  1. I suspect a vacuum leak or the throttle body needs cleaning and reset.
  2. It is a ECU firmware design problem. Compared to modern vehicles, the fuel cutoff on Felicia is not adaptable enough.
  3. How about posting a video of what is happening? Your information is not clear at all.
  4. The wiring needs to bend easily. The problem is no matter what you'll do the wires will end up breaking eventually. It is only a matter of time.
  5. The connectors are for extra accessories. Like headlight washers.
  6. @R_Blue Use a distributor and electronic ignition module from Felicia. All Felicia with carburetor have this setting.
  7. Let's start with the basics. What is the status of the battery? Think objectively.
  8. How old do you think the brake hoses are? Please answer after you bend them looking for cracks.
  9. Russians and some Colombian/Ecuador Felicia owners ditched the Pierburg 2E3/Jikov LEKR 28-34 in favor of some variants of Weber. They used a new flange/adaptor. A big drawback is they have manual choke, hence the need of a cable to regulate it from the cabin. The main reasons for changing the carburetor are: no spare parts and lack of knowledge for setting it properly. The only secret is that you need perfect vacuum. Any vacuum leak and the engine runs so bad that you want to set the car on fire and push it into a ravine. No advantages in terms of power / acceleration, etc. For tuning a carburetor you don't need a dyno, but a vacuum meter, a tachometer, a small screwdriver and lots of prior experience I've seen worse. But you are right. The flow of air is heavily disturbed. Replace it, otherwise you will either lock the brakes or lose braking completely. That was a 'temporary' fix that remained definitive. The yoke distance is vital. Each brake booster has its own setting.
  10. Anything I would had answered would had been attacked immediately. There are oil wars in forums.
  11. First of all I congratulate you for having the time, money (not that much, I know) and passion to repair the car. The satisfaction is huge indeed. Keep on going and eventually you'll have a reliable car. Even if it will not be perfect, the extra mechanical experience will help you in the future. Skoda Favorit/Felicia are best cars to learn on. Not too simple, not too complicated, just enough to know the basics of all cars. Now let's get to work: Yes. Have a friend press the brake and find the source of the hissing. Use a stethoscope for mechanics or something similar.
  12. This is the second most debated subject on the Internet, right after the JFK assassination
  13. Actually the Felicia 1.3 engines are quite reliable. Don't abuse them and use good oil & filter regularly and you'll get a 500,000 km life, maybe with one new set of rings.
  14. @mikefelicia Since you say oil level is good, no leaks (although you are changing a hose softened by oil?) then the most efficient diagnose is to mount an oil manometer in place of the oil pressure switch. Let us know the pressure at idle and at 2500 rpm. Edit: By the way, a few more questions: Did you use a different type of oil than usual at the last oil change? What type? What oil filter did you use? Was there any repair to the oil pump this year? Did you ever have a look at the oil strainer in the oil sump?
  15. This might be related to the other issue. Show us a photo of the oil leak and leave the hose alone. Don't buy it yet.
  16. Let's start with a oil level check first thing in the morning. Look under the car for any oil leaks too. Don't buy anything yet. Remember the rule: 1st find the cause -> buy parts.
  17. That is not necessarily a good thing. The ideal engine temperature is around 90 deg C. The temperature should raise fast to 90 then stay there.
  18. It would be easier to drop by to your house and tutor you
  19. I would have a look at the intake manifold to check its flatness too. Also The carburetor base warping. Also, to set things straight, there are 2 types of carburetor gaskets on the market. There is the old one, used on Skoda Favorit too. As you see, it is made in one piece of rubberized metal. Good luck finding a straight one. There is the new one that looks like a sandwich.
  20. Finding one in your country should be easy. If not, try at your Russian friends The hard part will be making the gasket really flat. I have often used REINZOSIL as the secret weapon to get a perfect vacuum seal.
  21. How about telling us what type of ENGINE your Felicia has? We have assumed your engine is fitted with a carburetor but you suddenly came with things like MAP, MAF, throttle body. Are you confident you know what are you talking about? You have already told us that your knowledge about cars is very poor, but at least fill your personal profile so it reflects what type of engine has your Felicia. It is all written in the registration document of the car. First should be the engine displacement (1.3, 1.6 or 1.9) The second should be a code (135, 135B, 136B, 135M, 136M, AEE or AEF)
  22. @mturgut Radiator cleaning products are not suitable for the entire cooling system, as you have asked.
