Glow plug replacement
If the glow plug doesn't unscrew at the max recommended torque, what are you supposed to do?

Is the latest map update for the Amundsen infotainment system really 2020/21??
I've just tried the website & it's working. I did this update without any problem a few weeks ago. Download the 2 files separately. Delete the old files from the sd card (make a back up copy first) then just drag the new files onto the card. https://mibsolution.one/#/1/15/MSTD

Mk III Scout - 2.0 TDI 150 - Engine running rough randomly
Th That's how it's set up. All normal. Turn the key to the start position and release. The glow plugs do their thing and when it's ready the starter kicks in. No further input from you is required.

Opening bonet with dead battery
This is the best advice, quick and easy. I'd have to do this if my car was in my garage with the passenger door almost touching the wall.

Amundsen 2 SD card
If you are using the sat nav now, it means you have an original Skoda card. Only Skoda cards will work. You can download the new map update from the Skoda website, delete the old files from the card (back them up 1st) and install the new files.

Consistent creaking or alike in Octavia VRS wagon.
- Brake pedal becomes slow to return
Look under the bonnet to see if there is a servo.- Servicing
Used the wrong term. No letter, just told about it when it went in for a service at a main dealer. Should have been a recall in my opinion to avoid more expensive claims for damaged gearboxes.- Servicing
Yes. I did have it done. That's what I meant by the recall.- Servicing
Mines on 65,000 miles. Only had the recall work done on it. Faultless.- Vehicle charging all over the place
I'm on my original battery and S/S is always used, so have to disagree with your statement about a shortened battery life. I go along with your other point re coding.- DSG Leaking help
You seem to be well looked after insurance wise. I'd have thought the insurance company would want it repaired as soon as possible to avoid more expense. At the moment it seems you're just looking at a new mechatronic unit which is already not cheap. For them to say it's ok to drive it with the risk of having to pay out considerably more, is to me unheard of. In the Uk they always do their best to pay out as little as possible.- Vehicle charging all over the place
You're putting a demand on the battery and the alternator is just doing its job. With no demand the altenator is basically idle. That's my reasoning.- DSG Leaking help
Hope you've got that in writing. - Brake pedal becomes slow to return
