  1. There are some decent videos on YouTube about the removal of the front bumper etc to change the radiator. It's not too bad to do once you get into it.
  2. The Audi gear knob is a nice touch. Needs the sporty metal pedals too I would say just to round off the interior.
  3. That shouldn't be a problem, you would need to get yourself the trims for the inside where the adjustment stalks poke through if they didn't come with the mirrors you got. The holes for them should already be in the doors. Then, tidy the cable for the electric mirrors out of the way inside the door. Someone who knows better can correct me, but I don't think the manual mirrors will be heated, that would be the worst disadvantage of downgrading. You can also then do away with the switch on the door, again getting a trim piece from a car without and tidying the cable inside the door.
  4. Yeah the snap ring is inside the joint and it's this the puller has to overcome. You'll see it when the joint comes off.
  5. I would try swapping the fuses for some of the spares and see if that fixes anything. You've got nothing to lose trying that. I would say it's highly unlikely (but not impossible) that the battery has lost that much life after just two/three years. Unless the cold snap has been particularly cold and you've been doing lots of very short runs with the car. Also you wouldn't necessarily get a warning on the dashboard for low battery performance, systems might flash up faults and others might just stop working if the battery gets down to a certain level. Hope you get it sorted anyway.
  6. Put the car in a high gear to get a bit of resistance against the drive shaft turning. It will still be able to turn but it will take more force to do so.
  7. I would be looking for a chaffed wiring loom/harness somewhere.
  8. I've seen this happen when parked next to certain other makes of car, most likely giving off a signal for their central locking that interferes with the signal for the Skoda. Does the problem happen no matter where you park the car? Another possibility might be something you have sitting close to the receiver in the car giving off interference. The other possibilities I can think of might be damaged wiring or a failing receiver. Without more information, I can't guarantee that this is the case for you. If, as you say, you've changed the battery in your key then it must be something on the car side causing the problem.
  9. That pipe having popped out will be causing some of, if not all of, a power loss as you are losing boost. You can try putting your pipe back in properly, making sure the clip is secure, and see how long it lasts. But I think, before the previous owner has put a screw in to hold it, the pipe popping out has been an issue before. The pipe in your pic looks right. There will be a way to check the part number is right on this forum.
  10. @CLARKVRS1492 How is the hesitation on light throttle now?
  11. Yeah your intercooler pipe has popped out there. Firstly undo the screw that you can see and pull the pipe right out and check the end. You might need to release the retaining clip too. If the end is ok and not broken by being forced out while screwed in then just put it back in ensuring it's seated properly. Then snap in the clip then put the screw back in. You might need to put another in the top if it pops out again. Hope that helps, let us know how you get on.
  12. I've seen a lot like this, it doesn't reduce the reflectiveness of it any. Anyway, they should just be held in with a clip at either end. If you can, get a plastic trim tool in and try prying it out or failing that you could try going in behind the wheel arch liner to the back of the bumper and the clips may be visible from there. This may require you to jack up the car or even take the wheel off to get enough access though. Putting the new reflector in should just be a case of placing back in the recess and pushing to hear a click. Hope this helps!
  13. The new gear lever cap makes such a difference. I replaced the one in mine and just enjoy glancing down at it when I'm driving. 😁
  14. Did you have to sell it because it spat it's dummy out Pete (sitting behind the wheel in the last pic with new centre caps)?😂
  15. I think this needs a new project thread!😂
  16. 205/45R16 tyres are quite uncommon and as such are relatively expensive compared to the 215/45R16s. The 215s are fitted to MkIII Fabias.
  17. That might well help a little with the pipe issue you described before too.
  18. The way that intercooler mounts will be a bad OCD trigger for many! I know I couldn't have that on my car.😂
  19. Symptoms of an inner CV joint on its way are usually a vibration or shudder as if a wheel is out of balance but you feel it through the seat rather than the steering wheel. This normally happens under load as described by @fr1nklyn. Symptoms of an outer joint failing are usually noises ranging from clicking to knocking while turning a corner. I have no experience or heard of an outer causing a wobble but that doesn't mean that it won't under certain circumstances. Hope this helps.
  20. Well I don't think its Number 4. All the others look to be the same and of the kind I've seen fitted to Fabias and Roomsters since the Mk I... It is possible the car wasn't fitted with it to begin with. Have a look underneath and check to see if any of the speed nut fittings the screws fix into are there. If there's even one then the panel has been ripped off/gotten rid of. If there is none there, you'll need the full fitting kit too. If the panel has been ripped off, you'd also need to check the condition of the bottoms of the wheel arch liners where the speed nuts clip on. Getting the panel will be pointless if there's nothing to fix it to! Hope this helps.
  21. I don't know, maybe with the very earliest ones? But I remember one of the first ones locally to come in for its first MoT at the station I was working at and the first thing I noticed was the darkness inside quickly followed by the dark head lining. And that was an early 04 plate.
  22. I think all the carpets in the Fabias were the same colour, just the head lining in the vRS was dark possibly making the carpet look darker.
  23. "Whatever wheels are on it, they sit very wide on the car, no spacers here. They have vw caps on them and the guy I got it off reckons they are vw wheels but I don't think they are. If anyone knows what they are I'd love to know." They look like the wheels off a MK4 Golf R32 I would say. Are they 18"?
  24. @DieselMonte It looks better than mine and I'm still thinking of saving it.
