  1. There is a thread on this site about fitting a camera to a mk2 Fabia but not a wireless model as it seems if you want to use the head unit you have to use a Sat Nav unit and a wired connection to get it working correctly, if you cannot find it enter a google search rear camera mk2 Fabia have a look and see if you want to still go ahead
  2. Swings and roundabouts my friend 15 inch rims and tyres less road noise (with a softer tyre) but not so good road handling, 16 inch rims with low profile more road noise but better road handling, some models later than 2012 had 16 inch rims with 195-60-16 tyres fitted but i think if you fitted these you might have an issue with tyres rubbing on bumpy roads
  3. Two things to do, firstly the channels that the glass run in need some lubrication with a rubber friendly oil you need something like duck oil NOT WD40 as this will swell the rubber channels and make it worse. You then need to reset the window by ignition on open window but keep switch pressed down until you hear the window go click click click then close window and again keep switch up until you hear click click click, turn ignition off and the try the window as normal, if it's the same go through it again it sounds brutal but it's recommenedin the handbook to reset to 1 push full open / close
  4. Yes can confirm rear lens for same year model fits from hatch to estate, did a mod on my old mk2 and bought a left hooker rear lens then adapted it to have a set of 2 rear fog lights and 2 rear reversing lights, looked better than one light
  5. Seeing that you had a 2006 model is even better as you can do this with the window open on these so it's a lot easier than the newer ones best of luck hope module was not to expensive cheers
  6. Did the remote led light up ? if not try cleaning the contacts in the remote and the battery itself, if it still does not light up you will need to replace the module, I have been told they can be re -programmed if you have another remote to take the code from but not 100% sure of this, but you can get a new module but again expensive. I also know that some remotes when pressed to many times quickly loose the signal to the car and need a reset on models from around 2008 this could be done by getting in the car close all doors and windows boot and bonnet if you have a spare key use this to turn ignition on then off, have the other remote at hand and as you turn off the ignition with the spare key press the lock unlock buttons on the non working remote, this used to reset the remote, on newer models 2017 up you do this and you have to hold the remote to the right hand side of the steering wheel and press lock unlock but these cars let you know it's paired by a loud beep
  7. All correct but be careful as some Fabia's have 14 inch rims some 15 some 16 and 17 and newer 18 and 19 inch which look great ---------until you drive them. some bigger rims rub the inner wings without proper tyre sizes and can effect the gearing on the original car
  8. Had this sort of noise from our 1.9tdi and it turned out to be the clutch pulley on the air con unit worn and dried out, turn it off no noise turn air con on squealing noise, had the pulley replaced by a local reliable garage who did the job in a day and was £120 all in parts alone were £73, now runs quiet
  9. As others have posted but just to be safe please check the condition of the tyre yourself if there is no cracking lines around the outside of the tyre and no cracking in the deepest part of the tread indeed it's fine to use, also check the condition of the valve body for cracking
  10. First job see if any water leaks out on the floor front of the car if so you have a broken pipe , if ok no leaks what some times happens the jets get blocked from soap suds or car wax the only way i cleared mine was to use a £1 can of air used from poundland and inserted the red straw in the end of the jet wrapped a small bit of rag around it and kept pressing can every 1 or 2 seconds did this both sides and then kept trying washers after each blast and after few tries they started working again they need to be used on a regular basis, you could use a bike pump or an air line but not to much pressure as you will blow the pipes connections off or damage valves in pump
  11. The MK3 is exactly the same, car still under warranty but dealers keep fobbing me off saying can't find the rattle or it's the baby seat in the rear that's causing the issue, but after removing the seat and pointing out the rattle from the vent they wanted us to leave the car with them for a week but did not have another car for us to use so at the moment it's status quo at the moment and still waiting on them to sort it out. A good friend who used to work for Skoda says it can be a wrongly located lug on the vent face from suppliers but did say the whole unit has to be replaced as normally once removed you cannot get the vent face to clip back in properlyas the lugs are on the inner part of the unit and snap off , some people have used a quick set resin glue to bond this vent back in place but rattle still exists, he also mentioned that the internal direction fins come loose and these rattle also requiring a whole unit replacement so it seems the rattle is there to last unless you replace the unit
  12. Had the same issue with my 2008 model, parking sensors are around £90 each and they are glued in place and rear bumper needs to be removed to fit any sort of sensor in the same place as original ones, I had a mate check out with laptop which sensor had gone and it showed the rear drivers side which i replaced with a brand new one from Skoda, sometimes it can be the connection unit but that's a real pain to get to it's behind the rear drivers side boot panel and you need to strip half the rear side apart to get to it, ---but only to find that for some reason when the car was made some one did not know their left from right as it turned out that the rear passenger side that had gone not the drivers side as read out pointed to so landed up costing more money again, as you have to break sensor to remove from bumper, my friend had this issue and he bought a after market system from the Bay around around £75 for the set of 4 which were silver same as bumper but you had to wire up from reversing lights and he put the beeper in the boot area near back seat as the Fabia beeper is in the door pillar area front passenger side and just looked a pain to try and wire up to this
  13. Usual causes for bulbs blowing are rubbish cheap makes high wattage bulbs and the biggest cause of all people handling the glass before fitting or during fitting and not cleaning the glass on the bulb before fitting, I've also seen so many bulbs not fitted correctly in the holder and then badly fitted or no cover caps
  14. Don't think it's wrong our MK3 which was from a dealership is exactly the same we only use the rest on long trips as you say to difficult to apply handbrake, iI think if you have the electric handbrake system it's fine as you only press a button , we keep ours flipped up most of the time for every day use
  15. Be careful if you wiggle arm you can crack the screen, mine was solid but i found a £8 wiper puller on ebay and it came off easy using this puller a bit extreme but a new screen is a few hundred pounds for the sake of around £10 it's well worth buying one
  16. Don't know if this will help but had this on my Mk 2 TDI it was a bad connection in the vac block on the top of the drivers side wing near the bulkhead, water had got into the connection car would start but not run unplugged the connection gave it a good squirt with WD and pushed back in car then started and when the key was released car kept running, worth a try , only other problem might be the wiring from back of key harness to solenoid fuel cut off not holding open when key is released from start position so fuel cut off switch losses power and shuts down as if it was turned off, some times spraying WD on connecting blocks and spade connections after car has been standing a while can help
  17. Unless blue print parts or oem parts no they usually are rubbish and you will spend loads of time after trying to sort it out, I have used Skodaparts.com on this site the parts are oem approved and vary in price but are all ok for Skoda VW etc
  18. Second that be careful if you go to dealers and ask for a throttle body they will quote you for the whole lot around £800 instead you need the throttle body sensor still expensive around £90, but check connections first as the connectors are know to get corroded and broken
  19. Depends on your model that you own but on my MK3 and my old MK2 the warning beeps were the outside temp was lower than 4 degrees C outside temp
  20. Common issue with the TDI engines is a sticky turbo vanes as you have already had a diagnostic check the pressure switches would show a fault I spent a load of money on sensors and new turbo pipes on my TDI and in the end the only thing that cleared the fault and brought the car back to life was a good turbo clean out I managed to do mine by taking the exhaust pipe from the turbo and used Mr muscle oven cleaner on the vanes and kept moving the turbo actuator back and fourth until it moved the full amount and freely as before I started it only moved around 5mm but when finished moved around 20-25mm, the only thing you must do is complete the job in a day and get the car started to clear out the Mr muscle DO NOT LEAVE OVERNIGHT as some people suggest, there are a few videos on you tube showing this clean out but most show you some one spray the solution into the intake, I was not comfortable doing this so opted for a static clean out which worked fine for me put EML out and performance back to when car was new--- after a few smoky miles after cleaning
  21. On my old MK2 estate 2008 the rear arm part number was 6Q6955707C but was not supplied with the plastic cover cap or a new locating nut, main dealers charge around £15-£20 but i bought mine from EBay for £9 with free delivery the wiper blade for the estate is 410mm not 340mm which neatly every motor factor tries to give you for this model the 310mm blade is for the hatch back model, blade for estate around £10 if I remember the cap was £4-80 and a new nut £3-95 some sites sell the arm complete just need to shop around, these were changed after 2013 to different part numbers for arms and blades
  22. Try the front spring these crack right at the top of the spring in the wing mount or in the strut cup halfway down the strut right at the end of the spring coil, sometimes you can see the crack if you jack car up and let the strut hang down and use a strong white LED lamp, other times you need to remove spring to see the crack, this is the most common fault but creaking has also been know to come from the wishbone bushes or sometimes from the track control arm, but this usually is more of a clunk rather than a creak from the control arms, wishbones bushes can creak as they start to fail but norally you can see them starting to twist and crack but still worth a look Did have a funny one once the front strut inside the coil spring had a plastic type bellows and that had disstorted and was rubbing on the spring when the car went over speed bumps etc had to use a couple of zip ties to keep it straight and not let it buckle stopped the noise so my mate was happy
  23. As mentioned it could be the bearing at fault, i fitted a bearing and my ABS would not work, bearing was from a well known chain, borrowed a new sensor to try and this fault was still there, tried my sensor on my mates car that needed a replacement and hey presto worked ok so fault was with bearing, stripped it apart and could not see any damage but fitted a new bearing from SKF which did cost a lot more but sorted the ABS issue out, a costly mistake but won't make that one again, it seems that the ABS ring did not have the correct spacing for the sensor to pick up the gaps and threw up a fault on the system
  24. Yes this is correct, electric rear windows were not standard fitting on most models other than top of the range or ordered when buying the car from new, my MK3 has led lights panoramic roof glass and rear camera and 17 inch alloys which were fitted to the car as it was an ex demo model but not standard fitting for the model which was an SE L
  25. Yes can second that in S Wales the cheapest quote was £225 for replacement key spent a little more time looking and took 2 weeks but found it so well worth having a good rummage around
