  1. The DRIVERS side on a RHD car has NO cover, you can see the wiper motor / linkage Above is Drivers side (RHD), apologies photo was taken in pitch dark at 23:00 hrs......motor clearly visible On the PASSENGER side of a UK car, thats where your intake valve is for your heater, so that has an additional cover under the grille to stop water directly going into the heater assy. Image below showing cover which you see through the grille.......this is on the LH side of a RHD car, this cover would be on RH side of a LHD car.
  2. exactly how they work, this is how the projector headlamps work. What headlamps did they fit ? was not aware of this type of headlamp was fitted back in 2008 ?
  3. too say im confused by your post is a bit of an understatement 😕 So, does it not work ANYTIME, (irrespective of front wipers) or does it not work ONLY when front wipers are on (does it work without front wipers) or does it not work ONLY when it's raining (irrespective of front wipers) Does rear wash wipe work anytime WITHOUT front wipers ?
  4. Fabia Mk2 steering wheel has no right hand buttons anyway, only on the left.
  5. this sticks **** to a blanket............proper trim adhesive tape which is easy to apply and form around the curved shape of the badge. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171495604201?
  6. Facelift fabia has steering wheel controls
  7. Mines a facelift, steering wheel controls work 100% with RNS 315
  8. If "they" meaning what ??
  9. Yes I doubt there is anything wrong with your unit, they just sound crap in the Fabia, I tried ALL settings in the unit and with VCDS, still no depth. As I say I bought another 315 with DAB (that was my upgrade wish with the columbus as my first 315 was not DAB)
  10. I agree and disagree, I to bought a columbus to "upgrade" the Amundsen, but that was a big mistake as no matter what settings I used it had no depth or bass (hence you needed a sub) so to satisfy my curiosity I bought another Amundsen, plugged it back in and boom (literally) sound is superior to the Columbus in the Fabia, so stuck with the RNS 315, even the Mrs could tell the difference was amazing.
  11. go to a dealer or there are Ebay services you can use. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p4432023.m570.l1313&_nkw=skoda+radio+code&_sacat=0
  12. mmm not so sure, depends on what unit, the RNS 315 in my Fabia is brilliant, knocks the socks of my 23 plate £40k comp car.
  13. REF cruise cable, its easy enough to remove the windscreen wiper scuttle panel, then the wiper motor etc for access.........then..... Run the cable through the bonnet release cable grommet, along under the scuttle panel, cable tie neatly to the main loom already in there and then into the car through the main loom connection panel at the drivers side, you have to drill a new hole obviosuly, check on the inside for anything behind, it should be clear, you can easily feel the location up behind the pedals. Images from mine when I did a few years back
  14. FIRST things to check are, check the battery clamps are tight and that the voltage is good and charging voltage is as expected, a "failing" battery and / or alternator can also display similar symptoms of random electrical failures........ Under the dash where your knees are is the body control module (black box approx 8x8 inches) these "can" suffer water ingress, not sure how it gets in though...... so, check the connections on that, there is (2 large multi pin plugs), with the battery DISCONNECTED, remove the plugs and check they are clean, dry and corrosion free.
  15. I found this one here.........I have downloaded and scanned it, seems to be ok (5328), but cannot vouch for quality of it. https://drive.google.com/u/0/uc?id=1sHpwduaniYoosbBgt3-4BmMy2LfvJpGG&export=download On the flip side............Often links as you say are broken or are hosted on dodgy sites, sometimes you may just have to get the wallet out...... https://www.latestsatnav.co.uk/latest-5238-software-update-for-skoda-columbus-rns510-navigation-308-p.asp You "may" need new map update after this as well. https://www.satnavishop.co.uk/skodavw-rns510810-navigation-ver-2020-2021-sat-nav-map-update-disc-v17-327-p.asp
  16. if you only broke one side, fit that side first and "flex" the good side in afterwards. I have only done one when I replaced a torn lid on my mums car, seem to remember that was the way to do it, but as you say "glued" plastic has no flex in it anymore.
  17. So am I dude, you said the LID.......so did I if you read my post again.
  18. as far as I remember, it just springs into position, so if the hinges of the lid are broke its unlikely to be able to get it back in again in one piece
  19. one option would be a parrot kit, this would give bluetooth streaming and total hands free telephone but leave the car interior "untouched" https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/394719202168? Other option would be a new headunit which is bluetooth etc ready, as an example........in fairness these are incredibly good value considering how much tech is inside. Halfords do a fitting service if you cannot DIY, you would need to purchase an additonal CAN bus adapter for this to fully intergrate with the car system. https://www.halfords.com/technology/car-audio/dab-car-stereos/pioneer-deh-s720dab-car-stereo-267982.html?stockInventory=undefined with the above option you would need a single DIN adapter to convert the dash, very easu to fit, on the flip side you get another cubby hole for junk or more importantly your phone so your cup holders are free. 😀 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171556569071? I would "avoid" cheap chinese double din units, they are pretty awful in operation "imo".
  20. Sounds to me that the cornering lights function is enabled / coded when it's not fitted on the vRS. It's likely the control unit "senses" that the steering is turned, but the bulb / light has not lit (which would be front fog on non vRS models, hence throws a bulb failure error
  21. There is often no power as such at the Radio as it's controlled through the CAN bus system. So you will probably have to find and ignition live eleswhere to get power to the parrot unit. A piggy back fuse will work, just pick a low powered circuit.
  22. which ever you buy, make sure it has 4 cylinders !!
  23. I used these guys for my old TDi Fabia vRS, they were very helpful with quick delivery and rack came complete with new rods etc and looked very well "remanufactured". Fitted first time and was all good. I would certainly call them wothout a doubt for a rack for my twincharge RS if it needed one. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254349079564?hash=item3b3862f40c:g:k-0AAOSwa3pjwXzO
