Coolant leak on 2024 Superb.
Yeah that’s nuts but there is a chance that something misses QC. As long as you get it sorted at no cost that’s the main thing 👍🏼

Trav's 2021 Superb 280 L&K
Once you've got the DSG sorted, I'd focus on other aspects - handling, braking, tweaks to the inside. I'm getting HEL braided hoses put in and now replacing the discs and pads. The Mtec/ATE ones were ok but I've found a place that is doing some relatively cheap SHW Performance Clubsport replica floating discs so swapping those over too. That will make me happier. Then I've got to keep my eye on springs and shocks for the future. I did try to get a RoadRage Performance Haldex Flash but it doesn't work on mine as my controller is a revised unit apparently. Would put it to 100% 50:50 torque split front to rear so pity they don't have one for mine yet.

Trav's 2021 Superb 280 L&K
I'd def agree with getting the basics sorted @spen686. Intercooler is a nice to have but tuning definitely follows the law of diminishing returns. A remap will do wonders for you - increase boost, advance timing, up the fuel pressure perhaps - all of those things to give you a good 60/70bhp upwards for c.£1k Next stage for me using RL needs the R600 intake with intake hose and turbo inlet and intercooler. R600 + intake is about £600 and I can do that myself. Intercoolers seem to range from £800 and it looks like an absolute pig of a job to do. Half the front of the car has to come off, and the radiators are all together in a bunch. I wouldn't have the skill, confidence or tools to do it so that's why its booked in. So I'm looking at same again cost for labour I think. I also bought Wagner Tuning's boost hose pack because it seems like 2 steps forward, 1 step back to uprate the intercooler but all the hoses from turbo to intercooler, and intercooler to throttle body are standard. Straightforward to do with so much access to the intercooler area The next stage needs uprated exhaust - now this either losing the gpf altogether, or a sports gpf. The latter is a captured market. The only one I can find is north of £2.5k from HJS. That's EC compliant so it meets emissions regs. Like this for example. Only one I can find for the Gen4 engine. Otherwise its removing the GPF and, while it might still pass emissions, its technically illegal so you invalidate your insurance. At which point, I can't go any further unless a lottery win renders £3k of downpipe replacement acceptable.

Valve exhaust retrofit
They also removed the middle resonator from around 2019. I don’t know whether it was the facelift when moving to the gen4 DNFE engine or still on the late gen3 DNUA (which I think you have @SaabDude ). The GPF does all the work of reducing any meaningful sound. So if yours has it (which I think it does) then you can either pay for a compliant sports GPF (only one I have seen is a £2,800 HJS item) or delete the GPF which is illegal. You might pass emissions but it invalidates your insurance.

1.4 TSI (150bhp) Modifications / Improvements
If you do end up going for this I have one surplus to requirements which you can def have for cheaper than that. Never used (bought the wrong one). Definitely look underneath and check your mount though. The reason I bought the wrong one was because I assumed badly.

Superb 280 brake upgrades
That's a point about discs I didn't address previously. I've got Mtec drilled and grooved discs. I've read the grooves are to funnel heat away and/or cleaning/deglazing the pad face. I've also read the vents and cross-drilled holes are more effective at that anyway They create a whirring sound on longer heavier braking occurences which is what it is and down to taste - yo either like it or put up with it. What I remember seeing on any 'performance road' car vehicle with not-plain discs tends to be drilled or dimpled rather than grooved. Golf R Clubsport, AMG Mercs, Audi RSs - some of the more racebred stuff probably has grooves but at the end of the day I'd say for anything that's more "sport-normal" I don't think you're getting what you pay for.

Superb 280 brake upgrades
It is a valid question raised though. Given the remap improving acceleration and top speed, how are you going to drive the car differently that will affect braking? If you will be braking from higher speeds or more often or loaded up with more weight, then updating the brakes is a valid requirement. But if not, then there’s no particular need to update them However, if you just want to then that’s a good enough reason, it’s your car. I got updated brakes partially for that reason but I’d be lying if there wasn’t a sense of vanity in there. You just have to factor the cost in. EBC have a longstanding reputation - however they’re the only one I’ve seen with a pad break up. However, it’s anecdotal. Ferodo, Mintex, Pagid all have fast road pad options and all decent reputations.

Brake pedal noise in traffic - related to the handbrake being applied
Yes fair point - autohold. Stopping at a junction/in traffic

Brake pedal noise in traffic - related to the handbrake being applied
There's been a few examples of this; I also had it on a previous non-VAG car. No actual effect - I don't even notice it these days. Ie nothing to be concerned about and seemingly nothing from VAG regarding Technical Bulletins or recalls.

Intermittent Overboost Code (P0234) on Remapped Octavia vRS Tdi
Did Darkside do all the work as well as supply the downpipe? Worth discussing with them given their reputation for diesel tuning? Would def agree that charge-cooling will never be a bad idea - but not sure on whether the temps quoted are within tolerances etc. They seem fairly stratospheric - but plenty more experienced than me will confirm or (more likely) correct me!

Motor swap to RS3 to Superb!
You can also hear the same sound dna as 10-cylinders. When he blasts it under the bridge it sounds very similar to a V10 😍

Glad they saw sense but that’s a hell of a backpedal. Of course, nothing to say they can’t collect the data anyway just without presenting it to the customer. Whilst I would prefer to seem so tin-harry, and it would be great to think there’s sufficient regulation to stop it, there’s been sufficient corporate scandals to prove regulations aren’t always effective.

Hello and a question
Wait first post showed 23.11. I had 24.6. But you have 25.1 now? That def looks more recent. Cheers for spotting that @MartiniB

Hello and a question
Nice. For that; just leave it plugged in and it will take a while to update as it keeps stopping and starting when you have the car on and off. At some point you’ll just notice the maps date has updated and all is good.

The JB4 thread
I think it just reads the spec that is there rather than be conscious of it being significantly different to EU timeline. In my experience far too many tuner databases don’t seem aware of the engine changes with the facelift. Just options to select either 280 or 272 and the 280 is clearly or explicitly the gen3. I have had to buy stuff on the basis of selecting a Golf mk8 R because Škoda Superb mk3 280 or even my number plate still doesn’t bring up the right options. Pity as all the Gen4 engines are the same physically with different ECUs so remaps apply the same and they all come out with c.400bhp. +70 for the 330bhp variants, but 120bhp for the DNFE in Superb and some Arteons.

**NOW GONE** - 4 x Team Dynamics ProRace 1.3 8.5J ET52 with Pilot Supersport tyres 245/35/18
Glad it was finally sorted! Same as you I couldn’t believe there was no interest but it’s great that they have actually been collected and glad they didn’t go to the dump!

Hello and a question
It’s fine! Seriously, I didn’t notice any differences. Basically as long as you don’t have 276 you’ll be fine. That was utter garbage.
-
The JB4 thread
Didn’t see if you confirmed your engine/gearbox. 2022 car should be gen4 and DQ381 7speed? How come you have the DQ250 6speed?

Hello and a question
Ignore me - was thinking of something else. Seems I need to login if it’s just the link to the site. I needed to put the files in a folder and link to that! TRY THIS!

Hello and a question
It is included according to the Škoda connect shop online. Not sure on the length of time it takes to download and the speed etc. like I say, the latest one on the Skoda upload portal is about 30Gb and when you’ve downloaded it onto a USB stick, you basically leave it in the drive and updates as the car is on (it has multiple milestones and picks up where it left off).

Guest and guest. It should say that in a pop up when you first visit but not sure

Hello and a question
Yes relies on the subscription, and would have thought this would have updated by now if there was one. Although not sure if they are car specific or if the previous owner would have cancelled theirs etc

Help needed please MHI2_ER_SKG13_P4526 file needed.
Just as an update to this - mibsolution appears back up and running. MIB3 only has v332 now though so they may have had a bit of a cleanup of older files in case anything can't be found...
