  1. When I visited my local dealer (for the last time I think) I asked one of the sales reps to check an octavia and he wasn’t sure why but I showed him and he said “yeah that’s going to be an issue” We did check on a brand new car and they seemed to work but couldn’t find the traffic option
  2. A pheasant flying on its own accord is surprising. If your insurance uses AutoGlass insist on an OE windscreen, I did after reading the pain people have gone through on here. I’m still not sure how Autoglass make money because the chip repair was done which I guess they claimed from my insurance, but as the work is warrantied the complete replacement was free and Skoda OE stamped which wouldn’t be cheap
  3. I replaced the rear with a Bosch one as the rear wiper made a horrible sound and yeah it was silent again, so I bought Bosch fronts too but I’ll fit them after Autoglass guy goes just so I know the old ones still work okay after windscreen replacement. New ones I got is A864S but there was another one for my car so hoping I got the right ones first time
  4. Back in October I had my first ever chip in my windscreen, out of view thankfully but got it repaired by Autoglass then in March I noticed the repair had another hairline crack so rang Autoglass thinking they could repair it again, nope whole new windscreen required. I told the person I wanted OE replacement and he went on his way because he had a non genuine, he said he’d let AutoGlass know then a week later it was organised again to fit a new windscreen and was a different brand yet again, I said no again. Then it got reorganised for today and it’s genuine 😁 so that’s going in now I also bought some new wipers as still on the good 2016 originals but best time to change them
  5. If you do get a new wheel from Skoda be sure to get it from the accessories brochure as it’s much cheaper than a direct replacement from the normal part system
  6. Surely if they say it’s obsolete then they will have to upgrade all our devices so it works? No where in any of the manuals does it say TMC will cease to work from March 2023. I’m already going through Skoda UK about something completely different, otherwise I’d chip in but don’t want to annoy them just yet
  7. It’s a shame this hasn’t happened in America as there would be a lawsuit by now. It is annoying though because nowhere does it say the traffic reports would stop after a certain date, so it’ll be interesting how VAG UK will handle this
  8. Yeah I saw those but couldn’t see any here specifically (Superb section), so just wondering is it all VAG cars or could some still be working. What I can’t tell is if brand new cars are affected too, or wether it’s just MIB2’s and possibly 2.5
  9. As this seems to be a large problem and should be affecting all cars, can you let me know if yours is working? thanks
  10. I have this issue on my 2016 Superb too, pressing the Traffic button says 0 reports and TMC logo has a red line through it 😞
  11. That’s fine, the cars not 20 years old though it’s a 2016 it may have had a recharge before I bought it in 2018 not too sure, be in the paperwork somewhere though
  12. The garage to my house is roughly 1-2 minutes, so it’s become evident it was leaking before they even touched it, which is why my ac didn’t run. I can’t actually see the hole, the picture is from the top but if you looked from the front of the car the hole is there. p.S I’d have a grip if I had my car worked on and didn’t end up in a&e having all sorts done!
  13. As your car is 2015 it might be worth ringing your local dealer as there was a semi recall about this, essentially it’s just a software fix they need to apply
  14. Mini update, I rang the HQ of the garage who refilled my ac and the local manager called me back saying it’s my own fault for lifting the bonnet up, err what? I can see this ending up in a small claims court if it has to, I found the law which clearly states they shouldn’t have filled it and detected the leak Skoda has some answering as well because I had it serviced in March and part of the oil and inspection is to do a diagnostic check, I didn’t get a report back but assumed all well and the low refrigerant would have popped up as a warning. I’m guessing error codes can be time stamped?
  15. I may have dreamt it turned off by the sounds of it, about right
  16. Can someone here please take a photo of the high pressure pipe on your car with xenons? I’d like to know if the headlight cable touches your high pressure pipe like mine did thanks
  17. I’m on the mend now I think, had really bad stomach pains all yesterday with bloody loose poops, rang 111 and is on the expected list. It took them hours to get back to me and they had a call with someone to find this out before they got back me. What a nightmare!
  18. Well what an evening turns out my body doesn’t agree with a mouthful of Freon (R134a) and inhaling it, ended up in A&E!
  19. Yeah not too happy about that, I found the pipe and it’s £270 or so on ETKA mine said £299 but not updated price in a while No idea how much main dealers charge per hour but roughly £330 for Labour which I guess is a good couple of hours to replace as it does look fiddly
  20. you can just about see the thicker cables for the headlight, could of have really made a hole from rubbing? p.S on that picture I moved the headlight cable slightly, might be worth everyone here moving the cables just in case. Heard back from the dealer seems like £720 ish to sort, parts and labour, I hope that includes new refrigerant too
  21. Had my car booked in for a recharge, drone back lovely and cold, lifted up the bonnet to see the fan spinning lovely, then I heard a hissing sound Saw where it was coming from and it’s by the cable which goes into the back of the headlights moved that and could see it all ****ing out So I do indeed have the first ever problem in the car and looks an ass to fix doh
  22. I know they pressurised it but didn’t know what with tbh. When they refill I’m sure it’ll be fine again. Out or interest how often do you replace yours?
  23. That’s usually where it’s at but I had just waxed the car and sweated to death so when I got in it I wanted to feel ice cold, then Sod’s law happened 😭
  24. Oh I didn’t know it still loses some fluid, I guess as it’s just gone passed it’s 7th birthday it’s definitely time to rehash, I’ll stick to every 2 years in the future
  25. I tent to have it on auto + ac and turned the temperature to low today as it’s been 20/21oC for last 6 months because of winter. I’ll get it booked for a recharge next week and hopefully it’s just because it’s low. I swear the Passat b5.5 use to turn ac off if there was a problem such as low refrigerant whereas the superb still has the ac light on 😞 I don’t think it’s worked properly for a while as I’m sure in winter I had some digging inside and it took ages to clear which should have been an indicator to me that ac not working doh Will find out and update Tuesday or Wednesday when everything is open again
