What did you do to your Skoda today?

Featured Replies

Washed. De tarred, bit of t-cut, polish, wax, windows polished inside and out, tyre shine and some back to black :) arm was dead by the end of the ordeal, going to have to buy some better tar remover. Tar shows up terribly on a red car :( atleast the black soot wipes off easier now

Touched-in a paint chip on the drivers door and replaced the battery in the keyfob.

Fitted elephant mod and swapped vacuum box.

Just got back from a 460 mile round trip, 52MPG there and 58.9MPG on the return, suppose that ‘will do’ in a 170CR :giggle:

What speed were you getting the higher mpg at pal just curios .?

65 most of the way, going up to 70 in places (apart from the roadworks where there was a 50MPH limit, so sat at 50)

This is also on 16” winter tyres.

Impressive pal.....

Wrapped grill and fog surround, not a bad 1st attempt, jusst need my new badge from the pastyboy group buy now :sun:

Changed door handles to silver and fixed broken ABS/ASR wiring again.

Just finished work so as I walked past I thought I would treat the old girl to a wipe of the overall sleeve across the rear lights and number plate. Then perhaps being a bit too generous but hey I like the car,I then did the same to the headlights and spotlights.

Nice job, how much of a pain was the grille wrapping? Where did you get the vinyl?

Cheers

Cheers.

Wrap was £19.99 from eBay - very good for the price.

It wasn't as bad as I thought to be honest. Used a hair dryer to stretch the material around corners. Take a look on You Tube; there are plenty of tutorials.

A friend and member paid a local company £60 to wrap his grill! thought I'd go at it myself at that price and it paid off!

Was thinking of Plastidip on my grille but like the carbon look. I'll take a look on YouTube, thanks

Got it washed with the intention of giving it a wax and cleaning the interior. Got the interior done whilst it hailed on me and decided waxing the car in the hail wasn't a good idea.

Warrant of Fitness passed.

Just an advisory that the rear brakes will need doing soonish.

Not bad as they're the original factory pads.

I went for a drive today. The roads were shocking with salt etc. asr flashing at 55 - 60 in 3rd :/

Upgraded to Columbus, happy days!

Took four landrover discovery tyres out of the back of the Octy. How to get a good idea of a suspension drop without spending any money !

I put the standard wheels and brake pads back on after my track day, the Yellow Stuff pads have really eaten into the discs.

Near doubled the cars mileage over a long weekend break in the Yorkshire Dales (Aysgarth Falls Hotel lovely place even in February). Very pleased with comfort of the car on its first real trip. Felt like I had driven to Tescos; big contrast with my last two cars. Computer says we did over 55mpg with mostly 4 up plus luggage but wont believe anything like that till I do some brim to brim calcs.

Came home last night car covered in salt and a layer of various rural type substances on the outside and a considerable amount of Yorkshire geology on the insideSo spent today washing, waxing and vacuuming her back to perfection.

Fixed.

Got a pair of new front tires fitted, gave it a quick wash and tried to de-wax the windscreen (it smears CONSTANTLY because of cheap wash'n'wax shampoo used prevoiously :giggle: ).

Also picked up my Corrida red sprays, BMW black, plastic primer and sandpaper. That's my next week or 2 sorted.

Touched up some stone chips on the sills.
