  1. Replacing the ECU is expensive (very!) and isn't something that should be done unless and until the wiring and connectors have been 100% physically and electrically checked. It's not unheard of for an ECU to be swapped and the problem remain, simply because the wiring check has not been thorough enough.
  2. The recall is for a safety problem when the cover is fitted, since your car was built without the cover the recall doesn't apply and hence is not shown against your car.
  3. Check against a wiring diagram where the voltage supply to the throttle pedal comes from - and then trace the wiring back to the source.
  4. Strange, I've downloaded maps for the whole of England???
  5. Are you aware that Google Maps (and now Apple Maps) have an offline maps option? If you download maps onto your phone whilst on your home WiFi then you don't need a mobile phone signal to use Google Maps or Apple Maps - the only thing you lose is live traffic updates when there is no mobile signal.
  6. We're drifting off-topic in this thread which is supposed to be about Infotainment MODEL NUMBERS not firmware issues?
  7. And that will also apply to most new EV buyers who expect to just "get in and drive', so the complaints over range not meeting expectations/quotes will continue and probably even get louder.
  8. I've had AC in all my cars/vehicles since 1999 and it's been on all the time in all of them - I value the dehumidifying in winter and the comfort in summer.
  9. If it's an Amundsen (needs an SD card for navigation to work) then as it's a 2019 it will be a MIB2 Amundsen (change from MIB1 happened in mid 2015). Does the location shown on the sat nav when you drive? Is an SD card (a genuine Skoda one) plugged in?
  10. We use English here, please post only in English.
  11. I seriously doubt whether that will be enough to get Skoda UK or the dealer to agree that they should fund the repair, they will be looking for "proof" not "balance of probabilities" I believe.
  12. Why would you change the water pump when doing a cambelt change on a 1.4TSI? AFAIK from having owned an Octavia with a 1.4TSI CHPA engine the water pump is on the opposite end of the engine on the EA211, and is not known to be a problem...
  13. Why I asked about the release bearing...
  14. Neither my 2015 nor 2016 Octavias have had the SoC function working.
  15. Wrong, the Battery Management System aims to charge the battery to no more than 80%, as I explained in my previous post
  16. Has the clutch release bearing been changed?
  17. On my previous 1.4TSI I used to monitor the battery voltage on occasions and it would be 14.x volts after starting but when driving would drop as low as 12.x volts as the battery management tried to keep the battery state of charge no more than 80% to allow headroom for some micro regnerative braking (when the voltage again increased to 14.x volts).
  18. Th Canton amp has a digital input so there are no analog inputs to connect to. The sub output from the Canton amp will be affected by the Canton EQ controls.
  19. If BMW are as 'careless' with the 155mph limiter as Audi then the M5 will do more than 155mph - the Audi B7 RS4 had a 155mph limiter (unless you paid ££££ for the limiter removal factory option) but several owners checked it with GPS on unlimited German autobahns and the limiter didn't happen until nearly 170mph.
  20. The Octavia 4 has completely different hardware and software to the 2019 Leon (and to my Octavia 3 which also shows numbers in D mode), so anything that applies to older models is interesting but irrelevant here. I think it's same to assume that 'in their wisdom' Skoda have changed the default functionality, whether there's a coding or adaptation tweak is a good question...
  21. @PurpletomSlight side note, your signature says: But here we're discussing a 2017 Octavia vRS that you've owned since April 2023. Might be an idea to update your signature?
  22. Does your Octavia have Canton? That uses a digital output and I *think* that means the analog outputs are disabled.
  23. Neither my 2015 1.4TSI nor my 2016 1.8TSI had the under bonnet pad, so I bought and fitted them. The 2015 1.4TSI didn't have an engine cover either so I got a VW badged one and a Skoda bonnet badge and fitted them too.
