  1. Mini update, I rang the HQ of the garage who refilled my ac and the local manager called me back saying it’s my own fault for lifting the bonnet up, err what? I can see this ending up in a small claims court if it has to, I found the law which clearly states they shouldn’t have filled it and detected the leak Skoda has some answering as well because I had it serviced in March and part of the oil and inspection is to do a diagnostic check, I didn’t get a report back but assumed all well and the low refrigerant would have popped up as a warning. I’m guessing error codes can be time stamped?
  2. I may have dreamt it turned off by the sounds of it, about right
  3. Can someone here please take a photo of the high pressure pipe on your car with xenons? I’d like to know if the headlight cable touches your high pressure pipe like mine did thanks
  4. I’m on the mend now I think, had really bad stomach pains all yesterday with bloody loose poops, rang 111 and is on the expected list. It took them hours to get back to me and they had a call with someone to find this out before they got back me. What a nightmare!
  5. Well what an evening turns out my body doesn’t agree with a mouthful of Freon (R134a) and inhaling it, ended up in A&E!
  6. Yeah not too happy about that, I found the pipe and it’s £270 or so on ETKA mine said £299 but not updated price in a while No idea how much main dealers charge per hour but roughly £330 for Labour which I guess is a good couple of hours to replace as it does look fiddly
  7. you can just about see the thicker cables for the headlight, could of have really made a hole from rubbing? p.S on that picture I moved the headlight cable slightly, might be worth everyone here moving the cables just in case. Heard back from the dealer seems like £720 ish to sort, parts and labour, I hope that includes new refrigerant too
  8. Had my car booked in for a recharge, drone back lovely and cold, lifted up the bonnet to see the fan spinning lovely, then I heard a hissing sound Saw where it was coming from and it’s by the cable which goes into the back of the headlights moved that and could see it all ****ing out So I do indeed have the first ever problem in the car and looks an ass to fix doh
  9. I know they pressurised it but didn’t know what with tbh. When they refill I’m sure it’ll be fine again. Out or interest how often do you replace yours?
  10. That’s usually where it’s at but I had just waxed the car and sweated to death so when I got in it I wanted to feel ice cold, then Sod’s law happened 😭
  11. Oh I didn’t know it still loses some fluid, I guess as it’s just gone passed it’s 7th birthday it’s definitely time to rehash, I’ll stick to every 2 years in the future
  12. I tent to have it on auto + ac and turned the temperature to low today as it’s been 20/21oC for last 6 months because of winter. I’ll get it booked for a recharge next week and hopefully it’s just because it’s low. I swear the Passat b5.5 use to turn ac off if there was a problem such as low refrigerant whereas the superb still has the ac light on 😞 I don’t think it’s worked properly for a while as I’m sure in winter I had some digging inside and it took ages to clear which should have been an indicator to me that ac not working doh Will find out and update Tuesday or Wednesday when everything is open again
  13. First bit of proper warmth today and I decided to set the a/c to low and wasn’t impressed I turned the a/c on and off a few times with the bonnet open and I can see two fans and neither are spinning. I admit I’ve neglected the system a bit as it’s 2016 and never been recharged so hoping it’s just that, my mindset has always been it’s a sealed system so shouldn’t need it but hopefully I’m just wrong. I doubt there’s anything I can check or do without diagnostic equipment? I believe the UK law is they empty it then fill it with oxygen and if it’s hold pressure they can then refill, if it doesn’t I guess there’s a leak.
  14. If it’s in warranty take it to them ASAP, do not mention that slamming seems to temp fix it as they’ll then bound to say slamming it has caused it, even though it temp fixes it No point waiting because if it’s a case where it’s in and out it’s better they try to fix it whilst it’s in warranty and looks less suspicious
  15. Forgot to update this, I done a web chat with Skoda uk and wouldn’t tell me. I then rang my local Skoda who said I have the 3W3 (2016 SEL) but I’m convinced they said I did to get me off the phone. I’ll find out for sure whenever I change the bulbs
  16. Are you the Crasher from ukpassats/vwaudiforum years ago?
  17. This might not be that helpful if you don’t know German, I don’t do no idea what he’s saying but I do know the oil temps are a lot higher so I think you’ll be fine and I’m sure mines around 110 too https://youtu.be/TEf_0Jpoy5o
  18. I got the Mann filter, you can go on their website and find the correct one. When you change the pollen filter make sure you put a bit of cardboard under the pollen filter then pull the cardboard out whilst holding the pollen filter. Majority of the videos online don’t do this 😞
  19. I don’t believe anyone has managed to fit boot lights without some sort of problems unless they’ve bought these http://www.kopacek.com/Skoda/SUPERB-III/Superb-III-Combi-MEGA-POWER-LED-cargo-trunk-light-KI-R Rather expensive but if they fit and guaranteed to work then it’ll be the best option
  20. This has been a problem for years in cars, years ago cars were built then priced. These days they are built to a price. Seems scrimping on things which were once the norm is the way forward 😞
  21. I believe I found the part and it’s called Tunnel Brace according to elsawin, but it looks like to take it off you need to move loads of plastic parts which I can’t be bothered to do. What I’ll do is rust convert and rust oleum combi colour it. I’ll do this as I’ve just done the same on my wife’s Fiat 500’s rear axle so already have the parts.
  22. Not my car, but see near the centre of the car there's a bar, that's the one
  23. Hello, I not long had a service and noticed my center cross member was really rusty, they didn't mention anything about it, but i'd like to get it treated before it becomes a problem as it looks like it's not coated as standard. I believe the part is possibly 5Q0 804 421B from looking at the parts system, but i'm not sure as that could be closer to the engine. It's the part which is under the exhaust in the centre of the car, if anyone happens to know what the torque settings are that'll be ideal, as i'd like to take it off to coat it then put it back on Thanks
  24. My cars a March 2016 and on original AGM and it’s still going strong, I tend to do around 3-4K a year. I believe I’ve had it twice in the last 3 or 4 years where it says “12v low, drive to charge” Based on my experience I’d get another AGM as I’ve heard EFB’s on here failing and much younger than mine. When you get it replaced do get it coded especially as it’s going from 68 to 70. You’ll see the new battery does not have a BEM code as this is what Vag put on themselves but whoever codes this should know what they’re doing. I’d recommend looking for a vag specialist and just say you got the battery can they fit and code for you, be easiest and they’ll know what to do correctly first time
  25. On that video he resets the oil then pops up with inspection at the end but then it didn’t come back. If yours still comes back then yeah it’ll need something like VCDS or similar
