  1. Do some searching on this site. There are so many threads. Some ppl advise to tell the car its got a new battery, others say it's not needed.
  2. The locking barrel is under a plastic cover on the drivers door handle. Just prise it off.
  3. Presumably the car battery is ok now as you've changed it. I'd uncheck the setting for all doors. See if that then only unlocks the drivers door. If that's the case, then set it to open all doors. That may clear the fault.
  4. I think you're lucky to get the glow plugs & heated windscreen changed. Looking at the wording in the link you posted, it says "It’s assumed in law that the fault was present at the time of purchase unless the seller can prove otherwise" Presumably the glow plugs & windscreen were working at the time of purchase.
  5. If you had read thru this link I sent you it mentions 2 part no's
  6. Also many links on Google about this problem
  7. De-activate it & see what happens
  8. It does play, but it's a different design
  9. Does the rear interior light work normally?
  10. If It's a diesel then it's a well known problem. Read The Mk3 Octavia TDI water pump thread at the top of the page
  11. Do you mean the temperature gauge?
  12. If you had searched the forum you would have found plenty of threads on this subject
