  1. @P33AKY Not if you are on a phone it is not. Often posters are not aware of that and that people might not see what their car is or where they are.
  2. As the cars still in warranty I wouldn’t wait or 'fiddle' at all - just return to the dealer and ask them to fix it.
  3. Follow your own advice then, get better lights and your eyes tested. You could always get 16" wheels 😏
  4. And never got a puncture? Or hit a pothole? You're a marvelous man indeed... I bow to your superiority 😏 and that superman vision.
  5. You could go for 16" alloys from the lower spec model. The amount of passive aggression on this site is shocking, it invades every thread irrespective of what the thread is about.
  6. It's been done on a few Golf's using OEM parts. I doubt it significantly increases fuel economy though...
  7. Do you have free access to a full-size moving floor wind tunnel?
  8. Since start is the start of the trip. However... It will only reset after two hours so if you're making multiple trips without a two hour gap, they'll count a one longer trip.
  9. Further feedback for anyone thinking about this mod. Post mod is exactly how it should come from factory. Suspension is much more controlled with added rebound and compression. No longer blowing through its stroke in normal mode then wallowing in its recovery. Comfort is still cloud like and sport++ is ramped up but not harsh. Totally recommended and thanks to Julian and Blair for the support making it a painless experience. 👌
  10. Some quite expensive cars but no Teslas ? As I mentioned above I think it is mainly the high priced EVs that are falling and no so much the cheaper EVs. Maybe people are realising that EVs can cost half of what ICE cars cost to run and they are factoring that in their calculations and planning for the longer term when getting dinosaur juice becomes every more difficult and as EV charging stations pop up in ever more locations and they have to compete and basically sell electricity at less than the home domestic rate to entice EV drivers out of their homes. If Electric Viking is to be believed then there is a tidal wave of much cheaper EVs come out of factories as many factors come to fruition ie - Telsa willing to cut margins and selling price, ever greater economies of scale and improved production method, the falling price of lithium and move to no rare metals and even other elements. Glut a cars in China meaning Tesla can focus more on export sales. Add to this electricity prices likely to fall in real terms big time as more wind and solar come on line in the next few months, Europe already hit one third production from Wind this month. The Model Y has now replace the VW Golf as the best selling car in Europe and one can hardly see this ever going back to ICE cars. Those holding out for hydrogen ICE cars are quite probably having rose tinted dreams as hydrogen is so volatile and difficult to store safely. Electricity could fall to just the cost of maintaining the production equipment and cost of transition with a small add on fee future improvements and profit for the wholesaler meaning it drops to just a few pence per Kwh as it is for us now who buy the cheap after midnight lecky, 7.5 p per kwh in my case. Massive changes a head a this EV technology has so much momentum now few probably realise how fundamental and soon the change will be inescapable. I see Octopus had a negative cost event a few days ago....... https://www.current-news.co.uk/octopus-energy-embraces-negative-pricing-with-plunge-tariff/ Greg Jackson, founder and chief executive of Octopus Energy, said: “This tariff is groundbreaking. By reflecting the real cost of energy on the grid every half hour, customers can capitalise on times when prices are especially low. “Indeed, if the wholesale price goes below 0p/kWh, Octopus Agile will actually pay you to take the unwanted energy from the grid. As renewable energy production grows these events are only going to become more frequent.”
  11. Thanks J.R. Misplased fuse was the culptrit: https://fuseandrelay.com/skoda/yeti.html#Engine_compartment Type 1 box F7 slot (40A Main ignition circuits) was empty and fuse plased in F6 slot. Shes a happy little Yeti again
  12. Update on this topic: I fitted new top mounts, bilstein B4's all round, and lesjofors springs from auto doc all round last night. On some bumps that I'd feel very harshly on the way to work and my work entrance, I could barely feel them at all. Really comfortable now and super happy, so if anyone's after a comfortable ride, that's my suggested setup. I can't compare how it feels to complete stock because I've not experienced a car on regular setup.
  13. Plenty done this weekend Drivers side splash guard has been changed. And 2 new Meyle Balljoints put on. Only the drivers needed replacing but they're cheap and easy to do so did both. Done in 40 minutes. The drivers side one was BAD and it was only on 6 months. Was mentioned by the nct tester when it was tested last month, and it had just started knocking then. Should not have passed like that imo. The passengers side was absolutely fine. And FINALLY, I've got my hands on a Garrett GTC1549VZ, a CR170 turbo. Looks to have been recently rebuilt, the core looks very fresh. Might still be worth dropping it off at someone who knows what they're looking at, just to be sure its been rebuilt right. Had been looking at a hybridised XMan version but the person selling that wouldn't post it, unfortunate. And I took it to Dubshed too, If youre up before 11 you can get into the show and shine outside. I was put out in the nosebleeds. Only found out they have a car wash on site once I was up there, I'll know for next year. Bit funny trying to explain to people that its not a vrs but a 1.6 diesel and that no, I didn't put that bodykit on it's standard. Was a great day anyway. May have found someone there who can map in this new turbo when it goes on. So on top of juggling the vrsdi, the justy and even just maintaining this, I'm going to try have that turbo on before June. And there's work to be done before that, Even though it was serviced in December it'll be due another service in about a month. Timing belts due so that'll be done then also. And I'll definitely be needing another 2 tyres before June. Much to do, no money to do it. What's new.
  14. I had a betsy when I notced a leak, then I remembered I had the aircon on to clear the windscreen, there was my "leak" off the aircon radiator.
  15. Fair point, and like you say if I can send it back if it’s not suitable then worth a try. I do miss the cds though, and my car is when I listen to most of my music and I know it’s old school but I’ve always done it and quite happy to do it, if I can.
  16. It's right under the avatar, where it says "New Here"
  17. + Another 1 for Goodyear's. Got my Dad Ultragrip 9s for one Citigo and the the Vector 4 Season Gen2s for the other. Both lasted well for about three/four years until both cars were sold in January still with decent tread. Both used 14".
  18. Welcome back! I haven't seen you around for quite some time! I hope this means you've been enjoying your car without any serious issues. I've tested an S23 Ultra for a slightly more than a month, before returning it back to the seller - couldn't get used to the form (sharp corners) and it had a few software glitches (which I'm sure are rectified by now via updates). The AA connection was stable, both wired and wireless; I don't remember having any problems. I downgraded to an S21 Ultra (form factor again - rounded corners => pocketability...) and the AA connection is quite stable. It happens from time to time that the phone disconnects and immediately reconnects, only via wired connection. I'm suspecting the usb cable: it's not the original one, because I wanted L-shaped connectors... It could also be a software issue, since I can have few hours long trips without any problem, and also have several consecutive disconnections on short 20 minutes trips. It's really random... Wireless connection is stable as far as I can tell - I had no problem so far.
  19. Today, I modified the VCDS settings to have Ambient light depending on DCC mode. I've set it as follows: Eco is green / Confort is light blue / Normal is white / Sport is red / Individual is dark blue. (Yes, I know, not very original colors for Eco and Sport modes 😁) Great! All explained in the VCDS thread! Many thanks to @langers2k and to @igrozan!
  20. That is the trick! I've set it to 6, which is a "Fahrprofil", that I don't have, and no more 'disco mode'. Hence, I have: Eco in green Comfort in light blue Normal in white Sport in Red and Individual in dark blue. If I had the correct software, I would set Normal mode in lastest selected manual mode! Thanks a lot to both of you @langers2k and @igrozan 🙏 !
  21. You only have to press the selector knob for a couple of seconds to reset the current trip display so hardly arduous. If you are looking at the display at the end of the trip to check your stats you could do it then?
  22. There's no adjustment, the spring is either fitted correctly or it isn't.
  23. Top right hand corner of the map screen, there is an icon, press it to select 2d/3d/north up. When in cities buildings also appear as 3d as well as the map view.
  24. That's a pretty nasty post seems to be your style lately. Have you ever done private hire or taxi work?
  25. Thanks for that. That gives me an idea on what to go for and will contact an audio place about an option for a changer.
  26. Dealer was not that interest in getting a sale , to be fair I said that I had other cars to test drive , did not give me a p/x figure for my citigo He said that all the deals were changing 1st April but did not know what changes are , think current offer is £500 off PCP which ain't amazing To be honest my citigo felt nice to drive on way home , just wish it was a big bigger at times My test drive on higher specs might have spoiled me , especially with the 110 engine
  27. Took out a 95 bhp comfort se model today , much preferred the 110 engine One thing I did notice was the comfort SE model ( same level as my current citigo SE) the seat cover quality seemed not as good quality on the Fabia than my 2019 citigo SE , guess its just cost cutting these days Cheers Steve
  28. The PS 4 is the forerunner of the PS 5 not the PS 4S which will be replaced by the PS s 5. The PS 4S is a much better performance tyre with excellent grip in all conditions but not the most dynamic feeling. Have a look at Tyre Reviews on Youtube
  29. If the oil pressure switch is working correctly it's possible that the pickup is partly fouled. Sadly, the only way to (dis)prove that requires dropping the oil sump.
  30. Try the radiator fan test first, very common fault on VW group cars of this age, and will lead to higher temps in the conditions you describe. Any old bit of wire will do for linking, the currents through these connections only power relay coils on A/C equipped cars, not the fans themselves. Note that ignition needs to be on to test full speed function.
  31. Thanks. Seems from an earlier post that the very latest production has removed the option to switch it on or off - so I'm going to have to talk to the dealer it seems.
  32. Well done. The plugs would have been the very major contributor and Redex was redundant when using the Tesco Momentum. I'm not sure any garages do a full car service any more, engine oil and filter change and visual inspection of some other stuff is about it. You could yourself change the engine air filter and if required clean anything else engine air or fuel related. That just the engine of course, which isn't the most important component or system on the car. The brakes, steering and suspension (all three include tyres) and safety electrics are of more priority, as you've already found the engine can chug along even in a quite poor state and the world doesn't fall apart (only your wallet with all those petrol receipts). I'd not think too much about where all that petrol went for now remain on a positive and see if the service brings any further improvement in MPG but don't expect too much unless your brakes were binding or you're running your tyres under-inflated. Given your plugs gaps I'd not be too surprised at anything the service turns up but also given your current MPG hopefully it won't be too much. Good luck.
  33. ^^^ Is that a DPF delete? Of a car used as a Taxi / Private hire car. Lovely for the 'annual or 6 monthly check depending on the Local Authority area, and the car owners insurance of that vehicle with this undeclared / illegal modification.
  34. Set your front assist to LATE in settings stops what your experiencing like sudden warning/braking. You might be scolding the thumb wheel and it’s changing display temp oil
  35. It’s anti hijack stops someone opening your door and nicking things off passenger seat or you’re boot you get more noise going over pot holes
  36. Hello everyone, after 1 year of loving this car I thought I would like to share with you my project. First of all I remember buying this car and telling myself I would keep it stock no matter what... 3 months later I couldn't keep my word and decided to do some modifications. So here is a little list of what it's done, hope I can inspire some other people to not keep it stock -TA technix airride system -Borbets T 7,5J front 9J back -Ramair air filter -Stainless steel exhaust cat back -custom phone holder -omp steering wheel -momo steering hub -Custom tail lights and here are some pictures of the car:
  37. Now I only miss a GTI/TSI conversion 😆 …
  38. How could you even think of telling Battery Man to forget about battery charging? You sound like a man whose battery charger is inappropriate and who needs to read his owners manual 🤣
  39. ..probably something you have done wrong as you can bet it won't be a design or manufactuting problem... ......
  40. It's not a document I have seen, but also this whole thread has descended into chaos, so not wanting to post too much on the subject. https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=derailing a thread I have said this before, I feel sorry for the OP @iirfansk25 here is a static link on the erWin site for approved oils, if they post this, I am happy enough to use what is on this list myself. https://erwin.volkswagen.de/erwin/downloadStaticFile/skoda/files/oil/oil_pdf.zip
  41. Not only a self-confessed engineering expert, with all the arrogance of a surgeon but without the additional extensive education and training and possibly looks, now an expert in metal health, and wholesale and resale of car batteries, is there no end to your talents (except diplomacy obviously). I'm not the one fitting the battery but I thank you for taking your valuable time to me give your opinion despite not fully reading what I'd put, I value your advice, to different levels at different times. If only your talent of giving ultra fast solutions, none wrong by your own admission either, could have be turned towards world hunger, poverty and cancer we'd be rid of them by now. It's not just you, but all of us, that are blessed by your presence. Next time I personally want to do anything I will think what would sepulchrave tell me to do and better still if possible run it by you beforehand.
  42. I have been a travelling salesman for 30 years.........have driven a few million kms.
  43. Its stage 1 remap, also DSG stage 1. Its so much faster but huge lack of traction. Spin wheels till 100km/h lol. Even bridgestone potenza's now. I really like the exhaust but would love to have the option with valve controlled making it louder. Will try to make a vid soon again.
  44. Like anything else it’s horses for courses. we have a Kodiaq and a MG ZS EV in our household. 99% of our journeys are done in the MG, it’s great for my wife’s 10 mile commute, and ferrying the kids about to where they need to go and general pootling about at weekends. if we are going away anywhere whether it’s down to England or up to the Highlands that’s where the Kodiaq steps in and does it’s job. the infrastructure is nowhere near there for the majority of people to use EVs as their sole or primary mode of transport but it will get better. as usual on the internet, it’s full of people who think the entire concept is trash because it wouldn’t fit their needs, but everyone has different needs for what they want or need their car to do. If you never leave the city and have a drive, an EV even at current infrastructure is perfect, even with rising electricity costs it’s still cheaper than ICE to run and easy to maintain.
  45. Saw my first '23 plate Skoda today on the M40: I like it, and the colour choice 😎 Gaz
  46. It used to be recommeded that you could sound your horn to give warning when approaching a blind bend or blind hump-backed bridge (daylight hours only). For this to be effective the horn needs to be loud enough for approaching drivers to be able to hear the horn over the noise of their engine and potentially loud music.
  47. The Driving Data section of the MySkoda app shows me the details of every individual journey I have made (distance, travelling time, average speed and fuel consumption).
  48. Good evening Funkstain, Reading your notes I really feel I am in exactly the same situation. However, I have decided to be possibly more persistent. Would you kindly let me know if you also experience other flaws: - Screen settings/Turn on screen saver - when ticked turns screen off indeed.... until I turn ignition off. When started again setting goes away - Instrument cluster settings/Eco tips ticked/not ticked - no changes to screens appearing on Maxidot display; simply this section is missing I have started conversation with the customer services but this seems to be fruitless as I have received links to the manual and sections in it, telling me how to use features not visible/not working. With this in mind I have requested contact from someone more knowledgeable than so called "advisor" reading answers from the screen only. If this doesn't work I am planning to offer the dealer to have the car back. Despite features being very minor I would expect every single penny I spent to be matched with the goods or service I paid for. Otherwise supplier is not fulfilling the agreement.
