New Owner - Auto stop/start and Sound actuator help needed
Hello Tommy No, they're not usually 'known' to be faulty, although that's not to say they don't go wrong. It's not uncommon for people to simply unplug them, or have them turned down with diagnostic equipment, such as VCDS. When I had a 2015 vRS, I had mine turned down to 30%, which suited me nicely and stopped an annoying resonance inside the dash. Gaz

Super iV 2022 - How to remove the instant consumtion from the display?
It catches a few people out, but the area you posted in is for Forum Support, as @skomaz has kindly pointed out, and is not for specific questions about cars - it says so at the top of the section: My comment about it being flagged for moderation was to save there being duplicate posts, to let other people know I'd flagged it (so they don't have to - thus fewer reports for the Mod team to deal with), to save you re-posting it elsewhere, and to try to avoid there being more than one thread about the same question, as helpful people on here might reply, only to realise there's another thread elsewhere. There's significantly less footfall in the Forum How To area than there is in the Superb IV area, so your question would be better moved. The Superb IV area is here: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/forum/424-skoda-superb-mk-iv-2023/ Gaz

Super iV 2022 - How to remove the instant consumtion from the display?
Flagged for moderation - it'll probably get seen more in the Superb IV arena. The Forum How To section is not for car related questions. Gaz

Is payment 24hrs in advance of collection the norm?
I'd say so. I've not been asked to pay in advance before, and would not. But I was able to pay by card and the money was transferred immediately. That was on a new vRS - I'd actually gone to look at a Blackline, but there was a stone chip in the bonnet which was a deal breaker. With your car I'd want to see the scratches gone completely, to my (very fussy) satisfaction before they saw any more of my readies. Gaz

Doug's 2018 Sportline 272 hatch
Beat it to death with a sledgehammer 🤬 Chop it up with an axe, shred the remaining plastic into bits, melt it and then pour the molten plastic into the Skoda CEO's office door lock 👍

Getting the bonnet open on a 2012 VW Caddy
Thanks Nigel - yes I had, and I also own a 7.5 GTI. They're certainly similar. We eventually got in by jacking it up and dropping the OSF wheel arch liner to gain access. It wasn't as onerous as I thought. And the injector came out beautifully 😁 Gaz

Getting the bonnet open on a 2012 VW Caddy
I'm trying to work on a neighbours Caddy, but it looks like the bonnet release cable has disconnected at the slam panel/lock carrier connection, which I see is a fairly common 'feature'. I've been watching videos on YT and the only one that makes a bit of sense is the small aperture immediately behind the VW logo in the centre of the grill. I can see what looks like the bonnet mounted retaining bar/loop, but there doesn't look to be enough room to get anything past it to release any latch: I'd be grateful for any bright ideas or suggestions as to the simplest way to release the latch. Fair play to VW for not making it easy, but we've got an injector to change, so need the bonnet up. Ta Gaz

What’s this button?
Do you know the history of the car? Is it ex Police/Ambulance/Miltary/Motability? Does it have any additional lights, equipment or a non standard fuelling system?

Water Ingress to Rear Light
The trouble with silicone grease is that it does attract dirt and crud. Having had two Del Sol's, where silicone grease is your friend when it comes to keeping the roof seals in good order, it's lovely when you first put it on, but the next time you touch it it'll be all gritty and 'orrible. It's a labour of love. A thin line of mould resistant clear sealant would be my weapon of choice. Gaz

Water Ingress to Rear Light
Run a thin bead of silicon sealant between the coloured lens and white plastic maybe? Don't blame you at all for bottling it Time and place and all that jazz. Helped my Son change his rear trailing arm and blown shock (MOT failures) on the Sunday before I went to Bruges the next day. I pointed out to him before we started that if anything went wrong he was stuffed. A couple of simple errors were good for the adrenaline 🙄

Water Ingress to Rear Light
Don't know, but I'd have thought the blue ones hold the coloured lens unit on. Those three oblongs on the same edge as the location pins look like they might be recesses on the other side, for the coloured lens to slot into.

Water Ingress to Rear Light
I've a vague recollection of this coming up before and it was the seal around the cluster, where once off the car, there was an obvious water run mark where it had gotten through and into the cluster. Drop it off, dry it out, new seal/sealant IMO 👍 Gaz

Water Ingress to Rear Light
Is it only the nearside cluster that's affected? Any signs of condensation or damp in the boot/wheel well? Rear washer working okay? Gaz
