  1. Light bulb, earth point, broken wire (probably at the hinge)?
  2. As @Warrior193 suggests, there is no such thing as a lockable glovebox for a car.
  3. No. There is (or should be) a manufacture date code on the belt, but that's not visible
  4. Sadly no; in fact you're not even meant to feel the kickback much these days.
  5. Why not post in thread "$daft_name upgrade for infotainment"? That actually tells people what you have an issue with.
  6. Other symptoms like smoke quantity, engine runaway?
  7. Now guess why they're known as "main stealers".
  8. As @SkOmk4 what do you mean by this?
  9. Actually not the legal issue here. He removed it and lost it, and is now trying to weasel out of making restitution.

Let me list some of the things that Lane Enforce will at least try and stop you doing:- Straight lining. Now that is not always safe, but if you do it there is usually no-one around to see your signal. Lane changing left without signalling (UK). In what counties is a signal necessary in that circumstance? Driving to the side of a lane in order to avoid driving in flooded ruts. @Graham Butcher has already accepted that UK roads need better maintenance. This is just one of the reasons why. Emergency lane changing either way. Possibly masking or even stopping you wandering just far enough to run over cats eyes or lane edge rumble strips. I take doing this as a signal to take a break soonest.
  11. Correct temperatures for SAE oil viscosity testing inserted, underscore. Personally I'd choose 0W40 as pumping up fastest on start-up (you can have the oil pressure light go out before a cold engine even fires with 0W oil) and the lowest viscosity drop-off rate with rising temperature. ( SAE J300 standard )

Complete and utter bull****! Lane enforce will not prevent you from switching on an indicator and moving without observing.
  13. Which is why we ask you to fill in the location field. It makes advising on local to you garages and Consumer Rights legislation much easier.
  14. @homelessdrop - I'm with @SC03OTT on this; you're the only person to complain about "fragile headlamp covers".
  15. @simsim - The air itself is free; maintaining the compressor and airline costs money though.
  16. @LambSouvla These points may be related?
  17. That's easy then; fixing it at his expense is his problem.
  18. Either will handle better than a V@*xh@11 1n$19n1@, based on having driven an 1n$19n1@ and an Octavia over the same route.
  19. Well, it's about 35 miles away, but Victoria Garage in Maud have a reputation...
  20. You need a good DSG technician. Our chances of knowing someone near you right now will be increased if you state your current location in the thread.
  21. Em, antifreeze is one of 2 components in a mixture called "coolant". The other one is water, and since you live in Derbyshire I advise actually using deionised water rather than the local hard water.
  22. What, exactly, do you mean by this? There is such a thing as a handbrake switch, but it only controls the warning light on the dashboard and associated buzzer. It will not affect the operation of the handbrake.
  23. Er, not all Skoda problems are electronic or admit of fault codes. I think a failed a/c clutch is one such problem. Did you go to an automotive a/s specialist or just a regasser?
