  1. So try to dry the rear brakes before stopping and driving forwards first will help. Thanks, AG Falco
  2. Guess. High Street. Station Road. Church Lane. The road that goes from 'A' town to 'B' town is often called 'B' Road/Lane. Eg the road that goes to Shaftesbury from Gillingham is called Shaftesbury Road. Oxford Street in London is the A40 road that goes to Oxford. With Android Auto I can say:- 'Navigate to Tesco Shaftesbury' Job done. Who's Laura? 😉 Thanks, AG Falco
  3. Do you park on a drive? 60.1 MPG for first tank. 😀 Thanks, AG Falco
  4. Correct.. 🙂 Thanks, AG Falco
  5. And the new Gas is twice the price of the old gas. Had one car in that at 2 years old was empty of R1234YF. The AC machine automatically checks the system for leaks and found none. If it does find a leak it will NOT refill the system with gas. Thanks, AG Falco
  6. I did the AC on the Fabia 2016 last Saturday, removed 375 grams and refilled with 450 grams. So a loss of about 18% with the older R134A gas but after 5.5 years. Did the AC on the Citigo 2018 last Monday. AC system regassed, this is the newer type R1234YF gas. 272 grams removed and refilled with 330 grams. This is a loss of about 18% from new in 3.5 years. Thanks, AG Falco
  7. No. look here:- https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax-rate-tables/rates-for-cars-registered-on-or-after-1-march-2001 So a Pre 1st April 2017 Citigo could be between £0.00 and £30.00 per year. But from 1st April 2017 then look here:- https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax-rate-tables But for me the Insurance is over £100.00 per annum cheaper. So you win some and you loose some. My Fabia III TSI does better than that, 55.6 MPG last tank, now up to 59K miles. Do you park on a drive nose first? Didn't get the screwdriver in the Fabia either. But I did get one with the Fiat Panda. 😀 Thanks, AG Falco
  8. My cars / per annum. £20.00 Fabia III 2016 £30.00 Fiat Panda 2009 £30.00 Peugeot 307 2003. This was £85.00 for the first year. £155.00 Citigo 2018 The rates went up to £155.00 per annum in April 2017. https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax-rate-tables Thanks, AG Falco
  9. Anybody know if you get the double ended screwdriver in the spare wheel tool kit? The kit looks unused but no screwdriver. Thanks, AG Falco
  10. Yes, this one is also going to be used by our daughter. Thanks, AG Falco
  11. I bought my first Skoda back in June 2016, a Fabia III 1.2 TSI SE, which I still have and is going well. I have now added a 2018 Citigo SE to the family garage. Have been looking for one for a while and eventually found one that ticked the boxes. Several I had looked at before had a dubious history especially on the service front. Be careful out there when buying cars folks. 1 previous owner, full Skoda service history from the supplying dealer, clean MOT, good mechanical condition and in a nice colour. Picked it up last Sunday and drove the 120 miles home, better than expected on the motorways. Fitted 5 new All Season tyres on Monday, one to an ebay bought spare alloy wheel that is the same at the ones on the car. This fits straight in the boot with the tool kit fitting inside it just like the normal steel spare did. This was the first time that any of the wheels had been removed from the car including the spare. Replaced the locking wheel bolts with new normal wheel bolts and new wheel bolt caps to suit. The car came with one new full size summer tyre on the steel spare, two half worn rear tyres and fronts on 2mm and 3mm. So the 3mm has been fitted to the steel spare ( spare ) and I only need one new tyre in the spring for my summer set. The 2mm was thrown. Carpet mats fitted and upgraded the dipped beam bulbs for some Osram Night Breaker H7's. Did the same to my Fabia III. This car also needed the headlamp aim adjusted up just like the Fabia did. AC system regassed, this is the newer type R1234YF gas. 272 grams removed and refilled with 330 grams. This is a loss of about 18% from new in 3.5 years. I did the AC on the Fabia last Saturday, removed 375 grams and refilled with 450 grams. So a loss of about 18% with the older R134A gas but after 5.5 years. Today I stripped the brakes front and rear, cleaned, regreased them and refitted them. About 6 mm left on the front pads and the rear shoes hardly worn. Front mud flaps fitted with the rear mud flap to be fitted with plastic rear wheel arch liners next week. Exhaust pipe from cat was spray painted to protect it from rust with VHT ( Very High Temperature ) paint. Cheapest car in the family to insure but the most expensive to tax. Next MOT and service not due until the spring when I will swap back to the summer tyres. I have driven it all week and have done 350 miles already. Half joked that this will be my daily driver from now on, instead of the Fabia. Impressed. 😁 Thanks, AG Falco
  12. In the UK the size of tyres approved for the vehicle are behind the fuel filler cap on the tyre pressures chart. 185 60 15 on a 6J X 15 wheel is approved. This will improve your ride comfort. Thanks, AG Falco
  13. Ok, done me usual pre winter check. Fitted new front tyres at 58k miles, they were fitted at 27k miles, with rear tyres down to 5 mm. Tyres rotated. Front brake pads at 8 mm and rear pads at 7mm, with all brakes stripped, cleaned and regreased. All disk faces are clean, flat and have no rust spots/patches high points. All are original brake parts. A small rusty lip has started. Photos are before the strip down. First photo is front and second is rear. So I should wear them out in about another 5 1/2 years 58kmiles time. Thanks, AF Falco
  14. Something like this:- https://www.amazon.co.uk/Headlight-Retainer-Lampholder-Mounting-Compatible/dp/B09B215YDX/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=H7+BULB+CLIP+SKODA&qid=1636758268&qsid=259-9359345-9613848&sr=8-4&sres=B092MKL4C6%2CB09B215YDX%2CB07GBW3J2J%2CB07QDM5KNX%2CB08CBW2GQR%2CB07K9ZC8LW%2CB073P1PRJH%2CB07RFL4KPT%2CB07J1ZN581%2CB08DCVN8X4%2CB08CZ17K5H%2CB07PQB6X69%2CB085XFL7LC%2CB008BT1GOQ%2CB09BJNBQFF%2CB08CBXG9FQ&srpt=VEHICLE_LIGHT_BULB Thanks, AG Falco
  15. These have the H4 twin filament bulbs. Pre facelift version and posable S trim on FL version? Thanks, AG Falco
  16. Bought a FL version so problem solved. Thanks, AG Falco
  17. Because they are very weak and you are more likely to break it. This should also be undone first. Thanks, AG Falco
  18. Most punctures happen on the near side ( rear ) so fit a directional spare tyre for the near side. Vredestein Quatrac 5 are asymetrical so no problem with these as your spare. 110NM Thanks, AG Falco
  19. Very true. Thanks, AG Falco
  20. 027 ( 057 is a Japanese fitment ) A 3 year guarantee battery is often the same battery as the 4 or 5 year guarantee batteries. They just charge more and rely on very few coming back. The battery supplier we use label up the batteries that are supplied by the manufacture themselves. Thanks, AG Falco
  21. If your Fabia is on Fixed servicing intervals you don't need a reader to reset the service interval. Thanks, AG Falco
  22. The tyre ratings have recently changed. When ratings first came out NO tyres had a D rating, only 'A B C' above average, or 'E F G' below average. Tyre manufactures do also re test tyres and can get new ratings. of Apollo Tyres. I run Vredestein Quatrac5's as a winter tyre down south here. Very good. Just put them back on last Saturday, for the 6th winter. Thanks, AG Falco
  23. Michelin own Blackcircles. 175 65 R14 more popular size so go for that size. Don't forget the spare wheel / tyre. Thanks, AG Falco
  24. Same on my Fabia. If this could be retro fitted, then yes I agree. Thanks, AG Falco
  25. Only got unlit country road around here. On another car I have with H4 headlamps, they help to light the close foreground when you have main beam on. It is fine on dipped beam but change to main beam and there is no light shining to the sides close up. My Fabia has the 4 x H7 headlamp set up and this works well as the dipped doesn't go off when you put main beam on. Is the Citigo headlights OK on this then? Thanks, AG Falco
