I'm not familiar with Fabia locks but the diagram below (2008 Fabia 2) may help you in your search . There's a direct link to the parts catalogue page HERE if preferred.

Also, a quick way to check is look at the oil filler cap inside. If water is getting into the oil system you will see a buildup of emulsion around the inside of the filler cap - looks a bit like soap.

This stinks of a bad shared connection - most likely an earthing point.

Try Dubhaus at Withnell Fold. They were until recently a major breaker and parts supplier so may be able to tell you what would - and would not - work. Dubhaus have moved to mechanicing of late but they do know their VAG stuff.

From Motor Authority newswire: Porsche is recalling 2,941 electric Macan crossovers because their headlights are too bright, which can reduce visibility for oncoming drivers and increase the risk of a crash. The recall includes 2024 and 2025 models manufactured between Mar. 15, 2024, Nov. 4, 2024. Headlight-control software in this batch of vehicles was programmed to European standards rather than U.S. standards, resulting in beams that exceed brightness levels specified in Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, according to the NHTSA. I see 7zap have reopened their catalogue site and have now included diagrams up to 2021 models. Downside is the free access site (skoda.7zap.uk) has part numbers blanked out, although the improved diagrams are - I feel - a good place to start hunting with part numbers being available by other means.

After spending nearly an hour searching through the parts catalogues all I could come up with was what I posted. I know that @J.R. did some work around false flooring in his Octavias and Yeti so he may be able to help.

According to the parts catalogue the Octavia mk2 pre- and post-facelift rear door / luggage compartment cover (called a 'lid' in the catalogue) is the same. Note that this is the bare door; I haven't cross-checked the fittings but they're available via the same links. I'm not sure how much CANBUS is involved with Octy 1 lighting but it would help if you could get a scan of errors to see if the brake light problem is down to a CANBUS error.

Everything @Redboy suggests but also check the gear change has not seized up. That happened to our '07 1.9tdi Octy 2 after it had been laid up for a year after a cosmetic to the front wing. It took a degree of fettling (read lots of lube plus many hours exercising the gearchange) to free up properly. That said, it's been fine since after a little initial notchiness.

My first thought would be worn piston rings. Have you noticed the exhaust smoking more than usual?

According to the parts catalogue page for an '06 Octy mk2 HERE the standard combi/estate and saloon bumpers are not the same - different part numbers. What is not clear is how they differ, unfortunately. Note that there are also different bumpers for the RS & Scout variants. I have spare bumpers from an '07 combi which I can examine anon if that helps.
