  1. Good Day Everyone! Mine has also arrived to the dealer this Tuesday (2022.03.01.). Ordered in July 6th, 1.5TSi Style with dynamic interior. Please find some pictures
  2. It's entirely possible that it's a coincidence and another, unrelated fault has appeared while the work was being done. A diagnostic plug in will confirm where the fault lies. The simplest thing to check from a self help stand point is the electrical connection to the ABS sensor, take the wheel off and you will be able to check that the connector is seated properly. If the fault wasn't present before the bearing went in then I suspect the sensor has possibly taken a knock or gotten damaged during the changing of the bearing. The only fix is a new sensor which isn't the end of the world. The other, catastrophist diagnosis is that the mechanic has damaged the bearing while fitting it. If this turns out to be the case, they should sort it for you.

Here we go again, did someone call the HGV/PSV safety police into this small hatchback thread? 🐽
  4. Just to close this one off. Spare key reprogrammed and now working. They also replaced the rear light cluster which kept fogging up.
  5. Just seen the previous two replies from "atalkingape" and "Kindpunx666". I will contact "atalkingape" with the offer of first refusal, since they asked first, when I have fitted my roof rails. Thanks, Sparkgap.
  6. Right, so here are a few photos of my Scala 🙂 Nope, that oil spot isn't from Scala 😄
  7. Makes sense when a couple of us waiting are emergency services discount vehicles. I might write to the papers, proper "I worked through the pandemic" compo face 🤣
  8. @BisonAre you not looking at the Coolant Gauge that gets to a 90*oC indicated. EDIT. Is there no oil temp in the Maxidot? Please read about The Fix and some peoples experiences and increased fuel consumption. The Fix can be rolled back and a remap done and the flow device removed if there.
  9. Was tempted to get a new car when pcp ran out but only wanted more power, so I eventually decided on revo stage three, I’m glad I did because it’s crazy fast and faster than anything else I was looking at. Making this post to show what I’ve done and what I plan to do. Engine revo three, went with carbon Has revo performance pack, hi flow scorpion cat, is38 turbo, new intercooler, stage three remap for engine and dsg software. I didn’t upgrade the exhaust, I want to keep the car as quite as I can. Then I wanted to add some subtle upgrades, as I don’t want it to be obvious this car is fast 😄 maxton design front splitter, was easy to install, just used 10 self tapping screws black grill, had silver before and hated it. Destroyed the old one trying to get it out, but was easy when I gave up trying the save the old one. diffuser, took me way too long to get this in, need a better picture of it. The screws it came with were too big for the middle so had to make some work arounds. Also added extra screws to the sides otherwise it wasn’t a good fit. Adding both of these have made my test runs 0.2 seconds quicker on average, so I think it was worth it. next on my list: I have a rear reflector I’m waiting for. black badges. removing all the Vindis stickers. Just brought some led interior lights retrofit heated seats. add reverse camera. find a way to get satnav into the radio. find a dyno, to see what my power is. slick tyres and light weight alloys for Santa pod next year. Anything else you guys think I should do?

Great. It's always good to have some small wins against MIB III 😉
  11. Yeah as I understand it the dealers with carwow effectively give up all commission to offer those deals. And try to make it back as you say by hitting their stretch targets for large bonus. Speaking to those in the trade though it’s a risky old business and it’s why most don‘t sell that way. Even the carwow dealers sell normally to customers too so it’s not like 100% of their custom but still. It probably works for a handful which is why they do it.
  12. @snealsorry had missed the tag. They replaced the ceiling light, previous one background was black but the new one has a white background. Seems to work well. I have a few more issues but won't hijack the thread with them...
  13. Replace the master cylinder.
  14. I just bet the mechanic used the wrong type of bearing press and damaged it during fitting.
  15. Just bought a 2nd hand Skoda Fabia MK3 from 2015 and really happy about the car. I am now looking to customize it, I see many valuable information in this site.
  16. My name is Alexandar, and i have bought octavia A7, 1.6 tdi, 81kw.
  17. Hi all I'm new to this forum currently driving skoda fabia mk1 encountering big and small problems I'm a d. I. Y man when it comes to the smallies hope some of you experienced guys can help point in the right direction when needed.
  18. Howdy and a warm welcome to Briskoda from a fellow Fabia Mk1 owner!

I've had 5 and apart from the last one, all have been superb to drive, the last one has been a pain in the bum. So I think that you shouldn't think the worst of the marque just yet. That may sound a bit hypocritical of me especially with the hammering I've been giving them here, along with a considerable number of other owners and former owners of Mk4s. I think that they've just tried to be too clever for their own good TBQH and given time they will get it 99% right in the time that it's going to make the cars on order. Also they've been a victim of their own previous success and the Covid pandemic which has not only thrown Skoda into turmoil but the whole car manufacturing industry and as the world slowly continues to come out of the Covid pandemic disaster, we as consumers should slowly see thing's improve. I think that the automotive industry really does need to come together and consider the benefits and option of building silicon chip manufacturing plants just for their own business to prevent this sort of fiasco from reoccurring though. Just hang on in there, I think that I'll be joining the queue for a new car soon, although it might be a Mk5 by that happens.
  20. ok guys, another update: i have just replaced the flat tyre and the mechanic noticed that the size on the spare wheel is in fact same as my other wheels. i told him that it looks smaller on the cat though and it was because the alloy/metal part on the spare wheel is smaller than the alloys on the other wheels. i have never thought to look at the sizes that is on the spare wheel. the mechanic also told me the sticker is on by defualt as @AGFalco have stated. i am very sorry guys to have wasted your time, i just didnt think 😞
  21. I have them in the wishbones of the monte hence why I'm happy to go again with them. The one ballache I had getting them was, they no longer ship to Ireland. So I had to use a relatives address 10 minutes the other side of the border to have them delivered to. Atleast they do free shipping within the UK.
  22. That's quite a clever idea, certainly makes sense as you have two cars that also share parts. Think it's PSB bushes I've got sitting about for the wishbones on the Fabia.
  23. It is yeah, Weathers clearing up soon so I may as well throw the Spyders back on the Mk1. The steelies are bald and don't hold air, massive pain in the arse pumping them up everytime I want to drive the car. Have a lot of parts coming for the mk2, some of those bushes. Had a brainwave to order a "full kit" for a mk1 fabia and split it between the mk1 and mk2. Full PSB kit, mk1 gets the wishbone bushes and the mk2 will get the Arb Bushes and Rear beam Bushes. Worked out as cheap to get the full PSB kit as powerflex wanted the same money for just the rear beam bush.
  24. Is that it on the spare wheels since the Monte has the vRS ones?
  25. Best not to fit your 15 year old Skoda spare tyres on the front axle of an articulated lorry, no problems is they are younger than that!
  26. So I spent a bit of time today planning journeys based on a new Zoe. given there are almost no 100plus chargers north of Manchester (Zap-Map) buying/renting something with a 150 feels like a folly. In the sense you can’t use it that often. Granted the network improves monthly. im good for the lakes, wales from sheffield. Either a half hour stop on the way or the way back, or both gets me there and back. Cornwalls a bit trickier but doable around Penzance ie pop out for shopping, pastie, beer and it’s good to go. it’s only when I get to fort William and beyond I begin to get a little twitchy. still tempted as Renault have a 0% on atm and previous man maths all savings wiped out on pcp/pch charges. much to mull over as a diversion from other news.
  27. If anyone was wondering, it is 15 years old. Just for info Being stored in the dark stops the rubber being affected by ultra violet light / sunlight / weather etc, but doesn't stop the potential corrosion "inside" the structure of the tyre. This is why tyres over 10 years old are now banned on HGV's and PSV's irrespective if they are new or used.
  28. Poor man's S4 Avant... Until I can get the money together for a B7 RS4 this will keep me entertained! Got lots planned with a BBT K300 turbo next on the shopping list.
  29. If it is intermittent i.e. the wiper works for a bit then randomly stops then it is likely the motor/brushes on the way out. Happened to mine. Got a replacement from EuroCP and it has been fine ever since.
  30. That's why as well as telling the service desk I did not want it done I left post it notes on the steering wheel, dash and windscreen saying not to apply the "Fix".
  31. Yeah I think it’s reasonable they would know the manufacturer deal a car was sold under. I just don’t think they know the actual deal a customer signs. If you buy through Carwow for example your dealer effectively loses out not Skoda.
  32. I don’t think it’s going to be as clear cut as people are making out. Skoda U.K. who profess the orders don’t know how much you’ve paid. I guess they might know how it’s financed so it’s possible lease gets a lower build priority. But I’d be amazed if they actually knew what the customer paid. Less so the factory. However of course Skoda will know there are trims and lines that are higher profit than others. So suspect it’s more that than individual circumstances.
  33. I honestly thought the BW would be put back instead of brought forward but it’s only provisional and I know anything could still happen. It may even go to AndD’s 319 days and beyond! ☹️ Also, not sure how balancing emissions will work out now that Enyaq production is affected with the awful Ukraine situation. Could it be the lower emission cars are brought forward?
  34. Im trading the Sportline for a VRS with ventilated leather seats, winter pack, sleep pack and towbar. Basically same monthly payments (not including extra fuel of course) 😬
  35. thats great news what spec sportline have you ordered?
  36. Hi Again, My mistake, I was confusing oil temp and water temp, yes, the water temp sits perfectly at 90. Alan.
  37. It's well worth doing the research on suspension design wrt spring and damper rates, there are some really useful engineering youtube channels worth checking out to explain the fundamentals. I know from years ago that one of the reasons why the Alfasud handled so well, and gripped the way it did was that it had a fairly long travel suspension, hence leaned a lot. That's not so bad, providing you don't get unwanted toe and camber changes, but for a road car, you want as much travel and soft spring rates that you can get away with for ride comfort, and to retain the highest rebound force on bumpy roads. This guy is worth following:
  38. And a few from Clumber Park.......
  39. ^ We used to have those Dunnes Stores here in England. I once had a job that involved taking the elderly out shopping and I used to take them there. They liked that it had a cafe inside.
  40. At the time of those photos I just had the Eibach springs on and the wheels were Ispiri FFP2 19x8.5 ET37, poking out a further 13.4mm compared to the stock ones. However the tracks are so narrow that even those wheels looked slightly hidden inside so I later added 10mm hubcentric Eibach spacers which brought it closer to a flush look (still 3-4mm from fully flush and definitely no rubbing whatsoever) which finally made it perfect for my like and discreetly more aggressive. Here's a photo of the wider alloys + 10mm spacers on, which together equalled to 23.4mm further poking out compared to stock: PS. Corrected the original poking out value from 18mm to 13.4mm. 41. There's an absolute tonne of updates that have been released since 14th February for multiple modules Hopefully solve most of the common faults people are having
  42. 1 point
I enquired about delivery times for a new vehicle and like Skoda, they're all quoting between 6-12 months. So if that's the case I might as well get my PCP extended a bit and stay with Skoda, at least I know (more or less) what mess I'm going to be getting myself into.
  43. I use them all the time. Always been very good.
  44. Seems unlikely with the news yesterday that production will be reduced this week 😕
  45. When the car is unlocked many of the electronic modules stay awake only going to sleep when the car is locked, so to minimise current drain the car should always be locked when left unused for a long(ish) time.
  46. Saddens me that this does appear to be the *majority of Fabia vRS owners on the old "social medias". I pray to god that there will be enough of these cars broken for spares in the coming years and it leaves the better ones to actually gain a following instead of an image problem. Knowing my luck that following will just about coincide with the social birching that will come from even daring to own a diesel vehicle.
