No fluid in hybrid coolant header tank
Joining the club. Had my car towed yesterday with completely empty HV cooling circuit. No leaks, no puddles, just sudden cooling system error on dashboard when circuit was already dry, I only could hear how pump tries to push whatever leftovers were somewhere there. Since I saw no leaks I suspect the worst, that it all went to battery somehow. Also during a week or so before that I had smell of vinegar when starting the car for after it was parked for long time (overnight or work) and now I think if that is connected, since people on this topic mention that AC may be a contributing factor. Though I'd expect to smell antifreeze rather than vinegar. Do you have any updates?

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
Can't believe what I've heard today, but they are finally changing my screen and 12V battery.

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
In my case infotainment reboots after a minute or two of being in on/off loop. I had no reboots before on/off thing started to happen. So I'd argue these are not unrelated things.

It is not just old, it is quite different too. Not sure what car you have, but when I got 1668 on my PHEV it lacked wireless Android Auto, remote AC and some other things.

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
Mine went to workshop today again, one of the reported problems is volume going up or down and on/off loop. Interesting that while infotainment turning on and off constantly, park assist pops up above and works well, while the thing goes on and off on the background. Also while parking in workshop I disconnected dashcam and on/off thing started again, like if it was triggered by disconnecting dashcam. I can only wonder if it was a coincidence. Anyway, told the guys that they should finally try to swap the screen. Not sure they won't give it back to me all the same, saying again "we applied update, see how it goes".

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
Then that's the best news. Perhaps they finally run out of older hardware. Before, at least in my case, they were insisting that what catalogue shows according to VIN, that they install, no matter if there are newer and more stable versions available.

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
They will place the same part according to your VIN, so no changes there. Though before accepting the car, check that all SW is updated to the same version as before. When they were changing my infotainment, they were giving me car back with 1668 every time 🤦♂️ If they change only screen, I guess that might not be the case, though I can never be sure that people working on front desk know what they are talking about and what exactly will be changed. So better to double check.

Had it once, disappeared and never came back again.

If car is under warranty, they will eventually fix it. Until it comes up next time. If you have no warranty, reject the car asap since repairs are expensive.

Infotainment system switches itself on
There won't be any fault code. As far as I am aware, it is possible to see logs and see at least reboots there triggered by some errors, but no fault codes as those which prompt messages on dashboard, which workshops use as an excuse to do nothing. You need to record your VIN together with the issue. So make a video of the problem and then move camera to show VIN under the windshield. They can't reject this evidence. Yes, it is. As someone who had 20+ trips to workshops and most of them were because of similar issues, I know. Saying all that, my issue appeared again after I thought that switching off wifi helped. On top of that now volume goes up. Though they were supposed to deal with my infotainment yesterday during planned visit to change gear selector, they did nothing because they "had no connection with Skoda and couldn't do any works" and gave me next appointment in 2 weeks from now. Yay! Love this brand more and more.

- Using travel assist in traffic jam - is it good or bad for the longevity of DSG gear box?
That's right. Though I'm curious where the difference in behavior would come from? On low speeds in traffic jam regen does not work, same as I'd expect ICE car with DSG couldn't brake with engine when the speed is too low already.- Using travel assist in traffic jam - is it good or bad for the longevity of DSG gear box?
I can tell only about my experience with PHEV. It actually engages brake too sharply and firmly to my liking. It waits for the car in front to move some distance, release brake fully and starts accelerating to maintain distance. When car in front stops, Octavia comes a bit closer and stops what feels like it if I was pushing brake pedal and not releasing it by the end, so braking would be smoother. Does not feel like feathering the brake at all.- Infotainment system switches itself on
Ok, so I was commenting in this thread earlier without expecting to come later today to my car and find it in an on/off loop When parked at home, infotainment was switching on while car is locked. This time it is wireless AA though. Switched off car's wifi and that solved the issue. Just another example that apart of screen or its buttons there may be many other causes...- Infotainment system switches itself on
I also had all possible issues when it is hot outside (+40 is not uncommon where I live), though workshop insisted it was never an issue with the screen itself, but something else. They could not explain what exactly, they were invoicing change of MIB module and in the end combination of new MIB, new SW on it solved the issue. It reappeared a few times since then but that's about it. So perhaps it is not the screen indeed. That's why I think would be nice if someone gets more details from techs to see what they actually do. Also, mine was starting up during the night in garage as well after being exposed to the heat on the previous day.- Infotainment system switches itself on
Would be very helpful if those who managed to fix problem would give as much tech details here as possible, so others could guide their dealers on what should be done.- Octavia iV High Speed Handling
Shocks are changed in pairs, so I have all 4 new.- Octavia iV High Speed Handling
Please keep us updated. I'm curious what could be the problem in your case. Myself I'm looking for some third party garage with proper equipment to check at least shocks, since Skoda can't be bothered beyond visual inspection.- Octavia iV High Speed Handling
Here is my experience. After I bought my car, it was handling spotlessly on high speeds, which I always liked about this platform, since I had different cars built on it and they were always sticking solidly to the road. I did trips in Germany with half day driving at 170km/h+ and it was just as it should be. Then my front left shock died and car became wobbly even on low speeds. It was changed and just a few days after the rear left died, too. It was changed and at first I thought all problems are solved, but then I started noticing that in some situations car doesn't feel so stable anymore even in city, notably on roundabouts. When I took it on a freeway some time later, it felt like the car is going on its own, like if I'm driving first gen Dacia or smth like that, absolutely no confidence in it sticking to the road. I complained to workshop about that, they did a a few test trips and said all is ok. So now I need to figure out, whether they just don't see the problem (since they don't have equipment to test and ofc they won't bother going with it on freeways to make a proper run) or, with brand new shocks the car is actually worse than with those which were about to die, and then I just need to change my car. No matter what one could say, for me stability on high speeds is crucial.- HAD ENOUGH
For the first batch of cars (2020, early 2021) not all problems are solved. And I suspect there is no solution at all, since hardware is very old and there might be no even a possibility to update it. I wouldn't go for a car with H56 no matter on which SW it is running. Also pay attention that there are faulty DSG selectors and it is a costly replacement if wasn't done. As well as possibly a bunch of mechanical issues, like many people reported left shocks dying early (in my case in Spain it costs 750 to change a pair).- Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
And be prepared for Skoda not having any solution to this problem. Just sayin.- Locking pin for EV cable will not engage followed by complete 12v battery failure.
Not advising anything, but following other groups with PHEV owners, that seems to be the solution to the problem. Perhaps in the workshop they just do the same as a first thing to try.- Tyres: low slung or normal?
That does not sound right for a modern car. Speaking of my Octavia, it shows 1,5-2km/h higher on any speed, be it 20 or 180. Checked both with GPS and radars. Factory fitted 225/45R18.- 1.4 TSI iV vRS DSG 2021 Estate - Wish List
Yes, wrong. Charger requires about 1kW available to work at all, so with 5W it won't even start up.- Infotainment turning on when car is off
Known issue. Battery may be dead as fast as in a few hours, so beware. Until it is fixed, one option is to pull infotainment's fuse overnight. First, update it to SW 1941 or above. Then, if didn't help, you may try to turn off proximity sensor and gesture recognition in infotainment's settings. Another thing to try is putting car in private mode. See if it helps. If not, Skoda will say you have to swap infotainment, that costs around 1500 + tax (in EU) for the for the part only. - Using travel assist in traffic jam - is it good or bad for the longevity of DSG gear box?
