You cannot be serious!!!voice>
Nah i doubt it, maybe equal up to about 100mph then the octy will forge ahead
What he said ;)

I think that's the general concensus. If you starting from standstill, I'd say the octy will easily keep up, maybe be ahead. If starting from say 30mph, I think a remapped furby will pull ahead due to the super torque.

Abouve 100mph, the high-powered (lower torque)octy combined with the sleeker aerodynamics will pull ahead.

HTH :D

Sorry...... Didn't Quite ask the right Question. I am thinking of changing my Furbie vRS for an Octavia vRS because I need more boot space. I no the octy's top speed is greater.... 0-100 the furbie would win Yes? I think I may be disppointed with the octy because the furbie has more tourqe and more low speed power

Remember you can also do stuff to the Octy to make it faster. The main issue with it compared to the Furby is how much fuel it uses when driven like that though ;)

It may be worth trying out a PD Diesel version and getting that chipped instead :D

Depends whether you want the real vRS, or an 'imitation vRS old codger taxi-mobile' :D:D

The Octy vRS'sssss have plenty of mid range punch, all through the rev range. Try one and make your own mind up

if you remap an octy vRS it should give you a similar feeling to that of a furby vRS.

oh and it will be a hell of a lot faster!

Didn't realize that the fabia (REAL imitation) Vrs was an old codger taxidermy-mobile....mind you it's shape does look like it's been stuffed, usually by the FIRST and The REAL Octavia vRS. :nutkick: :peepwall:

STUFFED?????............Fnarr fnarr yip yip (for the benefit of people who never read Viz that was my impression of Finbar Saunders)

Depends whether you want the real vRS, or an 'imitation oil-burning shopping trolley Noddy car.

I tried one today and it didn't feel right, Quite, Didn't have the deisel sound.....OH!!!! I'll miss the little "puff" of smoke I didn't intend to turn this into a slanging match between the furbie/octy crew :)

:feedtrol: :jedi:

 PMSL!

octavia vrs a taxi????would be the first one i've rung that has turned up on bloody time.

fabia vrs"driver under instruction usually plastered all over the boot":rofl:

The Octi vRS is an absolute monster. I was given a ride in one and it pulls like a mofo! And its so damn light it wheel spinned at 80kmph, absolutely crazy stuff.

180bhp vs 130bhp?

Absolutely no way. Yes the Fabia vRS may have lots of torque, but at the end of it all its the horsies that determine it all. And no way in hell can the Fabia vRS be faster than the Octi...the Octi is pretty damned fast, even in stock. I mean, we're talking about a 180bhp turbo PETROL car here, not a turbo diesel.

Be realistic about it, yes we all want to imagine the fabia vRS being the more powerful & faster one, but unfortunately, torque doesn't play much of a role in this particular topic. I mean, pick-up trucks can have lots and lots of torque, more torque than the Fabia, but no way in hell are they fast (unless we're talkin American trucks).

Back to my original question...Would a re-mapped Furbie vRS 180bhp see off a standard Octy Vrs 180 bhp from 0-100 mph?

It's possible. It's a lighter car.

This may have been asked before ......But............ would a 180 bhp chipped furbie vRS  see of a standard Octy vRS :thumbdwn:

I have owned both and these were my first thoughts -

My furby was chipped, dont know how much power (never got to rolling road) but im estimating 160 bhp maybe more.

I done a video on my mobile of the car doing 0-80mph, i know this is nowhere near accurate but time was 13 sec.

When i first got the octy i was a little upset that it did not feel as fast as i thought it would be, i have heard from many people that the octy needs to see at least 3000 miles to loosen up.

I have now done about 4000 miles and can confirm that it feels like a different car now and might just see that furby off.

By the way octy is standard.

Mobile video of octy 0-80mph 11sec

Both cars had ASR switched on at the time, both done on the same road with the same weather conditions (dry).

As i said above i know they was no science involved its only a very rough guide but i must say that behind the wheel in the real world the furby does feel faster ( a chipped or mapped one that is).

I done a video on my mobile of the car doing 0-80mph, i know this is nowhere near accurate but time was 13 sec.

I have a vid of my Fabia doing 0-95 in 15 secs, backed out cos of a tractor :peepwall:

My Fabia has 195 bhp and around the 320 lb/ft of torque mark, and weighs less than the Octavia, I can see no reason why my Fabia in a 0-100 would loose out.

I have also gone up a slip road with an Octavia vRS infront of me and it didnt pull an inch, have to say we were both booting it.

However, get an Octavia remapped and it would wee all over any Fabia, chipped or not.

My Fabia and weighs less than the Octavia

you sure?

...i have a vid of my octy doing 60-170 in similar time .... will find it one day is on a dvdrom in a box packed up from my house move.....:D

A Fabia wont see off a std octy... but it would possibly pull ahead slightly... (from experience with daytripper)

who won you daytripper or the red accord?

I never exceed any speed limits or thrash either our fab vRS or the octy vRS so I have no idea ;)
