  1. A rare moment with both the Superb and the Yeti clean 😎 Washed, clayed, polished with Autoglym SRP and finished with a coat of Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection.
  2. So I could have sworn the SportLine I had in a few weeks ago had a radio splash screen that said SportLine. That car was a 2017 with MIB2 Columbus. Not sure if this only affects the cars with Amundsen but apparently there are people out there who have SportLine Superb’s and the radio splash screen just has the normal ‘Welcome to Skoda’ screen like the late 2018 (MY19) car I had in yesterday. So if this affects you, coding is 5F Byte 18 and you change the value from 8 to 13 in text mode, reset the radio and boom! SportLine splash screen. You’re welcome 😁 Also coded other goodies like the seat comfort access with working radio toggle And 30 colour lighting with pre coding for RGB footwell lighting which is a retrofit that is coming soon!!
  3. Another day, another reverse camera and I’m very proud to say that I can confirm the reverse camera can be fitted to the 2020 model year Facelift Superb. The camera fitting on these is a bit different with the new rear plinth but that actually makes it easier to fit. I am super pleased I could confirm this works on the FL Superb. Additionally, as this car is an SE-L with the A5 camera as standard for Dynamic Light Assist, I was able to code Lane Assist for the owner, a £535 option from Skoda, coded in 20 mins! Annoying the TSR is now an FeC on the 2Q0 A5 camera so I don’t have the option to code that unfortunately. Other options coded include Comfort entry on the drivers seat Skoda Surround and Virtual Sub DLA always active Fan speed lights in Auto climate and AirCare always active Automatic Summertime for clock Refuel quantity in Maxidot Lock/Unlock Chirp

Greetings, Those that know me, or know of me, will know that as long as my Octavia, I also have a MG ZS to play with. Well, as fun as the MG has been, I've been hankering after something with a bit more grunt so I can go faster on track days. After much thought, I decided a good prospect would be a MK1 Audi TT. Cheap to buy at the moment, quick and good handling out of the box and good availability of parts and bolt on upgrades. I started to keep an eye out for a decent TT with the intent of preparing and upgrading it for track work. Had my eye on a couple but then stumbled upon one that has already been prepared to pretty much the spec I was aiming at. It was a long way away, 300 mile round trip, but it wasn't something I could pass up on so I arranged a viewing, hitched up my trailer and went and had a look. It needs some attention to the paintwork but underneath and mechanically it's good so a deal was done. It's a 225 BAM engined Quattro. It's stripped out, lowered, has bucket seats, decat, a new set of track rubber on and its been mapped so should be over 250bhp as it sits. Certainly pulls well. Plan is to go right through it and sort anything that needs attention as I'll be looking to push it hard on track. I started taking bits off the engine this afternoon. All the pcv hoses are past their best so I'm going to replace the whole lot with a catch can set up. I even managed to make a split in the turbo intake pipe as the oily stuff from the pcv system had caused it to rot. No bother, as high on my list of upgrades was a Badger 5 oversize TIP anyway. Whilst the inlet manifold was off, I've cleaned it right up and will be painting it a nice matt red colour with VHT paint along with a replacement cam cover so it'll look a bit nicer under the bonnet. Along with the new intake, I've also ordered a Newsouth Power Gasket, to help reduce heat transfer between the head and the mani and whilst I was on a shopping spree, I've also ordered a nice set of billet injector cups. So whilst I await all the parts I've ordered the engine bay is currently looking like this: Once I've got it all back together, I'll be giving it a full service along with dropping the sump to change the pickup pipe and I'll stick a fresh cambelt and water pump on it. Once I'm happy with the mechanicals, I'll have a look at the cosmetics as like I said earlier, the paint work isn't the best. The roof needs sanding and repainting ideally and also the driver's side has a different silver door so I'll keep my eye out for one in the correct colour. I've got a track day at Donnington booked in 6 weeks time so I'd like to have it all sorted a bit before that so I can MOT it and drive it a bit before hand. No pressure
  5. Never created a topic on international forums. Because I really get a lot of information on Briskoda from fellow users, I think it is fair enough to show you guys my own car and what I've done to it. On 17th of April this year, I bought a Skoda Fabia MK2 1.2TSI 105bhp from 2010. Car itself is quite loaded and the owner before me already did some upgrades to it. How I got the car (changes I could see and find were the Eibach springs, Fabia mk3 wheels, retrofit Xenon headlights, Monte Carlo front grille and shifter. After I've collected my car and drove it around, the hunting for parts and upgrades started. Genuine Skoda roofracks. The speedo meter needle had issues (LED was trippin') so I've upgraded them from plain white to green. After that, I've tinted the windows by myself. No bubbles or weird cracks. Seems fully original. Very pleased with the results for a DIY. Added some colour (RGB) to the interior by placing ambient lights. Bought for a very good price a set of VRS wheels in 17" They needed a refurb but who cares for 100euros including tyres. Bought some Brembo 4 pots 323MM brakes from a Seat Leon Cupra R. No I don't need that moch stopping power (I know you guys love the 312mm setup and you upgrade the brakes after you upgrade the power ) but I always love to have big brakes because of 2 major things in my opinion: 1. Looks way better and cooler and 2nd. stopping better and earlier is safer in any circumstance. I've restored the calipers myself and painted them Skoda Rally Green. After fitting them on the car, the VRS wheels didn't fit anymore (the inside of the wheel is not meant to fit a BBK). Bought (again) for very cheap a seat of Audi TT wheels (I mean.. 50euros for a set?!) Bought some rubber in the correct size (205/40/17) and mounted them on the wheels and fitted them on the car. I was keen with what I had till I saw a good KW V2 set on sale for a fair price.. Well, we know what happened next lol After getting frustrated by the look of the wheels, I've decided to give them some paint. Primer: Graphite metallic: And this is how the car is right now Thats it for now. Plan is to fix the squeaking accessories belt and I'll try to drive it like how it is for a couple of months. when the turbo claps out, I'll swap it for a hybrid one to get to plusminus 170bhp with a custom remap. also wanna make the front lights darker since it is way to bright (don't like chrome). Thats it for now, will update later.
  6. I bought my Citroen Relay for £1600 six+ years ago. I spent around £2k on the conversion making a lot of the interior parts myself and trimming things up etc. We holidayed in it for that time, maybe every other month for weekends away and during school breaks. Less than £100 for a pitch for a long weekend. Had a great time with family, very relaxing indeed. I sold the camper a few weeks ago for £6500. In my view (and in my case) I would say that was pretty financially viable.

Typical. Take the Senna for a run and it starts raining. Still trying to get a pre order. 🙁
  8. Looking for pics of yellow mk1 vrs. As in my opinion it's the best colour skoda did. Here is Mine. It is completely factory fresh.
  9. Thought I'd share an easy and very cheap £6.50 chrome delete. So basically looked online. Quite pricey for just a black bit of trim. Thought I would take a chance on doing it my self. Stripped the grill off the car and cleaned the chrome piece with a degreaser. I then used Halfords black bumper paint £6.50. Apply lots of thin coats. 9-10 coats. Roughly 2/3rds of a can. I am massively pleased with the out come and have attached a few pics.
  10. Decided I needed a replacement for the 330d and again the Octavia came out top. Found this one near by as a ‘we’ll just go test drive it see what we think’ as it was the first Octavia we looked at. Really good price And top spec with under 65k miles 2014 car. Some pics as i bought it..

Here's hoping i have better luck with an X-Box in the morning.
  12. That’s a MIB1 Bolero in the glovebox. Screen is aftermarket so I couldn’t say what’s up. Take the screen out and see what’s what. Is the ‘screen’ a standalone unit or is there some connection to the radio?
  13. Nice choice, looking forward to seeing more pictures of it

  15. Well she’s almost here... just awaiting PDI 😊
  16. Oh, those... They are just showing the rear seat belts are not fastened. Buckle either in and the symbol changes for the appropriate belt. I think you may have previously not noticed them when starting the car.
  17. Well considering that in general a 50yr old Porsche is worth far more than it's purchase price I would suggest to the HP company that a 50yr 0% plan is, in fact, a safe bet so to speak. they may make you give them the car back in your will but tbh I think that might be a fair compromise.
  18. Yes ... You really want the same brand / model on each axle (as well as speed and load index etc), I would put the same on, if I couldnt then i would consider 2 new ones and flog the 7mm one

  21. Slides the seat back when you leave the car and forward again when you get back in.
  22. Ok but the point I’m making is you can put the Hive anywhere with no consideration. The Nest needs to be powered so you have to put a lot more time, effort and/or money into having it where you desire.
  23. ok - I'm at work so I'll update later. Thanks for your help.
  24. A few days ago now, ajw1100 mentioned this 'bong' chime could be associated with a dashcam. Yup, it sure is! After exhaustive testing, note keeping and observations, I realise the sound only happens when my Aukey dashcam boots up or saves its video files. Thanks ajw1100

    I did this way
  26. Thankfully this has been now fixed. Black badges fitted and they look, well, Superb! Both circular ones need most work, the Skoda and the Superb were simple to be fair.

I fitted those 4 years ago (with extra washers) and they are still working great.
  30. Try Skoda Parts. They can usually source 99.9% of stuff, just email them if you can't find it.
  31. Got round to doing a few bits and pieces I've been meaning to do for a while. Fitted the footrest cover to match the pedals and a rear bumper protector from Superskoda. Also having taken inspiration from threads on here (particularly Gizmo's very helpful VCDS tried and tested thread 👍) made a few adaptations via OBDeleven. Have activated traffic sign recognition, easy entry/exit on the drivers seat, Scandinavian DRL, refuel quantity on dashboard and DRL on/off option in infotainment.
  32. I would consider a sports cat. Not a lot of difference in flow between a good sports cat and a decat.
  33. Nothing much to report other than I gave the car a going over with the rotary polisher. In reality the rear bumper and bonnet could do with a respray but overall the paint is in pretty good condition for its age. The trouble is that I have yet to find a local paint shop whose work I rate enough to give my money to. We had a decent chap round here once but he gave it up as he didn't make any money due to being a perfectionist.
  34. Another captured same day in st ives
  35. No thats much better amanda ,its a heavy crop as it were quite far away ,and had to bring some highlights out in the bird due to the bright light over the sea 👍
  36. I hope you don't mind I ran that through a prog and removed most of the purple fringing (high contrast edges can do that as you know) It's a great catch

  39. Irrelevant post again about how powerful your car is. You are boring, create a thread about yourself and your car and post every few hours about fast and powerful your cars are. You can keep reading about yourself over abd over again then.

  44. I can see it taking off in a big way from this point forward. Pretty much all manufacturers are into it. Hybrids been going long enough now for any generic problems to have been exposed. Running costs are low and reliability is pretty good. (The Toyota Prius has a pretty good reputation, and even quite old examples are still reliable.) The "milk-float" perception is disappearing fast, as the 100% torque from 0RPM makes electric vehicles very quick off the mark, which was a reservation I had. I'm not sure what the leasing costs are like, but I'd expect residuals to be fairly good on a car within warranty. I think the final hurdle will be charge times. If you need to make a long journey, you need to factor in finding somewhere to charge your car, and the time it takes to charge. However there seem to be more charge stations springing up all the time, and EV ranges are improving. If the government hikes the tax on petrol and diesel vehicles, and more and more pollution charges are introduced in cities, I can see EVs taking off in a big way. It was the same story with diesels. They had a bad rep, then people found reasons to buy them and they became popular. (Then the government & EU intervened and now diesels are falling in popularity.) I don't much care for EVs, but then I can't imagine buying an SUV either, and look how popular they are.
  45. I've finally got round to fitting the catch can. I got a shopping list of the things I needed from 'niceyellow vrs' which helped a lot, so that was much appreciated.👍 Having mulled over where to put the catch can, I settled on where the two relays sit at the rear of the engine bay. I watched a YouTube video of a catch can install on a Mk1 Audi TT and they tucked the relays into the housing to the right of the relay unit and it seemed to work well. Following this method, I did the same and both relays fitted nicely without too much of a struggle. When faffing around mocking up different brackets to attach the can to the original bodywork & holes, I had the idea of using the original relay box. The can fits nicely in there so I held it in place with a couple of cable ties just to see what it would look like. It turns out that if I placed the two bolts that came with the can in opposite diagonal holes, the cable ties don't slide off and the can is nice and secure. For now, I'll leave things as they are as to remove the can all I have to do is undo the two hoses and the whole unit unclips off the original bracket along with the plastic housing. To empty the can it's simply a case of sliding the cable ties over the bolts, take the can out and empty it. I may redo this at some point but seeing as it's so secure and tucked away, it isn't too much hassle to loosen two jubilee clips to empty the can. To allow the pipe to connect to the 'hockey puck' I rotated it 90 degrees anticlockwise. Also, it took just under 60cm of hose to complete the job so if anyone is thinking of doing anything similar it gives you an idea of how much to order. Anyway, I've put some photos below for folks to look at and to give their opinions on the install.
