New to Skoda - where to buy parts/accessories UK?
Small enough and light enough to be sent by postal services not courier.

Tyre noise
P Zeros have lovers and haters - I'm a hater having found their wet weather grip to be close to zero. I would recommend either Goodyear F1 or Michelin Pilot which I have good experiences of.

Alternator output
I haven't heard any suggestion of that in the UK, have the EU suggested it officially? Google doesn't find anything?

Alternator output
Ban what? Banning stop/start or banning disabling stop/start? Banning stop/start seems unlikely as it's sole alleged benefit is emissions reduction. Banning disabling stop/start has effectively happened since 2019 when VAG stopped the tweaks from working.
-
Alternator output
Not banned, but the tweaks that permanently disable it no longer work (dieselgate issues). If you want the battery to be fully charged to best (only?) way is to unplug the current sensor so the alternator output is then not controlled by state-of-charge only battery voltage.

Glow Plug Flashing auto/stop start error.
Several things could cause that, you really need to find someone local with a diagnostic tool to see the actual fault code(s). See VCDS Owners map or List of VCDS owners

Don't hit pigeons.
In my Audi S4 when doing 70mph (cough!) on the M3 I hit a pigeon that was initially hit by the Transit in front and got thrown over the top, hit my drivers wing mirror casing - knocked the mirror off and left dangling by the wires. Clicked the mirror back into place, only 'damage' was a bit of pigeon blood on the mirror casing.

Alternator output
I was using a cigarette lighter socket voltage monitor last year during lockdown (1.4TSI original 5 year old battery): -ignition off after 4 weeks stopped, 12.2V - ignition on, 11,6V - engine started, 14.5V - while driving, initially 14.5V dropping to 12.6V then pulsing every few minutes up to 14.5V for a minute or so No additional loads like dashcam, etc.

Rear Light and registration bar for bike rack - Octavia estarte MK III
I wouldn't trust Halfords to fit a trailer socket - it needs to be properly integrated into the cars electronics using a trailer module and coding several electronic modules otherwise you will get all sorts of faults reported with the rear lights. Find a local towbar fitting company...

About to order a VRS which is the best engine?
Oxford ZEZ in Oxford city centre from next month (August 2021) isn't (yet...) a ban but a charging zone https://www.oxford.gov.uk/info/20299/air_quality_projects/1305/oxford_zero_emission_zone_zez

Keeping the selected preferences
My point is that it is not a whole day job for the dealer... they can do it while you wait (quicker than drinking a cup of their coffee).

The good, the (not so) bad and definitely not ugly Octavia iV Estate
That affected the early Octavia 3's too - until a new door seal design was introduced. I'm shocked that Skoda have repeated the same design fault with the Octavia 4
-
Keeping the selected preferences
All that needs to be done when replacing the battery like-for-like is to change one value - the stored battery serial number, that's it. Anyone competent with a diagnostic tool can do it in less than 5 minutes.

Start Stop memory device to remember the last over-ride switch setting.
At least with a hard wired switch there is still that option, but where it's a soft switch on the HVAC screen (like on the Octavia 4) there's no way to disable/remember stop/start.

Speed Limits on Amundsen Sat Nav
It took 5 YEARS for some changes I reported to make their way onto maps, so don't hold your breath for them to be corrected anytime soon. ... why I also use a separate GPRS updated speed camera warning device (except when in France).
-
Start Stop memory device to remember the last over-ride switch setting.
It can't - from maybe 2018 model year onwards (maybe even some 2017 MY cars) as VAG have made the previously known tweaks no longer work and nobody has found tweaks that do work.

Would you sell the car you love and why not?
Had to sell the Audi RS4 that I owned from new and loved in 2006 when I retired in 2016, I'd wanted a real V8 ever since I was a nipper so it was a real struggle. Why did I have to sell? Couldn't afford the running and maintenance (tyres and servicing) costs on the meagre pension I was on then. Only really loved one other car I've owned - a Brodie Brittan Racing tweaked Renault 5GT Turbo which weighed less than an empty baked bean can but with 180bhp (when tweaked) it challenged (brown stuff) falling off a shovel!

Auto Dip Wing Mirrors on Reverse

Michelin PS4s
As well as the PS4 Sport there are PS4 Super Sport in some sizes.

Indicator (and other) Issues after Locking
Small items (like interior bulbs) that can be sent by Royal Mail are fine from Kopacek, it's only large or heavy items that have to be sent by courier that are a problem post-Brexit.

Octavia long life service reset
I'd bet it's a HEX-CAN - which isn't suitable for 2019 models onwards because of the many changes that VAG have made.
-
Sat nav positional accuracy
GPS position accuracy depends on how many satellites it is receiving and able to decode - and how fast you are driving as it's only updated maybe once a second. Based on having car sat navs for 15+ years I would say 50m sounds not unusual when reception conditions are poor (thick cloud, heavy rain, etc.) or you are driving at say 60mph or more.

Octavia long life service reset
What cable type is it? A 2019 Octavia need either a HEX-V2 or HEX-NET cable because VAG (Skoda) have changed so many of the modules in the car to use CAN bus messages that the older HEX-CAN type leads cannot handle (no more room for firmware updates) - hence the error message on your 2019 Octavia but the lead working fine on your BIL 2016 Ibiza.
