  1. Most likely your cheap Chinese replacement is not so genuine... Too bad, since somewhere in the near future I will have to replace mine too. Edit: There was already an older topic about this siren, which also shows its location:
  2. You might consider mentioning some more details about your Superb....
  3. Agreed. But regrettably that's the current state of technology. Since the introduction of all new emission regulating equipment long-term reliability of internal combustion engines has plummeted... We have a similar problem with our second car, a 2015 Citroen C3 with a 82 hp VTI engine. Oil consumption is rising, and an overhaul (or new engine...) will be needed around 120.000 km, which was also when our Superb's engine got his overhaul.
  4. @pandahill: If your car suffers from high oil consumption and still has the original, non-overhauled pistons, you need an engine overhaul. With this overhaul the PCV-valve is also always replaced, and the intake (which will most likely be clogged by soot) will be cleaned. But if you still want to replace just the parts, for my car (MY 2012) the correct part numbers are (or were in 2014, since that's the date of my ETKA version): Carbon filter: 1K0 201 801 E + pipe 1K0 201 160 BG PCV-valve: 06H 103 495 E Can't find the number for the valve. I would never buy cheap, no-name parts from Amazon though... Buying quality parts will prevent a lot of irritation...
  5. @Hot_Beef What happened when you followed the instructions from the instruction manual?
  6. That rubber strip is there just for decorative purposes and does not keep the water out. Please re-read my previous post (or watch a movie on Youtube about the mounting of a windscreen).
  7. If the water is coming in at the top of the A-pillar, than it's usually a windscreen that's not properly glued. Can be tested by removing the A-pillar cover, pressurizing the car interior (by turning on the blower and blocking the air vents in the back as much as possible) and using a smoke generator (which any decent garage should have) to release smoke around the suspect area of the windscreen.
  8. It might help if you'd specify the phones' brand, type and OS...
  9. Thé week spot of the DQ200 is its clutches. Mine only survived for the last 150.000 km's (and counting) because it has improved (after market) software and it was not overloaded with torque (kept it at stock 250 Nm). I would never recommend to strain it with a higher torque than the specified max of 250 Nm. Further agreed with @Ootohere: Topic starter @led57 should start by telling us what engine his Superb has...
  10. Sorry, I realize that "revise" is not the correct English word. I meant overhaul. So take the engine apart, and reassemble it with new pistons and piston rings (and usually also a new timing chain set, crankcase ventilation etc) to solve the oil consumption problem. But again. this can very quickly be diagnosed with a borescope.
  11. First of all: How much is "a bit of oil"? If it's over 1 liter / 2000 km, you have an oil burner. About the symptoms: I assume your 1.8 TSI hasn't been revised yet, and still has the old piston rings. Most likely these are the cause of your problem. The lower piston ring of cylinder 3 is most worn (or most clogged), and lets oil pass into the cylinder. There this oil causes the carbon built up, which destroys your spark plugs. In short: I think you need to revise your engine. I hope you are still in time. The cases I've heard of which had similar issues like yours also had damaged cylinder walls... An inspection with borescope can proof this theory in minutes.
  12. That must be a typo?
  13. @Chicane-UK If the rods are the same length, you don't need any calibration.
  14. @Chicane-UK: The problem is most likely the level sensor mounted to the lower control arm of your rear-left wheel. The hinge points of these sensors tend to rust and seize. New sensors are not very expensive, but you need to calibrate the head light level afterwards.
  15. You're still forgetting about the reprogramming of (I think the BCM) that is also required. And you have to figure out first whether that it's just reprogramming that's needed, or that you need a different BCM...
  16. @Geo59You're post is very unclear (what is an "ads module"🤔 for example), but if you're trying to replace the Halogen headlights by Xenon units, you need (much) more than just the headlights. You need (at least) the wheel level sensors on front and rear axis, and the ballasts for the head lights, and of course all the wiring for these. Also you need to program the appropriate modules, so the car electronics know that Xenon head units are installed.
  17. Again my question: What is the oil temperature? (Answer should be in °C)
  18. Since we do not have a crystal ball: giving some details about your car (at least engine and gearbox type and code) may help...
  19. Please use the search function, (or scroll a little back). This topic has been discussed a lot lately.
  20. What is the oil temperature? That is usually a very reliable measurement of the actual engine temperature. If you connect a simple OBD tool, what does that say about the coolant temperature? Do you see any suden rises?
  21. There is (should be) an owners manual in your car, which describes (among many other things) also this procedure. Advice: Read that manual and learn many functions of your car you did not know yet.
  22. Yes. Use OBD software like VCDS.
  23. "seems"? How have you determined that? What is the voltage during starting and during driving?
  24. That's very strange and I think you must have done something wrong with the diagnosis. Errors which pop up like yours are always logged and can be read with software like VCDS. Advice: Go to a capable garage and have them scan your car with the proper software. For the cause: Apart from undervoltage, a problem with the ABS-sensors (sensor, wiring or ring) could also cause this.
  25. Just this week a user posted a complete guide in the Dutch Skodaforum: https://www.skodaforum.nl/forum/i/repareren-lekkende-slang-ruitensproeiervloeistof-achterklep.49019/
