  2. heya. i found fixing the speaker wires easier than trying to find a fitting speaker for the enclosure. if you still have the old one i'd be happy to give it a go. also, please post the file on makerworld as well. i'll help out with some print profiles
  3. Hello!! I've been having some starting issues with my Fabia Mk1 HTP recently. Sometimes it doesn't react to the key being in the start position. No cranking, no noise (other than the fuel pump buzzing in the back). After some fiddling with key, or a fast turn it starts and runs fine. Now, after replacing the battery the issue seemed to go away and it had been starting perfectly. Two days later it looks like the problem is coming back, but now the fast turn of the key doesn't make a difference. Also, it doesn't look like it matters whether or not it's a cold start. What could be causing this?
  4. I'm trying to format my SD card to the FAT version but keep seeing this error message appear. Any ideas what else i could do? I am using a mac! By the way i am using a brand new 64GB SanDisk SD Card

  7. Electroverse have quite often taken nothing from my credit card that they have the info to charge from. I notice it is sometimes where first the CPS rfid card will not start a chsrgrer and then i use the Electroverse card and it takes an attempt or 3 before accepted. I have 2 cards from them. The one i use never shows as ever having any sessions used on it. But it has been used plenty and been paid for those sessions. I think with CPS i am up on free charges compared ti being charged for false starts and my complaint ignored.
  8. The £10 was pending i seem to remember but now shows not pending ie will appear on next statement. Dont mind paying full rate just confused by the nature of the process and the timescales, thanks fir your information. At least it was not a £45 like MFG takes as a deposit, or more !!
  9. Welcome to the forum. Two things to check first - Have the battery properly load tested. Carefully check all battery and alternator connections for tightness and freedom from any corrosion/oxidation.
  10. New user 1st time Skoda owner in Hampshire just saying hi. Just got a 4 month old ex demo Skoda Scala 1. TSI Monte Carlo today, part exchanged an MX5 ND for it plus finance, I have much to learn! Currently have a series 1 Nissan Elgrand aswell which is great to drive, but very thirsty, will look to sell that on in the near future. lawlozuk
  11. So if it now shows as the charge that may be all you pay and the chargepoint made the error If though the hold disappeared, Gridserve's payment gateway retains the credit token generated during the session. If their automated system encounters a back-end batching delay or a software glitch, it can take up to 30 days for the final usage charge to appear on the statement as a finalized transaction. I also got Public EV chargers occasionally drop their internet connections or experience offline terminal timeouts mid-session. When this happens, Gridserve's central server may register the charge as a failed or aborted transaction, meaning it completely abandons the payment capture. The £10 hold drops away, and the user essentially receives a free charge. Your answer wasn't really clear as to whether it was still there
  12. No not showing pending any more, weird. Think they might slip another charge through minus the tenner ? It is my end of period and statement tomorrow ! Thanks.

  14. Thank you for the info on this, i had wondered if that maybe the case. His retrofit project looked mind blowing. Yeah I'll call around some of the VAG indie garages. Hahaha no not in the market for a swap as I've gone ID7 tourer, nearest match EV i could get. I'll have some accessories to selltho Inc winter wheels+tyres, it maybe useful to chat to a garage about some of it.
  15. Is it showing as "pending" or is it now processed as the charge
  16. Sadly, I doubt that you'll be that lucky.
  17. I find the most annoying and completely useless addition is the Attention Warning. Think on this, you are paying attention to all road users and suddenly an alarm sounds and a red Warning flashes on the dash, taking your attention away from the road and so adding to the risk of an accident. My Kamiq warns every 4 minutes or so despite my eyes never leaving the road. Having to scroll through the menus to turn it off everytime i start the car is driving me nuts. Time to get rid of this non safety system.
  18. My son knows more about the trains than I do unless it’s the 70s or 80s! A bit of a mixed bag on the ECML The longer LNER Azumas that are fast to London or the cross country type services which I think this is one of, which stop more frequently usually 4/5 coaches. Was on a two coach train the other day on the old Waverly route. Not a good experience. lol
  19. EV drivers, newspapers etc, constantly quote the Gridserve 90p per KWh charge price, and as the dominate motorway services are used to "show" how expensive EV charging can be. Last month did one of my rare public charges which was at a Gridseve bank of chargers. Got deducted the £10 deposit from my Am Ex card and for the last 15 days been watching my Am Ex live statement on the Am Ex website. Nothing, was expecting about a £35 charge as downloaded about 40 KWhs. Is there a time limit on how quick they put thru the actual cist of charge ? If Gridserve have missed the boat then I have had a 25p per KWh charge from them !!
  20. He also is just plain wrong on several counts. Renault 4 is not roomy, back seats are only for those under 6 foor. Could not work out if it was a price which factors in government grants so not as big a discount from the manufacturer. Also what batteries are they ? Not mentioned that which can be key.
  21. Hello all, new to the site and looking forward to swapping stories, gripes, fun, etc. Second skoda just arrived, same make different colour. Both are a joy to drive but I have some ?s on new setup. Keep them for later All the best DM
  22. The problem with videos like this is that they are not giving the real truth, as often the reason for these discounts is that they might well be high on the insurers' risk lists and might well result in extremely high insurance costs. To avoid that statement being misconstrued as coming from a perceived EV hater (☹️) there are also loads of ICE cars that the insurers have also placed high on their risk list for a number of reasons, ranging from a Ford Fiesta up to Range Rovers. Some of these reasons are the cost of items like headlamps and replacement windscreens (£350 for a Fiesta windscreen as opposed to almost £2,000 for a Tesla) and of course there is the old postcode lottery, as certain cars are sometimes uninsurable depending on location. Many of the Chinese cars, regardless of their drivetrain, are extremely high on their lists because of their perceived support available. Lack of dealers, lack of parts and lack of knowledgeable and skilled people in the event of EVs repairs if and when they go wrong. I would advise anyone tempted by one of those apparently blinding offers to get a firm and binding insurance quote before agreeing to buy the car; they might well discover the real reason for their bargain-basement price, and this is applicable to ICE cars as well – just avoid any confusion. You really do need to pick up the stone and see what is lurking beneath it before making any purchase decision.
  23. hi all, a few months back i drained and filled my MK2 manual gearbox with 75W gearbox oil and since then the gear changes dont feel as smooth. So i was wondering if moving to a 75W80 ( suggested by a friend ) gear oil will make any real world difference or what would be the suggestions for a 15year old car with 250,000KM on the clock?. thanks in advance brendan

  25. If those in charge did that, then the message would be so much more powerful in the eyes of others, but when they give a diktat that we should all be looking at and adopting the electric option, even if home charging is off the table for most drivers. But you don't see them in electric cars, armoured or not; then it's right back at the same level as BJ and his cabinet when they were having office parties and gatherings while others had the police knock their front doors down and were prosecuted for it. If you really want people to take the advice, then they themselves need to take the lead and set the examples. They would get a far better take-up rate if they had loads of charging hubs all over the place, loads more than there are currently, and these hubs need to be either government-funded and operated or part of the national grid or network operators. Have software installed in cars that identifies the car, its owner and who their current power supplier is, and then they get billed directly by that supplier at the special concessionary rate, so it enables all drivers to tap into the system and cars regardless of whether they can charge at home or not. Keep the PPM scheme to help replace the fuel duty so those who do a lot of miles pay pro rata as do ICE drivers. Take away all the refunds tax incentives, etc. If they had proper joined-up thinking like that in the beginning, then they might have witnessed many more EVs on the road right now.
  26. Also sound Will be upgraded with new 8 channel amp Helix V right SDP Ultimate so every speaker (8 of them Hertz Mile Legend) Will be on its own channel, directly connected to DSP,without pasive croaovers as it's now📢📢📢🥁🥁🥁🔊🔊🔊
  27. Thanks, I've tried going somewhere with a good signal. My dealer blamed a faulty aerial on the 'control panel ' as to why it wasn't communicating but that's fixed now.
  28. Some New custom tsilight project to cine on nese future. This is working svetih Razor blades DRL Red inserts brake White inserts reverse and turn signal
  29. Just a thought. We had a similar problem and it was resolved by going to a supermarket car park where there was a mobile phone signal and then things worked. Like large parts of the UK our drive doesn't have a usable phone signal.
