Fabia vrs air intake mod to pd160 intake pipe

Featured Replies

They seem, to all intents and purposes, to be focusing on making even more money out of people buying these. So where would the logic be in then applying a discount via a GB?

I'd agree with Wardy on this one, it's highly unlikely a discount would be offered as they seem to believe the market will happily pay

I can see where you're heading with the idea, and it makes sense to us on this 'side of the fence', but I just can't see how you'd even start to peddle the idea to Seat. Would you contact HQ, a larger dealer or what? I can just see it being a waste of time...

I saw the Forge prototype on Sunday and it certainly has the potential to be better than the PD160 offering, which is great news I think. Probably early days and some work left to do, with fitting lugs and choice of materials perhaps, but looks very promising...

Steve

Doubt a large Company such as Seat would entertain a Group Buy to be honest.

But I am very interested in the Forge prototype, now that Seat have hiked the price of the PD 160 intake up.

Has Awesome given a timescale for the product to be released for sale, if it goes into production.

I would agree with the above statement and would also like to see the results from the prototype :D If the part when finished looks the same as the original I would be interested in buying one :)

Has forge mentioned a price? I think

All in good time, I'm sure. And nobody said the Forge item would end up being plastic ;)

Hi

I do know that it is all down at Forge at the mo.

The prototype that was here was not going to be the finnished product

It was definately interesting but needed some more workings on

I have had a word with Pete @ Forge this morning and it having more work done to it

As soon as i get some word back then I will let you know

But it is definately getting interesting

Are we talking days, weeks or months for the first items to be hitting the shelves? I'm wondering whether to buy one through Seat (God forbid) or hold out a little while longer as i'd like one on my VRS ASAP!

To be honest Mac I would just wait a little longer let the boffins do their work. :D

Believe I am in the same boat as you, car has been mapped but still has the original intake fitted which is fine but you are wanting to upgrade the intake and filter.

I would hope it will be weeks and not months :D

I do know Pete and if there is a chance that Forge can do a product that suits it will be done

It is off at the moment getting more work done , so fingers crossed

Forge will not cash in on this and charge a silly amount for something that is not neccisary because the other ones are stupidly priced ;)

It will be an honest price for an honest piece of work

No worries Sarah, sounds like you've got a few of us on the edge of our seats. Think i'll sort out getting the green cotton air filter in the mean time, any suggestions as to the cheapest supplier, i.e. an autoparts website?

i have a pd160 intake pipe and trumpet for sale in the items for sale section if anyone is interested

Is the Seat Ibiza 2006 1.9 diesel engine the PD160? I have found one in a scrappy which I am planning on getting the parts from if its the correct car.

Just ordered both parts from JCT Seat in Yeadon, Leeds for

HI

You could try Badger5 for the Green

We do K&N or Pipercross

I have Pipercross in mine for a while with over 40k on

It may not be. The 1.9 came in both guises.....PD130 and PD160. I think it also came in PD100 too so just cos it's a 1.9 does not mean it's a PD160 which is the one you're after.

In fact it could be an SDi too.

I'd deffo be interested in this intake if it comes up for sale

Thanks for the update Sarah, and also for the link for the air filter!

As far as i'm aware the PD160 intake is only fitted to the Ibiza Cupra diesel and not any of the other ibiza diesels....... The FR is the same engine as the vRS and the sport has the 100 fitted.

Cheers

Dave.

i bought a PD160 intake and trupet from listers seat in coventry, and was 70 odd quid.

cupra console bushes were 6 pound each.

Correct. It's the one model that has it. The rest of the PD Ibizas and Polos have the same standard pipe and trumpet that the vRS rolls out of the factory with.

Steve

Will this mod fit any PD engine, for example a PD105 Passat B6?

I believe the routing and length required will be different. But I've not tried myself...

Steve

Cheers Steve,

Just getting to grips with this diesel stuff after so long with the VRS and to be honest I had a Pug 306 Dturbo S before but never fettled with it, so toying with what to do if anything, a remap is on the cards once the warranty is up, my wife is surprising keen!
