  1. I soundproofed my trunk on pre-FL - floor, sides and lid. On rough road it did no make any difference really. On good roads it became quieter though. Changing tires actually gave more difference than soundproofing. So I guess this is how Octavias are...
  2. I'd be a fan of Skoda for life if they actually had some channel for end users to communicate back to developers. Can't really rely on workshops in the process, they often seem to not bother at all.
  3. I think it doesn't shut down if you leave the key inside. If it's in your pocket, nothing gonna prevent it from shutting down. Annoyingly, mine shuts down even when I already sit back and about to move.
  4. Might be helpful to select a service partner in MySkoda app. Then the app reports problems directly to workshop, and as far as I understand, does it right away as error pops up. So even if nothing left in logs for some reason (which I doubt when it comes to drive errors), there will be evidence of smth being wrong.
  5. There are tons of Octavias out there with 12V issues, including 2023 models which do not charge 12V battery at all. It is fun to see them trying to avoid fixing yours, making it look like your fault. I would request them to provide evidence that anything was damaged by the supposed spill, I'd say simply picture of something liquid near something won't be a proof enough in court, would it? Let em show what short circuited there. Perhaps they could also demonstrate how supposedly spilled stuff got there inside? On pics you posted I see no signs of it being leaked from above.
  6. Good to know. It just looks exactly as on FL, but myself, I've never seen it myself on pre-FL cars, including 2023 models.
  7. On first picture is FL, on second one is pre-FL. I guess in a short while the only questions being figured out on this board will be the confusion between facelift and older models.
  8. No. Correct conclusion is identifying and fixing your problem which kills 12V. Sorry can't help with that, you'd need to look for competent techs and maybe involve Skoda to get it resolved.
  9. Charges 12V battery when HV is charged, supplies power to 12V system from HV when ignition is on. When ignition is off, no amount of power in HV saves you from flat 12V. When I had issues with 12V that was my question why the hell HV can't charge 12V on its own. Later I learned that many, if not all EVs have the same issue.
  10. Just a reminder, the car can't charge 12V battery from HV battery. So there's no connection between two.
  11. If you bought Skoda, you are going to get used to pulling fuses. Dealers would often do the same for you but for a price and keeping your car for half a day.
  12. Quite frankly, I understood nothing. Are you on adaptive cruise control? Why do you come closer to the car in front despite your car braking? It's not like you have 60mph speed difference between two, is it? Mine will use regen to just slow down to match the speed and will keep distance to the car in front, unless I overcome it by accelerating intentionally. It will only (I guess, never tried that) apply brakes in emergency if I will continue accelerating too close to the car upfront, but that is not quite normal behavior on the road.
  13. Could you elaborate what you mean by that?
  14. That is normal behavior for the app since it was first rolled out, no matter the version. Most of the time data still goes to the car, but app can't retrieve anything form the car back. If you stand next to your car and activate heating, you will often hear it actually starts even though app doesn't show anything. Also, use departure planner to preheat it in the morning or when you finish work. You don't need an app for that.
  15. If you want control car features from the app, you need to buy Care Connect - Remote Access. Your car does not need a data plan for that, those are two different services. This is what you need from skoda-connect.com:
  16. Are you set up as a main user in the car? The process that involves two keys.
  17. There is a spot for the key where it will work even with empty battery. It is not on a charging pad though.
  18. These cars really have terrible traction control on 1st and 2nd gears, imo. No matter the tires, one should be very gentle with gas pedal when start moving. Also I had problem with shocks and that made car more wobbly and unstable, which felt at times like there's no grip. Apart of that, I find stability and handling to be very well. I have exactly the same experience. Terrible on stock Eagle F1, great on Turanza 6. Turanza is quieter as well. But this is very divisive topic here, many would claim exactly the opposite.
  19. I'm not sure that's exactly the case. When car is parked but ignition is on, all 12V consumers are drawing power from HV somehow. I mean, switch on music, fans, etc and you see consumption in the range of 0.5-0.9kWh/h on the VC. Does it bypass 12V battery or does it go through the battery, I don't know. But myself I often sit in the car for long time and as long as ignition is on, it drains HV battery and 12V stays charged.
  20. Or, 7 eur for one hour access to eriwn. Enough to download everything related to your car, including it's full spec with codes and descriptions, as well as TPIs, repair manuals, etc.
  21. If you disconnect it, you won't have any warnings. Car won't recognize there is someone sitting there. Whether it affects correct work of airbags, I don't know.
  22. They could have fixed your car instead ffs. Excessive drain of 12V is years old problem and there were solutions rolled out like 2 years ago already. After they applied fixes and changed battery on mine, I had no issues whatsoever, even though I have a habit to sit there and listen to music for hours sometimes. Before that was the same story as yours. All in all, despite cars being obviously flawed, it all comes down to a particular dealer/workshop if you'll have a good experience in the end or not.
  23. Not sure I understand how is this possible, unless you leave your key inside. Mine shuts down when I go away with the key in my pocket, to the point when it becomes annoying, like I want to quickly take smth from the back and everything shuts down in just like 10 seconds.
  24. Push Skoda to contribute as it is a known design flaw. There are people who got it fixed for free or for a fraction of cost after warranty was expired.
  25. Happy to see they are finally rolling out OTA updates for older cars.
