Battery
You don't need a serial number on the battery, as @ApertureS said just change the serial number stored in the battery managment module by 1 digit.

ECO mode not staying engaged
I've made a similar change from a 1.4TSI to a 1.8TSI and observed the 1.8 coming out of ECO mode - but it's under situations where engine braking is required rather than just coasting , such as going down an incline (not even a hill).

Issues with coding a second key
Presumably you were able to drive it betweem January and July - in which case your local main dealer has caused the problem?

Octavia Mk3 Cruise Control
If you have Front Assist then you have ACC, disabling Front Assist does NOT disable the "Adaptive" part of Cruise Control - so it will continue to adapt its speed according to how close other cars are in front. That's how ACC works. Have you tried reducing the distance setting for ACC using the slider control on the top of the cruise stalk?

Newbie Oil Question
On the Octavia 3 that's the case, but some other models had the 1.4TSI ACT engine.

Engine bay foam ends
Both of my Octavia's (1.4TSI and 1.8TSI) have had the full battery cover, sides & top.

How can I tell if the headlights are on?
No, the instruments don't have the software in them to display a green dipped beam symbol - in their 'wisdom' many car manufacturers have removed it!

Columbus replacement?
Best person to answer that is @pab567

Columbus replacement?
As I said Canton is separate amplifier, which can be added to Amundsen, Columbus, etc. Is there any wording such as Canton on the speaker grille on the front doors? If not then the glovebox unit is the problem, if there is Canton written on the front speaker grille then the problem is the separate amplifier.
-
Columbus replacement?
Do you have Canton? That is a separate amplifier, so if you have Canton the problem will be the amplifier not the glovebox unit.

Upgrading/swapping radio to support bluetooth?
Every Google search I do says that the 5E0035812A DOES have Bluetooth???

Wales new reduced to 20 mph speed limit in built up areas starts on Sunday 17th September 2023.
But set against that it is claimed that the risk of being struck by a car travelling at 20mph is higher as drivers spend more time looking at their speedo instead of the road.

Laura's voice getting deeper overnight
Count me confused? 87.1MHz is an FM frequency, not a MW frequency (531-1602kHz).

Front Assist frightening experience - anyone else?
Then you need to buy an older car, the Golf 8 (and related cars like the Octavia 4) have been released with many software faults and VAG are being very slow fixing them (and in some cases even accepting that they exist).

The stroke of the brake pedal has shortened after coding + ABS parameterization
Is the parameterisation and coding correct for the new software? Sometimes that changes between software versions.

DRL don’t work. Switch position auto. MK3 R/S facelift
Could also be that a previous owner has changed the BCM settings.

Spce Saver wheel + toolkit
You're obviously several years out of date with the variable displacement compressors that are fitted to cars. The fuel usage can start from almost zero and never reaches the mpg levels of older electromagnetic clutch systems in the UK climate.

Update Maxidot graphic
- Amundsen MIB2 Firmware Update
A software update won't enable CarPlay and Android Auto - they require an FEC (Feature Enabling Code) to enable them that is VIN specific, or there are companies that can enable them using a tool such as MIB Toolkit.- wait times/lead times
There is a huge long thread on delivery times in this forum - main reasons quoted are: - shortage of semiconductors due to surge in demand post Covid - loss of factory in Ukraine used to manufacture wiring looms - more orders than expected for hybrid versions- the truth about electric cars
But how many well designed EV's are there? Given many families desire for SUV style EV's there's currently little incentive on the manufacturers to save weight. Surely the concerns about the ability of multi-storey car parks to cope with a mostly EV population are not just scare mongering?- the truth about electric cars
That relies on the garage correctly recording the mileage - I say this because on checking the MOTs of my deceased uncle's Toyota the garage (he always used the same one) recorded the mileage on 3 consecutive years as (approx values) .... 27,000; 101,000; 27,500 Given that he never drove outside of his own town then doing 74,000 miles in one year (207 miles every day) was clearly implausible so they should have noticed their error and corrected it.- Software Updates Mk4
That's true of the software version of the infotainment system, but to see the software version of the other electronic modules in the car (of which there are many, sometimes 30+) you need to use a diagnostic scan tool such as VCDS or OBD11.- the truth about electric cars
Perhaps VED should be based on vehicle weight, then EVs will tend to pay more due to the weight of the batteries. - Amundsen MIB2 Firmware Update
