What bulbs are fitted to the S3 & upgraded bulb recommendations
Is this just for the boot door lights only? Also what’s the deal with the wiring harness supplied, is it car loom plugs into that then the supplied wiring into the lights?

What have you done to your Superb III today?
I remember reading that on here, but it’s thankfully only 1.3cm from end to end and on the passenger side outside of the wiper, so should just be a normal chip repair and more than 3cm from the edge

Software update
Is there a way to legitimately get the firmware? I’m getting some funky things going on with Bluetooth mostly and wondering if updating it would help. I don’t want to appear rude but if there’s a legit way of updating like satnav I’d love to know

Tyres annoyance....
Changing size will require to tell insurance to be 100% honest and covered. I went with these and absolutely love them, so much more quieter than the P7’s and had recently went through loads of massive puddles at 70mph and steering wheel hardly moved compared to the P7’s which was more scary https://www.asdatyres.co.uk/goodyear/eagle-f1-asymmetric-6?width=235&profile=40&diameter=19 https://www.camskill.co.uk/m55b8935s3932p0/Car_Tyres_-_MPV_Tyres_-_People_Carrier_Tyres_-_19_inch_Goodyear_Tyres_Car_Goodyear_Eagle_F1_Asymmetric_6_-_R19_inch_-_235_40_19_235_40R19 I got them from Camskill when they first come out at £150 per tyre but that’s just the tyre delivered, whereas Asda is full price so just chose your garage and done, just like blackcircles but that’s £196 fitted which is bonkers

Managed to get a stone hit my windscreen and cause a small crack. Almost 20 years of driving and first time ever, annoying but I guess it had to happen eventually

At wit's end with a coolant issue
Personally I’d get something like this https://vi.raptor.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemDescV4&item=230723938073&category=43998&pm=1&ds=0&t=1640273183000&ver=0&cspheader=1 Then one evening go out and have a look, cheap enough and easily DIY

Middle Seat Width
I’ve always found this to be a strange law personally. Is it possible to have your eldest sit in the front seat with the booster and the other adult sit in the middle? Ample room for the adult in the middle and no more distracting looking back all the time

Pencil behind dashboard!
How did you remove the scuttle btw? I’m sure when I checked mine I had to take the wiper blades off, is that the only way?
-
New battery time, recommendations?
Yep, go with Varta

Flickering head lights
All Skoda had to do was provide a panel which can be removed like the A6, but I think it was a case of Simply CBA I’m changing my bulbs soon as they’re pretty poor, I just don’t know whether to get Osram NBL or CBN

What bulbs are fitted to the S3 & upgraded bulb recommendations
Has anyone on here used the Osram CBN d3s bulb? First time I’ve used the headlights in ages and forgot how bad my bulbs are. I’m struggling to decide on my next bulbs either Osram next gen laser or cool blue intense (next gen aka cbn) I must admit I like the LED look and these are street legal, but lower Kelvin gives more light hmm, not exactly cheap nor easy to fit so hard decision

Superb Estate foreign travel bulb kit
You could get a really cheap d3s bulb from Amazon or ebay. I doubt they’re that arsey in the hopefully unlikely event but at least you’ll have it. something like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/403816868255?hash=item5e055c699f:g:-mkAAOSw-~Vi7Nji&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoJnQjwxAZRjWa7o0Dda8XYXfzGw9JWqde%2F%2BcwyzATHt8gn%2F2U80xfZ58jrm18YsrhulJENtT%2FL5Olr2gWV%2FlY5ykO7DTy6HWaxfLSCYqsihIMr2GeeF5PO4ETqrweXU3MpUgVgbtyD%2B9Yg2nzDPpC4Z9FIcnhpBwCIk6FPzNkJnXv%2FH3aEGUwF1YkO8Ea5xPEZ80lGU2OIeKiQMB7pPMGS4%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR8aQvfLWYA

Loose interior object rattle
Woohoo, wonder if your car was an undercover police car in a previous life

Windscreen washer woot woots
Been a long day, but clearly not as bad as yours

Windscreen washer woot woots
Sorry my mind has gone completely blank as to what they’re called, I’ve been calling them woot woots for so many years now I’ve forgotten. The washers for my superb are not particularly brilliant anymore, I know we can fit ones from the Passat for the fan type spray, but is that all? Recently been in father in laws A4 and the spray is so much better, even my wife’s fiat 500 is great as A4 and 500 both have 3 jets. So it’s making my wonder would an Audi A4 (maybe a6) washer fit? My car doesn’t have the heated jets p.s are they just called washer jets? 😂 woot woot still sounds better though

Wiring Harness1394046-1 for multimedia unit
I’ve never used waze, but couldn’t you of just used android auto or whatever it’s called? Seems like you’re going to cause more issues than gains, but I guess you had a reason you’ve not mentioned

Dash LED strip problem.
That ol’ chesnut im wondering if you could stick one of these near it for a few days https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/pingi-reusable-car-dehumidifier-549771822 or a hair dryer at a distance but enough for it to get mild/warm but not hot and see if that helps

...Yet another servicing query.
The exact times is in the files on Erwin, but I can’t quite remember but it’s around 8 years if I recall, yet over here 5 years/50k for some reason
-
...Yet another servicing query.
It’s funny that UK cambelts need changing at a time/miles level yet in mainland Europe it’s every 8 years regardless of miles, or something like that. #fearfactor 😞

I didn't know it could do that...
Mega old thread revival I’ve never actually set my alarm off so I’m not sure if the alarm is siren only or whether it’s linked to the horn too, but it might be worth seeing if you can set the alarm off, which I’d guess is windows down, lock it and wait a while then try opening by reaching in and try to open the door. This should set the alarm off and hopefully hear the siren, you’ll then know if your siren is working or not. When you lock your car do your indicators flash? As you may have another issue with faulty door sensors, if it flashes then I’d guess not. I did see the workshop manual and it did say to replace the siren after 7 years I think it was, so maybe yours has died. But yeah try to set the alarm off, see if it sets Also find the siren and make sure it’s plugged in

Loose interior object rattle
Few more places I’d check would probably be drop the glovebox and check the pollen filter, just in case and probably change pollen filter whilst there Fully bring back both seats and check around that area as I’ve dropped all sorts down there thanks to the annoying gap Remove the door sill panels, the ones where you open the door and see the long plastic bit Remove the panels where your feet are at the sides, might be worth doing the passenger one too, just in case You said you have a sunroof, fully open that if you can and check the channels in there. Lastly buy a cheap endoscope camera with a light and attach that to your phone (android better I believe) then you can put that down the vents, also check the ones for the rear passenger feet vents, as well as the rear center vents
-
Loose interior object rattle
Ah man, You said it can be heard if you go left then go right and also forwards and backwards Does it sound like it travels longer going left/right or forwards/backwards? Is this a sudden new noise or new car to you?
-
Loose interior object rattle
Have you looked in the front passenger under seat compartment? it’s all plastic I believe so might be echoing
-
"Convenience" window opening with remote stopped working.
Have you tried a spare key? I’m sure I had this on my Passat and it was the battery getting low but not enough to trigger the dash warning

New Superb in 2023?
Looks a bit like an a6 avant from the rear which I approve of, but that camo is good so who knows
