  1. Forgot to say the number plate fixings are a standard size so any motr factor will stock them, or even the likes of ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6-BLACK-NUMBER-PLATE-PLASTIC-NYLON-BOLTS-NUTS-FIXINGS-BIKE-CAR-SCREWS/292047404786?hash=item43ff61bef2:g:jEsAAOSwHMJYNK0Q&pageci=2c44fc51-01da-418f-b2b9-92a17cea4ff7&redirect=mobile
  2. On our Kodiaq the number plate fixing holes are blind rivnuts... so i'd expect yours to be the same.
  3. Having spent 14 years managing a team of them you might struggle there... many are obsessve over PT and cycling to the expense of other modes and unfortunately for drivers both are 'flavour of the moment' with lare amounts of funding available for schemes
  4. No times on the signs mean it's a 24/7 bus lane. Cambridge has bus priority measures and these have been 'pushed' via such lanes. Personally, even though I've been involved in bus priority measures and scheme design I hate them and think many are ridiculous for the reasons mentioned. In Sheffield the local authority are pressing for 24/7 ones on two core routes into the city that have a poor frequency thinking it will increase reliability and patronage but it won't and will instead kill shops fronting the routes. They would be far better leaving the peak hour lanes as is but enforcing them... But they seem blind to this option and focussed on full time lanes
  5. Personally i think you will get absolutely nlwhere with your complaint as im sure both will simply say the screen is within the relevent manufacturing tolerances and will refuse to replace it or, at best, will get someone to remve the pillar trim and bend the ticket holder a bit after a lot of arguing. To me the argy bargy and stress simply wouldn't be worthwhile for what it is. Also for info I had the same clip on both our Fabia and Octavia and one was tighter against the screen than the other. I cant recall whether my kodiaq has one so not sure how good that id if fitted...
  6. And we have leakage again today... Not sure why but will check the bellows again. The only thing then left to seal is the tailgate rubber stoppers on the sides. After that it's reseal the glass or replace the bigger rubber seal round the tailgate opening as they are cheap enough. For info where is the 'join' in the seal on other people's cars? Mine is near the top right and given the moulding fash on it I wonder if it should be at the bottom by the lock
  7. Personally I hate black wheels as they just look like old steelies missing trims or as if you've never cleaned the car. The gunmetal therefore look better to me.
  8. Don't take this the wrong way but I'm amazed, having had the new screen fitted twice already you're contemplating having it done a third time for the sake of a ticket holder. If the screen is good then I'd spend a quid in a stick on ticket holder from eBay. I've used them for years in various cars and they work equally well if not better. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185193929387?hash=item2b1e6b1aab:g:3GYAAOSwgwhfGGjB
  9. I have a Swift... only a 1.0 boosterjet hybrid SZ5 as the Sport wasn't available when i bought bt i love it... lightweight, revvy, pulls great and handles really sprightly. The sport is more powerful and has a bit more torque (the hybrid adds 50lbft to the engine) and different seats but the tech and general feel is similar.
  10. A smear of silicon grease on the 'seal' around the filler flap and 'lock' should stop it freezing up
  11. i think its safe to say that Halfords are trying to take the OP for a ride. Get a new cap and get an MOT done elsewhere. If needed then get a decent garage to check and, if necessary change the bake fluid.

That's an interesting comment as, having experienced two recent Civics and two Jazz's within the family I actually find their dash controls far more complicated than Skodas.
  13. You really need a three leg puller for that... Get it on, put a bit of tension on it then tap it lightly with a hammer. The alternative would be to get a Dremel cutting disc on it. Usually waggling the arm in and out loosens them but that looks well stuck on
  14. As above... behind the wheelarch liner. The motor is bidirectinal with a flow valve and two outlets. It spins one way for the front washers and the other way for the rear.
  15. my guess with this is one of the level sensors on the axles has died and the lights have gone into a safe mode. Have a look at them under the car and seof they are siezed or the connecting rods between axle and sensor are broken.
  16. No... my 1.4tsi CZEA EA211 engine has ACT... hence the wariness
  17. Forgot to ask... whats your engine code and is it the active cylinder tech version? Im wary that might be an issue.
  18. Useful info above re unmarked cars as I'm off to visit family in NI shortly. Round here there's a few Kodiaqs marked and unmarked so my florescent yellow walking gear usually causes a few double takes...
  19. interesting review and woukd be good to hear how things pan out... i have a 1.4tsi 150 manual Kodiaq and have been mulling over whether it might benefit from a map...
  20. Indeed he has - can you imagine the same being said of Verstappen? The teddies would have been well and truly out of the pram!
  21. Apologies... your right... for some reason i had it in mind this thread was about H7s... doh! I'll get my coat and go and find the correct one
  22. The alternative if in Spain might be to wait and see if the Osram Nightbreakers LED kits get approval from the EU for use in the superb. They already have type approval for a number of vehicles including the Octavia 3 and more are being added all the time
  23. Ok - I may be jinxing this but... the boot has been dry the last few days!! Touch wood we may have a result courtesy of @silver1011
  24. If they are inside the removable tray then you won't be able to get them out. I think it's new tray time or split it apart to get at them which might not be easy as it looks pretty solidly glued together...
