  1. You have the problem, because it is a 'feature' and you will need to unlock the security code (usually 20103) to unlock the settings to allow you to activate Hill-Hold. Vous avez le problème, car il s'agit d'une «fonctionnalité» et vous devrez déverrouiller le code de sécurité (généralement 20103) pour déverrouiller les paramètres afin de vous permettre d'activer Hill-Hold.
  2. Okay - some references to assist; you can easily do this at home with somebody who has a VCDS system: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Battery_Replacement This shows the technical changes that need to be done on VCDS. This shows how to do the change over on a Video. Enjoy
  3. KESSY is fine; my mother in law has it...the keyfob is rather heavy on batteries though; fresh CR2032's every 6 months on all keyfobs and you are good to go.
  4. Yes, mine is going to be going into West End Skoda in Edinburgh to have its squeak and rattle. A lot of the TDI engines do sound a little like this, but I am sure that the Cam Belt Tensioner is to blame here.
  5. **Edited 28/09/20 - helps if I quote the correct numberplate** Car last know location was in West Yorkshire Folks, If anybody on here owns my old Scout - SM16 HWE, please give me a shout. I have a whole load of paperwork from when the car was new (and the extras I put onto the car) and was not allowed to transfer it onto the new owner (GDPR rules). :-( Otherwise paperwork goes in the bin - sorry. Thanks Max
  6. oh dear.... Was the previous owner a Briskoda VCDS tinkerer??? :-) The headlight washers can be altered, so they don't wash every 3rd go. I've got mine set to every 10th go, otherwise it uses all of the washer tanker in a week. I live in the scottish borders where roads are confused for dirt tracks.
  7. This does all sounds like a Turbo leak to me. There was a guy with a Fabia who had similar issues and found that a gasket was not sealing properly which fixed his problem. I'll see if I can find the thread.
  8. See photos... If I remember right, I found a posting from 2015 about that fix for my 2019 car. If you have a 2015 car, then you will need pre-FL all round.
  9. ooohh - that metallic 'clank' does not sound good. Definately time for visit to dealer on that one. I'm sad to report I don't have that noise and haven't heard that one before. Hazarding a guess; a ball-joint that is not in the best of health.
  10. Arh, well - the other potential is the top of the macpherson struct. It can squeak and carry on, so if you can get into the struct top; use some Lithium grease, that maybe the other location of the problem.
  11. One thing I will mention with Ad-Blue; its REALLY messy stuff. DO NOT GET IT ON THE PAINTWORK. Yes, my Scout has a 10 litre tank; gives me between 5-6k miles.
  12. sorry to come in on this (as I'm a Octavia owner), but my Scout is making the exact same noise. I've put in for warranty work - I ~think~ it is a failed belt tensioner. You will find the problem goes away when its wet outside and you can still hear it when the car is standing still and idling. It comes and it goes....right??? Thought it was suspension noise, but not the case when the car is not moving.
  13. I've got a DQ381 box on my Scout. Generally, with diesels and this DSG box, it will start the car in 2nd gear. If you do foot flat to the floor in starting, the car will utilise 1st gear. I agree that it does feel annoying but the box is designed to do that. The only issue I ever had was that they mis-filled the gearbox oil from the factory on my Scout. It had the correct oil but not enough of it in box. That caused high reving when cold and poor transfer of power through the gearbox. The only other solution is bespoke firmware on the gearbox.
  14. Dear all, Had a bit of bad news re: retrofitting a camera to my Scout. Had a call from Chris (who is the guy who is retrofitting Cameras to a number of Skodas down in Leeds) to say that Skoda have pulled ALL of the part numbers for retrofitting reversing cameras to 2019/20 MY19/MY20 Octavia and Superb cars. It seems that there have been issues with coding up the cameras to the cars. Whether this is a batch problem or not, I don't know. The general consensus is that Skoda may or may not re-introduce the official retrofitting kits....or they may not. Which leaves me in an odd place....I would really love to retrofit a camera (we call it Reversing Telly in our household 😁) to my Scout, so I would really like some options. I know there are third party kits out there (I might speak with @SashaGrace to see whether she can advise. I have an MY19 Octavia 3 FL Scout. Many thanks Max
  15. If it is a pre-FL variant Superb, It may or may not have the revised engine. See the Skoda press-release. All really depends when your 'new' car was built in 2019. https://www.skoda-storyboard.com/en/press-kits/skoda-superb-press-kit/engines-premiere-of-the-first-evo-generation-diesel-engine/ You wlll probably have a DQ381 7 speed DSG gearbox and a Columbus MIB2.5 system.
  16. You have to watch the development of what VW group do. The washer filler cap is a newish design; it was offered as an accessory to all Skodas from 2013 onwards, and as part of Skodas improvement list (of trying to up their minimal options for each new range of cars), they made the cap standard spec (it only costs an extra couple of pennies for them at manufacturer). Ice Scapper....its a small piece of translucent plastic costing pennies....its a standard item and all cars would have been issued with them as standard.
  17. This might help: https://obd2pros.com/dtc-codes/p2000/
  18. That washer cap filler comes as an additional part on Skoda's; but is generally standard on all 2018/19 MK7 Golfs onwards. It can be retrofitted. Icescrappers are standard (even on S spec).
  19. Okay - couple of things here: 1) This I am assuming will be a 2.0 TDI SE 150 or 184 Executive?? The water pump / timing belt are generally done as one thing. You could ask your dealer for details on why the work was done, but it would be a tensioner or genuinely a failed belt (it does happen). From what you have told us so far, nothing worries me here. 2) The bumper sticker - is not a 'sticker', it is a rear boot scuff protector. They are held on by sticky tabs (the same type as used to adhesive for your numberplate), so they will come off quite easily. It looks like this: http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/SUPERB-III/Superb-III-Combi-massive-stainless-steel-rear-bumper-protective-panel-original-Skoda-Autoas quite an expensive option at 69 Euros. I think it sounds like a good car...as long as it has a decent SKODA warranty and has a full Skoda Service History, all is good.
  20. Plus one to the belt-tensoner problem. Mine is booked in on the 2nd October to be looked at.
  21. Hello there; I am a Scout Owner - and I have done quite a lot of mods - including retrofitting mud-flaps onto the car....they are not 100%, but they work well. You have to use Pre-FL front mudflaps and FL Rear Mudflaps (fun egh) on the car. The pre-FL mudflaps is all-around the plastic 'Scout' outer trim - which has not changed between the pre-FL and the FL units. BTW - definately go for a 184 TDI - makes all the difference. Can you upgrade your profile information and let us know the spec of your car please? That would help us all to assist. Is your car a DSG or manual (I think they stopped producing manual Scouts in 2016)? Any questions or photos, just let us know. Thanks Max
  22. So - I think there is a way via VCDS: Some folks have already done the hack: https://forums.ross-tech.com/showthread.php?6059-sport-mode-permanent
  23. You need a Skoda CarStick (works with Amunsden systems) - this gives you online services....otherwise, set up a mobile hotspot and connect via your mobile phone. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Skoda-LTE-CarStick-000051409F/dp/B07BQHF3KN
