Best tool for oil filter removal?
I did my oil filter removal from below as it is at the lower front end of the engine. The Bosch oil filter I fitted does not have a hexagonal end. Cup wrench might be tight to use. I used a large Boa for the filter removal. The strap is about 3/4 inch wide and it has an aluminium handle. See here:- https://www.amazon.co.uk/BOA-BOAALI-Aluminium-Strap-Wrench/dp/B00096JDK8/ref=sr_1_8?crid=1O3RZUF4C6DQ7&keywords=boa+constrictor+strap+wrench&qid=1649784720&sprefix=Boa+constricto%2Caps%2C69&sr=8-8 Over kill for just an oil filter, but I have used it on many other items. See here ( page 2 ) for more detail on the service I did:- Thanks, AG Falco

Best tool for oil filter removal?
When doing the service on my Citigo two weeks ago, I used a 'Boa Constrictor strap wrench' to remove the oil filter. This can be useful around the house for many other things as well. They come in many sizes, look here:- https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=boa+constrictor+strap+wrench&crid=2PLSCK4GVX2XT&sprefix=boa+constroictor%2Caps%2C59&ref=nb_sb_ss_sc_2_15 Thanks, AG Falco

2016 Citigo Green tech charging system
Get it turned off permanently then. Some people do this by disconnecting the black wire from the negative battery terminal. DYOR first. Thanks, AG Falco

Replace stereo and wire reverse camera
Silver spring clip needs pushing to the right ( in your photo ) in towards the switch, at the lower end nearest the bodywork. Then push switch out through the hole from the inside. You need four key in exactly the right place. Look at the diagram closely that Jgrindel posted above Thanks, AG Falco

2016 Citigo Green tech charging system
Yes. It measures the power going in and out of the battery. From this the car will charge / or not charge the battery. The alternator is NOT always charging the battery, it only works when the charging system wants it to. Have you charged the battery yet? Thanks, AG Falco

2016 Citigo Green tech charging system
No. Micro hybrid charging system if it is Stop / start. Thanks, AG Falco

2016 Citigo Green tech charging system
First reason for the stop/start to stop working is a low/poor battery. Try charging the battery with the correct charger, connected up the correct way. Then with the battery fully charged test the battery. If it is a 2016 battery then it might be on the way out, but charge it first. Can you turn it off? Thanks, AG Falco

Citigo added to the family garage.
Forth service and second MOT done today. Mileage is 36K. Booked in for an MOT at 9.15 this morning. Left the car with them just before 8.30. Was given a complement by the MOT tester, I like doing your car's they are always clean / looked after. Phone rang at 9.17 to say MOT is done, passed with no advisories. Did big 4th service after. Cabin filter is above the passengers foot well, two push in clips to open at the end that is closer to the seat. Filter was dirty. Air filter housing on top of engine is a pull off / push on fitting with one small rubber pipe to disconnect as well. Sump plug at back of sump with a 19 mm head and new crush washer fitted. Oil filter on the lower front of the block. Spin off type and used a Boa Constrictor strap wrench to loosen. While the oil is draining I changed the air filter. About 1 dozen Torx 20 screws to open air filter housing, old filter not dirty but still fitted new one. Don't yet refit housing. Spark plugs are under coil packs that are under the ( removed ) air filter housing. One electrical clip per coil pack to pop off and then one 10 mm bolt that holds the coil pack down, then pull up gently to remove. Use a small 10mm spark plug / 16 mm Hex socket with a long extension bar to remove spark plugs. These were worn but were a good colour, new spark plugs fitted then refitted coil packs and air filter housing. Filled engine with just above 3 Litres of oil and check level. Start engine, let settle then check / top up oil to max. Bosch filters and 3 NGK spark plug were under £40.00. I have three cars that can all use the same oil so I buy this in 20 Litres containers as it is cheaper. Reset service indicator using OBDeleven and updated the car's Skoda Digital Service record via ERWIN. Will swap the Winter tyres for the summers in about a months time. All good. Thanks, AG Falco

Fabia mk3 tyres
My Fabia III came with 185 60 15 H Nexen from new. Did 27 K miles. I then ran a pair of Continental Premium Contacts. Did 30K miles. I then got a Nexen to match up with the full size spare. Did 27k miles. I now have a pair of Dunlop Sport BluResponce with A Wet Grip, B Rolling Resistance and 67 Db Noise Rating. Done 5K Miles so far. The Dunlop's are the best for me especially in the wet. I will eventually run these all round. I don't run winters on this car. Car now at 62K miles. I run Vredestein Quatrac 5 on my Citigo as my winter tyres down south in Dorset. I run Continental Ecocontacts during the summer. Front two did 32K miles. These were fitted from new. Both good for me. Car now at 36K miles. Thanks AG Falco

Brake fluid change amount
It wants just over 1Lt but a 1Lt bottle will do the job. Thanks, AG Falco

Tyre Pressures
In my experience, for some people, they still don't check the pressures even when the warning light comes on. Some people wont even know what the warning light means. They come in and have to ask. Thanks, AG Falco

Skoda Fabia break pads
Do you need brake disks and pads on a 2020 Fabia? My 2016 62k miles Fabia are half worn. Thanks, AG Falco

Metallic knocking noise
ARB drop link would be the first thing I would check. Thanks, AG Falco

Accurate Tyre Pressure.
That is for Run flat tyres. Although you rearly see this. Air is 78% Nitrogen already. Don't waste your money paying to have just Nitrogen filled in your tyres. Thanks, AG Falco
-
Accurate Tyre Pressure.
That the tyre/tire is filled just with Nitrogen, not normal air from a tyre inflator. Thanks, AG Falco

Accurate Tyre Pressure.
This is just what I have found. Just like light bulbs, they tend to blow when you first turn them on. I hope that Viair knows what a green dust cap indicates in the first video for the 70 P. N Thanks, AG Falco

Accurate Tyre Pressure.
The all metal type tyre inflator seem better / stronger. See this:- A useful tip is pumps can tend to blow a fuse when you first start them. So I will start the pump then attach my extension clip to the valve. I will also just over inflate the tyre then use a tyre pressure gauge to drop the pressure down to the wanted level. Thanks, AG Falco

Accurate Tyre Pressure.
If you have the screw on type of fitting you can add on one of these to the end:- https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B098QR7958/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Thanks, AG Falco

Fabia mk3 steering wheel knock sound
Does it do it at every angle or just when the steering wheel is upright? Does it do it with the engine off? Can you feel anything when turning the wheel if you touch the steering column down by the pedals? It is in between the brake and clutch pedal on a manual gearbox. I would think it is to the left of the brake pedal on your DSG. There is a universal joint there that might have some free play in it. Thanks, AG Falco

Low oil at 5000 miles
It has in both my Skoda owners manual the following:- ''The oil level must be checked at regular intervals.'' What variations have you noted in MPG in the last 5000 miles. With mine it went up in the first 5000 miles but then started going down due to winter. Mine will vary by 20% during a full year. Thanks, AG Falco

Low oil at 5000 miles
My Skoda needed an oil top up before the first service at 9400 miles. It is now over 60,000 and has not needed any oil since then. Thanks, AG Falco

How bad are Pirelli P7's ?
And low tyre pressure. Pirelli presently make almost 3500 different types of passenger car tyres. They have many which are made and marked for a particular car manufacture. This doesn't stop them being fitted to different car makes. The tyre supplier should be asking the questions. A lot of garages will order on line though so the question is not asked. Thanks, AG Falco

Battery not charging warnings
See link below, part four. https://batteryworld.varta-automotive.com/en-gb/standard-flooded-battery-start-stop Had one come in at work where eventually, the non stop start battery that the customer had fitted, could not take the higher voltages from the car, that it cracked open and caught fire. Thanks, AG Falco
