for the log-in to work.  This was actually one of many little niggles with the car that I bought through Motorpoint,  When it was delivered, the rear wiper was squealing horribly, and the heating seemed to have a life of its own - stiflingly hot.  Later I discovered there was no tyre inflation system.  I think Motorpoint had rushed the car out without a proper check.  The service info at three years was almost non-existent too.  They'd have probably fixed these issues, but I discovered two major personal downsides to the iV estate,

1,) I can't put any charging equipment on my house because it's listed (local authority crazily turned this down on another house a few months ago).  Not even a 13A socket!

2.) The reduced boot space meant I had to fit the dog crate crossways rather than longways - and that practically used up all the boot space.

So it's going back - a shame because there's something really nice about going off on a little trip to a park to walk the dog and coming back with not a ml of petrol used.

Motorpoint have been really good about accepting the return.  I'll probably lose the 299 quid delivery charge, but that's life.

Hi OP!

I think the name of the feature you're looking for is "Virtual Pedal". At least this is how it shows up in the equipment list of my Octavia 4 FL that I ordered.

My digital certificate is one page only. There is no information about equipment.

How can the Skoda app produce 5-page outputs for some users and only single page for some? This seems strange.

I would also like to find a way to confirm the specification of the vehicle beyond the engine and gearbox.
