Sat nav sd card
I've had a look online and it appears that MIB3 systems load map updates OTA - or they can be updated using a memory stick plugged into the USB-C port.

DSG gearbox repair price
Hello, welcome to the forum. According to MSN AI help, it appears that error code 29AC refers to either a mechatronic issue (shift solenoids) or shift selector position problem. Have you attempted a DSG reset?

Sat nav sd card
The rotary dial is almost certainly for the glove compartment cooling from the A/C. If you can post the infotainment system information, someone with knowledge of it should be able to help you.

Sat nav sd card
Have you checked for SD slots inside the glove compartment?

Sat nav sd card
I'm not sure what system that is. According to the facia panel there should be navigation - is there a SD card in the correct slot?

Is my garage lying to me ?
My thanks go to @silver1011 for his advice back in 2016 while I was trying to understand the stop/start system. S.S. inhibit conditions. - High power consumption - this one can cover a few different things - from actual high consumption to low SOC or failing battery. - Battery temperature too high or low. - Engine coolant temperature lower than 22 deg.C. - Too great a difference between cabin temperature and outside. - Engine speed more than 1200 rpm. - Vehicle speed less than 3 KPH since last commanded engine stop. - Front wheel angle turned more than approx. 3/4 turn of steering wheel. - Insufficient hydraulic pressure in braking system. - Stationary vehicle on excessive gradient. - Drivers seat belt unfastened, drivers door open, engine hood open. Plus the usual, clutch, gearbox position for manual box, or equivalent conditions for DSG.

Is my garage lying to me ?
I'm not sure if I can recall most of them, but - - When cabin temperature is not up/down to set point (either heating or A/C) I don't recall what the actual message displays for this one. - Windscreen may fog. Are two of them. I will need to go through past posts to find the rest.

Is my garage lying to me ?
For stop start to be enabled, there are a number of conditions that have to be satisfied first - battery SOC is only one of about 8 parameters that will inhibit idle stop start.

Superb Greenline II Accident Damge - Advice Please
Unless you have already ceded ownership to the insurer, it may pay you to have an independent inspection of the damage and retain the salvage - it is possible that it is only the trunk, rear crash bar and bumper that require replacement or repair.

Valve stem seals gone after head gasket repair
@Catherine41 - in your second post you mentioned bent 'pistons' that had to be replaced due to damage - did you actually mean engine valves?
-
Valve stem seals gone after head gasket repair
If engine valves were damaged by the failure of the camchain, the valves and associated gear would have had to be stripped and repaired or replaced - to do that, the valve springs and stem seals would have had to be removed from the cylinder head. Did you receive an itemised invoice listing all parts used for the original repair - are you able to post it on here?

Valve stem seals gone after head gasket repair
Another thought occurs to me - if the original garage replaced valves bent/damaged by the timing chain failure - why were the valve stem seals not replaced at the time? they aren't expensive, and to reuse stem seals (if that's what they did) on an engine with that mileage, just beggars belief.

Tpms on board infotainment has no “Ser” option to reset dash warning light
Much better, I think, to just get a reliable dial type analogue gauge.

Valve stem seals gone after head gasket repair
Hello Catherine, I'm unable to estimate the cost of checking the valve timing - but I don't think it will take very long to establish - certainly less than an hour. If you do go down this route, ensure the mechanic is aware of previous work done - and that you will require a written report on the results of the check.

Valve stem seals gone after head gasket repair
Good afternoon @Catherine41 - from your description of the issue and the subsequent, reaction from the garage that carried out the work, putting aside the oil burning issue for the moment - I'm wondering if they made an error in the valve timing when replacing the chain. If you do take it to another (qualified/rated) mechanic, I suggest the timing be checked first - at least that way, if the timing is incorrect, you have the original garage on the hook for the repairs because of their mistake.

Tpms on board infotainment has no “Ser” option to reset dash warning light
@Nexus21 when you open the menu by pressing the gear symbol at the bottom right of the screen, what options are listed - is an option for 'tyres' displayed?

Basic rearview mirror replaced with auto dimming one
I have to say that my auto-dim RV mirror is great, I am never actually aware how well it operates unless I switch it off.

Locking issues and windows rolling on its own.
Good morning @Aumeisters - I recommend a trawl through sections mentioning broken wiring in the flexible connections to the doors - probably drivers side as it gets more use.

Tpms on board infotainment has no “Ser” option to reset dash warning light
Xman might have a point - although I seem to recall that OP said in one posting that the TPMS reset had been seen at some point. On both my Amundsen MIB2 and SWMBOs Bolero MIB2.5 (I think) - Ignition on; Press 'Car' button; Press the 'gear cog' symbol at bottom right of screen; A menu is displayed - Press 'tyres' (2nd option down) Tyre Pressure Loss Indicator is displayed; Press 'Set' and follow the options displayed.

Your infotainment system looks like a Bolero MIB2 - do you know if that's right? I'm pretty sure that the TPMS reset isn't on the status screen. I will check my Amundsen MIB2 shortly and get back to you.
