  1. Possibly because earlier EA888 engines had issues with stretching timing chains and failing chain tensioners - at 2017, OP should have a EA888/3 engine and AFAIK, these particular issues were sorted by then.
  2. How about using a suitable sized 'Bosbag' type of flexible garden bag to keep the cable in when not in use?
  3. For intermittent stop/start operation it is possible that the replacement battery wasn't adapted into the vehicles BCM correctly - or the battery is faulty. Have you checked charging voltage at the battery terminals?
  4. From your post, was the vehicle somewhere near Lawrenny at the time?
  5. It's a really poor idea to rely on 'idiot lights' when it comes to maintaining vital fluid levels in a machine that can destroy itself very rapidly if they are not there.
  6. Try adding more oil to bring the level fully to the top of the indicator line on the stick - it's possible that there's a hysteresis in the switch between warning off/on.
  7. Intermittent stop/start is usually an indication of battery low state of charge - either from low use, or failing battery.
  8. There did appear to be a lot of some sort of liquid on the surface - especially towards centre of road. Was there a strong smell of diesel in the area?
  9. From the Lat/Long displayed on your post, it would appear that your receiver is receiving some basic positioning data - but not sufficient to get a proper fix, this would tend to reinforce the likelihood of an antenna fault to me.
  10. Cellphone signal strength is immaterial for GPS - it needs a clear view of the sky. I'd suggest you first need to get the GPS antenna checked.
  11. Hello, welcome to the forum. How much oil is being used/lost?
  12. The 'Shark Fin' on the roof is the GPS antenna.
  13. On the estate, those are the radio antennas.
  14. Use the meters 10 Amp scale when doing this - usually requires plugging positive test lead into dedicated meter port.
  15. To view satellites being received if your system is Amundsen MIB2. Boot up Navigation, Activate bottom task bar with gesture, Touch 'View', Menu box will display options (Auto; Day; Night; Split-screen; POIs) Select Split-screen (tick box), this will display a box on screen showing Lat/Long; Altitude and a satellite dish symbol, GPS - (X/X) being number of satellites currently in view. If this display shows between 0/0 and 2/2 you are not receiving signals from sufficient satellites to fix your position. The GPS antenna on the estate (combi) is the 'shark fin' at the rear on the roof and there is some history of the PCB in the antenna base being damaged by water ingress.
  16. I am almost certain that a faulty SD card will not cause the issue you report - but an antenna fault definitely will. If you can confirm that your system is Amundsen MIB2, I will check mine and report back on how to view the satellite information.
  17. Perhaps the negative chassis connection tag was not giving a clean connection to the jump lead?
  18. On one of the GPS screens (in settings/split-screen, I think), there is a function that displays the number of satellites currently in view - if an antenna fault is causing your issue, this will show how many are being received.
  19. Hello, welcome to the forum. You shouldn't need to reset your location - the GPS receiver does all the locating automatically when it boots up and 'sees' sufficient satellites for a fix. Most likely you have a problem with your GPS antenna. What is your vehicle and what infotainment system - Amundsen MIB2?
  20. That appears to be identical procedure to Mk3.
  21. Hello, welcome to the forum. Take it back to the servicing garage and politely request that they complete the job.
  22. To a point, I agree - but using cruise in suitable conditions can help reduce fatigue on a drive by not needing to maintain a fixed throttle position for long periods. No substitute for regular rest stops, but it is useful.
  23. ...And don't forget that the constellation is orbiting, so there is a constant rising and setting of individual satellites.
  24. If you can and you don't have a frowning salesman sitting alongside, try doing a timed run 0-60 somewhere safe.
  25. Possibly - but will still cause issues.
