Model year 2017

Recommended Posts

Dear forum members,

I am considering buying Superb (L&K, 190 dsl, liftback). I just realised that there might come minor changes pretty soon with model year 2017 (eg. some chrome bling-bling in L&K).

If I understood correctly German forum (http://www.skodacommunity.de/threads/aenderungen-mj2017.103691/) changes start in production week 22. Or have I just understood something wrong with my terrible German skills.

If I order now, will my Superb be 2017 model (considering long queue in production)? In other words: if ordered now will model year change even if model year was 2016 at time of purchase?

Thank you.

Welcome

we are currently in week 11 so yes if you ordered today yours should be a MY17 car.

Personally though I would hang fire for a couple of weeks just to be sure, as sods law would mean I had the very last MY16 Superb built!

Nivomat is a self levelling system IIRC ??

I know the Sportline has red LED lighting colours.

Yes nivomat is back axle self leveling. Personaly I'm going to postpone my order to end of this summer because list of goodies is just getting longer and longer.

.....and the price is increasing accordingly.

I read from a forum that there are more changes, such as:

Bolero and Amundsen go from 6.5" to 8"

Progressive steering availability (only with sport suspension)

Rear camera with washer (only if specced with rear wiper)

I have no idea where these things are announced officially though.

I've talked to my dealer today about MY17 changes and he told me that Amundsen will be fitted with an 8" screen, the QI-phonebox will be possible to order and also a heated steering wheel will be available to order from week 17 here in Sweden.

He also told me that last weeks orders will be delivered in less than 10 weeks, probably around 8 weeks unless you order a fully spec'ed car...

So just a couple of more weeks waiting until I pull the trigger for a brand new Superb, my old one (2010, 180k+ miles!) has served me well, but it's age is starting to show and I'm afraid the repair bills will be plentiful if I keep it for much longer...

Hi all :hi: ,

Placed my order for an SIII 190 DSG SEL (have added a fair few extras) on 21st March (week 12), is it likely to be a 2017 M/Y? I have been told delivery should be by week 27.

Ryan

ps. fantastic forum

It will be MY 2017 if its built from Week 22 onwards, remember that build weeks and delivery are 2 different things, it can take 6-8 weeks to be delivered after it is built as it is shipped from the factory by train to the port in Emden in Germany, shipped to one of 3 UK ports and then transported to the dealers.

Some more info that applies to Swedish Superbs;

Improved sound-proofing

KESSY standard on Style and L&K trims

High pressure washer on reverse camera (on Combi models)

New internal rear view mirror (no edges)

New remote control for the aux heater (more Skoda-like in it's design than current model)

New 19" rims in glossy black

Some new colours (7 if I recall properly)

Heated steering wheel will be in production from W45, but can be ordered from W17...

1,6TDI/120PS GreenLine can be ordered from W17

Sportsline will appear as well, no info on details but my dealer guess that it was "twin exhausts and other cosmetics"

Prices has not been communicated, but some increase is expected according to the dealer.

That's about it...

  • 4 weeks later...

The Skoda website now lists the spec upgrades from Week 22 production but only shows... (under the features and spec tab)

  • Phone box (+ wireless charging from week 22, 2016)

And that's just for the SE Business - no mention of any other spec increase for any other trim level.

Maybe it's just my eyes that are not working this morning but seems like the 19 Antracite whels have changed to black in the configurator. Checked the Norwegain and English config.
