  1. 'What no flags?'
  2. ^^^ Nonsense. DQ200 2 oils, in box and MCU, Filter in MCU. DQ381 the Main Dealers in the UK might say only change oil filter every 2nd Oil Change. 160,000 miles. Crazy. Watch a video of changing oil and filter. Messy getting filter out.
  3. The Fixed Service Regimes or Variable shown in the OP in km and miles are not how VW / Skoda UK show things. 40,000 miles / 80,000 miles. DQ250 / DQ381, 2 years or 3 years, pollen, brake fluid etc. Air Filter even 6 years / 60,000 miles. Haldex 3 years / 30,000 miles or sooner. (Audi often show 37,000 miles and not 40,000 like SEAT, SKODA, VW.)
  4. Same oil box and MCU in a wet clutch DSG. & there is a filter. Diffs have their own oil.
  5. To the factory employees. / Production line. PS. Pity it does not stay active. Then owners might get a warning the spare tyre well is full of water before finding it. Sunroof drains blocked. Rear Hatch seal, rear light gasket etc.
  6. Factory item for sensing damp / H2O. A common question / thread / subject for many a year now.
  7. @ngood77 Sorry but i see nothing that shows the demand on the battery is not high. I see the ambient temperature is showing 6.5 oC, but no setting for your Interior temp. was it set at more than 14*oC higher, eg 22 *oC? no idea if headlights on etc etc.
  8. Was there an over the air update, loose battery or just ran low while parked up. Some can operate around freezing ambient as soon as started and stopped after a few meters. The engine temperature need not be up to anything as in a particular Coolant or Oil temp for Stop / Start to operate. But too high a load will mean disabled. That can just be heated seats, screen, mirrors, etc, even AC on. PS. Stop / Start might not function if the interior / cabin is not at the requested temperature.
  9. Oil change service and inspection'. Oil Service & Inspection Service can show as 2 different things. So a reset needed. Oil Service. Inspection Service.
  10. @lol-lol I thought it would be a perfect 2 seater car, rears folded or an occasional 3 seater. But i sat in one last week just incase i was a bit fatter and taller when i last drove one. But it was still tight in the front and not very comfy. I sat yesterday in a KIA EV3. It was like being in a lounge. Difference price range obviously.
  11. @Patacrepe Welcome. Try a search on Google Images.
  12. The Technical Enquiry is BS. They could get the car to VW UK,s technical department if there was such a thing. They could get in a proper man or woman technician with all the gear and more than basic ideas. All the best with it.
  13. Once you have the Oil at the correct level, up in area A of the Dipstick at Normal Operating Temperature which is an indicated 90*oC and stopped for a few minutes, 4 or 5 not 10. See how many miles before it drops when checked the same way. Compare that level to a STONE COLD CHECK, then you will know you have enough oil before trips.
  14. Thanks. Sorry i missed that as being the cars total miles? How old is the car? best get it checked out.
  15. The colleagues are not doing return trips much more than 300 miles then. Plenty BEV drivers never need to use Public Chargers. Which really means their trips are just as far as the range of that cars battery from a Home or Workplace charge. As to time to Public Charge. That is not long using a Ul;tra Rapid Charger / Tesla Supercharger.
  16. @YMe You need to know if there are issues and what they might be. Needs checked for any Logged Fault Codes, misfires or other issues. How many miles has the car done?
  17. @derryvolgie Welcome to the forum. Is there a Service History showing items serviced as per schedule. Spark Plugs replaced, Air Filter, Brake Fluid etc etc. Tyres all OK and windscreen not too chipped?
  18. @Graham Butcher I am a regular visitor to Wind Farms. There are ones that are open for tourism & recreation. Ones with Vistor Centres and free slow charging. I see solar panels at the side or on the roof of farm buildings regularly. No issues there as far a visual impact to a farm yard area. The objections to solar and battery farms in Scotland is just ridiculous as far as the reason many give for objecting. I do read the Applications and objections many give. I would be letting them freeze in the dark.
  19. I was listening this morning to someone that was in Oil & Gas gas and doing early exploration in countries where they were the first going in to exploit these countries resources and facing opposition about spoiling wild country. They were reminded of when there was the same thing with mining. Their mantra bacame 'Stop mining and let the barstrewards freeze in the dark'. Same thing really with electricity then. If the community demands underground cabling then charge them the tariff 4 times that of overhead cabling. The real pith take is all the years there was a ban on onshore wind farm development in England until July 2024. Spoiling views....
  20. I can see that little use of the engine becoming an issue for the GPF. I hope you will be changing the engine oil on a Fixed Regime. As to petrol i would use E5 as it might be or should be less hygroscopic than E10. & Winter grade is less Hygroscopic than summer formulation. Which was why i was asking how old the petrol. Not filled up before November.
  21. @Graham Butcher I am not bothered by pylons and getting electricity where needed. Just pointing out that it seems OK for the Governments to approve running pylons for hundreds of miles to export that electricity and yet there are those bumping there gums about being end users and getting that electricity delivered over ground. Even being told they will be compensated if near enough to Super Pylons.
  22. No. How often does the engine get run, and for how long or how many miles? How many miles has the car done? When was the petrol tank last filled up, as in how old is the petrol?
  23. Some lovely scenery running down from the far north of Scotland or even just Beauly to Denny. From Kintore to Tealing & across the Scottish Borders. That is not bothering those that want their electricity transmitted overland to them hundreds of miles south. & want it cheaper than those that will be seeing these power lines.
  24. PS. I read your post from back in April 2025 about consumption and you not knowing about the car having a GPF. What sort of miles do you do each day. or weekly? April last year the same as this year it will be Summer Formulation petrol being sold rather than the Winter Formulation from November to March in the UK.
  25. @B3ano That was 80- miles worth of fuel wasted by them was it not? So were the spark plugs replaced at 40,000 miles, and was that after the fuel consumption was bad or before? Has the Air Filter been checked and is there a nice clean one in there? ..... Who did the Oil Services and was it 0w 20 FS IV VW508 00 / 509 00 oil showing as used. I wonder how the Dealership tech checked the viscosity of the oil used before they had to check? ? Was there a change of tyres fitted back 18 months ago? Whose E5 Super Unleaded do you use, and is that 97 or 99 octane?
