  1. Good link there Pete, especially the PDF download showing them all. Think it should be at the top as a sticky in each forum.
  2. I'm not sure I follow the relevance to being a factory worker and using the build codes.................unless im missing something. ? I was referring to "jo public" as in ................mr average Fabia owner. When you look at the build sticker in the boot of your Fabia showing the list of codes, to "most" people, it's jibberish, means nothing. Be nice if there was a published list of them people could refer / compare their vehicles to.
  3. aware monte is a "trim" level, although it was a special edition, and I would think "most" that were sold were 1.6 TDi's ,hence assuming on my part (correctly or incorrectly) it would have 288mm front discs. If im honest did not know they offered 2 power outputs for the TDi either until I just looked at the brochure, everyday a school day as they say. Stating to use the cars build codes does not help "jo public" much as they mean nothing to most people, and it's not easy to see what they do mean either. To be honest, measuring the discs is just as easy. 😀
  4. Amundsen can be bought WITH or WITHOUT bluetooth, you simply have to check the radio label to see the MAC address, if its ALL 0's there is no bluetooth, if its populated, then bluetooth is built in. so..........Ignore Amundsen , Amundsen + (some have no writing like mine), even the factory part number, you NEED to see the label as in the attached picture showing the MAC address is populated (bluetooth built in) if its 00:000:000 (no bluetooth) Additonally, your car is very early, not sure regarding the CAN side of things and how this unit will communicate with the car.
  5. if its a Monte (as per topic title), does it not already have 288mm brakes ?
  6. no they all have those stickers on the wings, it was when skoda one the rally championship in 2010,11 and 12
  7. the plugs under the seats cause these sporadic errors on MANY makes of cars, VAG are no different. Jiggling it has most likely fixed it !! hence the light has gone out.
  8. any decent tyre place can remove the tyres, clean the bead and refit / seal, lot cheaper than new wheels Monte carlo and vRS alloys are ET 41
  9. other possible solution is fit a later BCM if you have access to VCDS or similar to code it to your car.
  10. fuse details in the manual..........(attached) But I would suggest you check your installation before you keep throwing in new fuses...........dunno why people like auto lights, bloody annoying in my company car !! A05_Fabia_OwnersManual.pdf
  11. the knocking felt through the brake pedal AND potentially through gear change points to the rear lower engine "dog bone" mouting worn in my opinion, this dampens the engine "rock" which is at max when starting, so as it's worn (so I suspect) it knocks as the engine fires, again as you dip the clutch the engine "relaxes" and then as power is re-engaged it twists and knocks again. You feel it via the brake pedal as its bolted to the body / subframe under your feet. def worth a look "imo", Also because this mounting is potentially worn / knackered and as it's a rubber bonded mounting, it "may" also be the culprit for allowing sound to transmit through to the body from the running engine. Below is what it looks like, located underneath at the rear of the engine.
  12. it should def clip into place with firm pressure.

  14. The link to the antenna above will work fine, thats what skoda supply with the RNS315 aftermarket kit, and as mentioned put it inside the dash and all is good for GPS. The standard radio antennas already in the car should work fine. Is it DAB ? if so you will need an additonal antenna for that, OR fit a factory AM, FM GPS, DAB, GSM shark fin on the roof in place of the existing antenna and run the cables to the headunit. Regarding the sound system, the factory speakers are pretty good, they just need a good unit to drive them, the RNS 315 has brilliant sound "imo"
  15. it would have had a swing radio, not bolero. First thing, have "you" fitted a GPS antenna ? if so where ? The car will need coding with VCDS or similar to tell it a Navigation is installed so all the parking display etc works, However I am unsure "if" and aftermarket system will display on the unit........ It all does work on the RNS 510 as I had one in mine. I don't "think" the coding will affect the radio working, but as I had already originally had an RNS315 installled, the coding was set when I fitted the RNS 510, so it may well do. I will be honest I could never get the RNS 510 to sound good, it lacked depth and bass completely and I spent hours with all the coding options to no avail, put an RNS 315 back in eventually and the sound difference is astonishing (even the wife noticed / commented) so you will have to see if you like it when it's working.
  16. there are good and bad in all cars, if we all read the bad things about cars, we would never buy anything !! I'm not sure why you say "lucky" it's a CAVE engine, they are the early engines which did suffer with oil consumption and bore wear problems, the later CTHE is ideally the one to have, but some of those have had issues as well. You siggsy says its a 2011 car, so should be a CAVE engine as you say, but it "may" have had warranty work, or even a new engine at some point, ideally contact a dealer and see what, and if it has any history of that type of work, there are many CAVE engined cars which have never had issues, its a bit of a lottery. longevity in any car = engine oil, good quality engine oil changed at regular intervals.........its your cars blood and it needs to be good. With the twin charger, also renew spark plugs at intervals LESS than Skoda say to keep reliablity. Don't forget, the internet is full of people moaning when things go wrong, you don't find all the good things posted as well. For me, I think the vRS is a super little car, BUT it can have its issues as with any, personally I think 180PS from a 1.4 is a lot and I think those that tune them for more power do run the risk of shortening the life, others will argue for it, but thats what makes the world go round. If im honest, regardless of how much I would want a mk2 vRS I would NEVER buy a modded / tuned car, would always look for a factory standard late car with history but I understand all budgets are different, especially at the moment. In standard form, the car is a fun drive, and limitless power on tap, can it be improved, yes offcourse, but at what cost.

  18. it just pulls back, but they can be a "good / tight" fit. You can use a "BLUNT" tool to assist (wooden scraper or similar..........NOT a screwdriver) to get it started, but nothing sharp as it can damage the rubber.
  19. One here on Ebay, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/202047381550 But if you want to be sure of quality.....then compare price / order from your local Skoda, VW or Audi dealer P/N 6Q0959263A
  20. Yep, definitely need to pull the rubber boot back and check the wires between the drivers door and A pillar.
  21. lol I take a guess at door loom related problems !!!
